It is also revealed that in the natural world homosexuality does not necessarily cause marginalization. Within some species, most notably dolphins, same-sex pairs often mate for life. With the help of scientific research, international stock footage and location shoots all over the world, Saint Thomas exposes a phenomenon that has gone unnoticed until now and re-examines the fundamental paradigms of nature.

My dog used to mount my stuffed animal when she was a puppy, what does that mean? Who has a sexual attraction to stuffed animals? And what happens when dogs climb on your legs? Does that mean that dogs are sexually attracted to humans?
We have to be honest, this type of documentary is clearly focused on supporting homosexuality in humans as something innate and not on honestly describing the animal kingdom.

You're not keeping an open mind. You can criticize this documentary and not do it in a bigoted manner. Homosexuality is an innate human thing that happens. Your dog simply did those things out of instincts, maybe the animals shown here did homosexual acts out of instinct as well. However, even outside of sex, there are animals who sometimes will have "partners" or companions that are of the same sex, sometimes even raising young. Penguins do this quite a bit.
Very interesting to see sexual diversity in the animal kingdom. The Bonobos fascinate me the most not just because of their sexual diversity but because there has been no observed infanticide (humans, like other primates, kill their young) and the power hierarchy is female led and generally conflict is reduced in their societies. There are no instances of exclusive homosexuality in wild animals, and what appears as bisexuality are more likely ways of reinforcing dominance and pecking orders. I've noticed that you continue to tell people in the comments to look at the "Male Homosexual Preference: Where, When, Why?" published by Julien Barthes, but it is leaving me confused about FEMALE homosexual preferences in the wild. The hypothesis claims that when MALES have no available mates, they are more likely to exhibit homosexual behavior, but what about the female kobs and Japanese Macaque? The video shows they still continue with their homosexual behavior even when males are present and even when they aren't. Can you explain that to me? For example, it must be demonstrated that proposed female homosexual animals never breed with males, and that such pairings extend beyond companionship or friendship. So the question arises how would platonic female-to-female animal relationships differ from romantic female-to-female animal relationships?
Even if female-to-female animal contact involved nuzzling or licking certain areas this does not define preference per se, but rather preference is determined by life-long pairings with same gender. And the main problem with animal behavior is distinguishing platonic from non-platonic interaction.
It's difficult studying wild free-range animals over an entire life span to truly assess mate pairing, and confined or zoo animals with limited mate choices are very poor comparisons. The fascinating news is that homosexuality in humans has been shown to have a genetic component as confirmed by identical twin studies. The nature of how such genes increased in frequency and maintain equilibrium within populations is poorly understood, but several theories exist including hypergyny.
My personal assessment is that homosexuality is a purely human condition caused by unique selection based on stratified populations. The condition appears less prevalent among hunter-gatherer cultures with even a few reporting no incidence or understanding of same-gender preference.
