To anyone watching in 2023, you can use the arrow buttons on your keyboard to lock your cursor to the 3 different axis. So instead of having to hover, draw a line, use the correct arrow key to lock that line to your desired axis, drag it out and hover over the geometry point you want to inference, and click to draw the line. This will draw the line on the axis you’ve locked it to, but will be the length that matches to the point you were inferencing. Works great if you need to draw equal lines. And you can also you it with push pull by inferencing a face that you need your pushed/pulled surface to be flush with. 👍🏻
