The beta weapons looked like some old S.T.A.L.K.E.R weapon mods.
But stalker have excellent weapon mods today
Most of the Russians and Ukrainians love this game, as counter strike or Minecraft
There was one stalker mod that used those ripped off models.

I love HL2 guns, but I played it with the MMOD and I loved it, I think is one of the best weapons mod. Simple addon with super detailed animations.

Mmod is probably one of the best half life 2 remastered things I’ve ever seen
Now if only some team would remake Half life 2 but make it look and feel modern, much like the Black Mesa remake. Or better yet, figure out Source 2 from Half-life alyx and make a Half life 2 remake of that.
BlueNightfury one of the makers of many remastered games asked Gabe Newell if him (the maker of remastered games) could remaster half life 2 but Gabe Newell declined it

Sadly, the MMod creator's hometown (Mariupol) was obliterated by Putin this spring. At least I hope he is alive

Damn the sound on the MMod is SO FREAKIN LOUD OMG, everything scream, no dynamic whatsoever, you can't even hear the pheropod touching the ground
I love using the spas 12 in m mod if has such a heavy hit or feels like it does. Reminds me of hl1's shotgun and how hard that hit
I like how in the 2002 beta you can hear pistol and ar2 shells dropping on the ground but in vanilla you can't

In the beta everything seems rather skinny prolly because of the way the arm is angled, but in the MMod looks like instead of Black Mesa tapping into Xen they tapped into the ghetto
Beta looks so rusted on The Spas... it looks like something come out from a rotting flesh... also it looks like DOOM Weapons
that's because it's not the original, the original was a lot less polished and messy. This one is a redone shotgun by the Beta.ru people (could be wrong on who made it, though).

Hey, do you know if it's possible to get the lead pipe in vanilla Half Life 2? I saw it in synergy (coop half life 2 that uses the deathmatch engine) in the part where you help that guy in the sewers and idk if thats just a bonus part on the developer or is it available in vanilla?

The mmod pulse rifle animation is so damn good
Mmod is great and definitely and improvement with most of the guns, but the classic shotgun firing and pumping sounds and the automated AR2 reload just can’t be beaten IMO

Completely changing shotgun pump sound, as well as crowbar swoosh and silhouette were biggest mistakes on Gunship Mark's part, even though I love many other changes.
I don't know, I quite like the new pumping sound, and the swoosh is kind of whatever for me.

well if you use ''give weapon_nightstick'' it just gives you health and there's no vanilla first person model for the stun baton in HL2.

stun baton is usable in hl2 deathmatch.
I just now realized that aside from the SPAS, none of the vanilla guns eject casings. Kinda weird considering the guns ejected casings in HL1.

Vanilla HL2 explosions are honestly still very good to this day. MMOD explosions look super imposed and overly flashy. Besides that ONE thing, literally, MMOD is superior.

@@arevalo8117 no it is not... The animation in Mmod is wrong, in the first half-life gordon shot first in semi auto and then switched immediatly to pump action to fire the second round
@@thesha7447 Thats an impossible movement, you dont see gordons hand on the mode switcher when double firing.
@@arevalo8117 I know that it's a dual-purpose shotgun, I mean it says the name in SPAS acronym (Special Purpose Auto Shotgun) but there is no freakin' way that he shoots out 2 shells in pump-action mode.
Even if he switches to automatic to pump-action mode, the auto mode should eject the one shell, and pump out the other from the pump-action mode.

I can't play regular HL2 after playing MMod anymore. The animations, visual and AI improvements, etc., just make the best way to play the game now.
Frankly, I've always thought the default HL2 weapon reloads were pretty bad, especially the AR2 one.
Tbh the smg was horribly underwhelming for me in vanilla hl2. It sounded and hit like garbage lmao
they're worse than a game from 1998, surprisingly.

@@sonicdash9652 the MP5 actually has a mag inserted into it instead of Gordon just slapping the gun.
The AR2's reload never really made sense to me; Gordon picks up magazines to get ammo but doesn't replace said magazines, it just picks another pulse cartridge from the supposedly empty mag.
For stun baton in Vanilla you can use Garry's Mod!

I Like MMOD guns
When you want to play mmod but you have a mac.
Standard Half-life 2 has the best shotgun. Same goes for the SMG, RPG and crossbow. I'm also not a fan of the how AR2 recoils in MMOD. Looks jank as fuck.
MMod also eliminates a lot of the charm of the weapon, basically turning it into a generic assault rifle "fixing" the reload animation.
@@quiver5756 agreed. As satisfying as the MMOD reload feels, it makes the gun impractical compared vanilla because of that huge ass magazine. The vanilla AR2 shows much more advanced combine ability than having 30 rounds in a magazine the size of plate.
@@salt_97 well the osipr was originally a flare gun so they just reused animations for it which is why it reloads that way
