Erik Johansson im sure he will answer soon, but in the midtime i can tell you this much... bodyweight workout works musclew that cant be trained by weights... a good exqmple is... have you ever noticed that there are lots of people who can benchpress but cqnt do pushups? thats because pushups actually train all the same muscles plus core, and a bunch of muscke fibers on the same parts that can only get trained by balance... what doing weights allows is to get bigger faster... but to really get stronger, bodyweight gives alot more...
ive met a guy, who used weights, got up to 100kg with very big muscles, he could lift some ridiculous weights... like... there was a machine with a wire that you pull... he would pull 140 kg with one hand... his arm waw big as q trunk, but once he was with a friend and with me and there was a metal gate that was in the way, they both tried tu move it away and between the two they could hardly move it... they both were masive and were very good lifting weights at the gym... i thought "wow, if this guys cant lift this, who could?'(the gate was broken and in the way but not conected to the hingrs) and another guy we didnt knew, who was a martial artist and gymnast and didnt look big at all... he grabed it by himself and threw it overhead in a single movement... i was there because i was with my school, we were all about 18 to 21
so... they had good muscles and were strong but didnt have any practice in how to use all those muscles together... but since this guy used his own bodyweight when training, he could use the strenght of his whole body in a a single movement...
tldr: bodyweight training works the balance muscles and teaches you how to use your muscles efectively, and is always good to add to your training n.n
i have the program, it's amazing. it has plenty of variations, so you'll never get stagnant in your growth.
gingercore69 Thanks for the answer! I only do bodyweight training and sometimes with weighted vest. I never go to the gym to just stand there and lift weights because I'm really looking for that natural strong body(which I do have but want to be even stronger). I think ill buy the book, it seems like it's definately something for me!
