Thanks for letting them know that your buying it after watching my videos. They are my sponsor. When you use Gliss -n- Glint remember less is more. I don't fish much Clouser Minnows, I never really had any luck on them. I do think Gliss-n-glint would work better. Jim
Hi Les, You fish this just as you would a popper. Let it sit a bit when landing, then pop it a time or two and let it sit again. it usually doesn't take long for panfish to take it. The smaller ones will have a hard time getting it in thier mouth. So it's all good. Jim
normally I don't like foam flies with a few exceptions. This is one of them. I also make beetles, some ants, I also will tie foam under the dubbing if I need a really high floating bug. All the best, Sean
It is possible. I would tie them even smaller for trout. They do work good when there is a hatch of Damselfly. If you tie them bigger, much bigger, you can take Pike with them. Jim
I guess I'm not all that versatile of a fly fisherman. 75% of the time, I'm fishing a wooly bugger or a Clouser minnow. It's what I catch most of my fish on. The only trout we have here are little stocked rainbows. I'd rather go bluegill fishing. If we had big native browns, I'd be on those! THe clousers work great for me for largemouth, white bass, hybrid striped bass, and stripers. The only problem is that the bucktail doesn't hold up too well. The fibers break. Thanks again.
Looking at the Deer Creek stuff. Thinking of some of their UV cure glue. When I order, I'll tell them it was because of your videos. I might get some of the Gliss and Glint hair, too. HAve you ever tied a Clouser using it? I fish a lot of Clouser minnows in all sizes. I like the way the Deer Creek Gliss and Glint looks. Thinking it might work better for Clousers than bucktail. Thoughts?
hi jim many thanks for the reply i,m in scotland we dont have panfish here...(or not as far as i know)...would these work on rainbows using same method?
Nice fly! I am definitely tying that for next weekend.
Hope you enjoy it!

Jim, Thanks for this fly ,one of my favorites. What is the differance between a gurgler and popper,if any. Thanks
Pàul Johnson A gurgler is much lighter.

hey Jim I commented on one of your videos earlier and I was wondering how you get sponsers
+Fly Adventures With Brandon I had them come to me.
Oh, so the companies watch your videos and they endorse you?
+Fly Adventures With Brandon it is a two way street.I do promote their product after receiving it and trying it out.
Jim, in two hours I caught 18 crappie and 2 bluegill on this fly.I changed it a little but this fly catches fish
Great to hear! I have caught just about every species of fish on gurglers of different sizes and designs. Thanks for the feedback.
Any time, I've been making lures for about three years now and I just have gotten into tying flies. Your videos have been a great learning tool
