  • Connecting Quirino and San Pedro Streets in Davao City is a road that carries two names. Officially, it's Cayetano Bangoy Street. However, many Dabawenyos, regardless of age, continue to call it Ponciano Reyes Street. This reflects the lasting impact of the man for whom it was originally named: a respected lawyer who played a key role in southern Philippine governance, including his involvement in a formal agreement between the Philippine governor-general and the Sultan of Sulu.
Davao City, officially known as the City of Davao (with local names in Cebuano, Hiligaynon, and Tagalog), is a highly urbanized city located in the Davao Region of the Philippines. Covering 2,443.61 square kilometers (943.48 sq mi), it is the Philippines' largest city by land area. With a population of 1,776,949 according to the 2020 census, Davao City is the third-most populous city in the country (after Quezon City and Manila) and the most populous city in Mindanao and the Davao Region, as well as outside of Metro Manila.
    Wire-free city
Other streets that would soon become visibly wire-free will be Ponciano, Bonifacio, Pelayo Street, and Quirino Avenue.
