Jake has been carrying unite for years now. 😅 at least for me, he's the only one I watch. The others were just plain boring or annoying with all the rage and complaining. But Jake is the definition of Zen. He even has a tilt break 😅
Somewhat new to Unite, but Ho-Oh being a Defender perplexes me considering Ho-Oh is the more Offensive of the two and Lugia was one of the best Tanks in GSC.
I played a match against a Hoopa and Hooh. We team wiped the enemy right before Ray spawned, but Hoopa was so low level that she respawned and made it back to Ray in time to pop Unite and bring the team back in. Then we near wiped them again before Ho-oh popped Unite and revived them all again. We did not win that game. 10/10 Defender, would match against again
People don't play flamethrower Ho-oh as much because when every stun cancels your moves, you're almost always better off with a move that can at least get you out of a sticky situation or bait enemy stuns.
Lugia would also bring a defender if they're following the same idea as Ho-oh. Ho-oh and Lugia have the same base 154 special defense but Lugia has much higher def compared to Ho-oh who has more investment into attack.
Ho -oh being my main this season, solo Q unknown player 1442 60% winrate so far. Here's my build atm, very strong for solo Q, allowing you to carry game, invade jungle, destroy lane. Doing objective solo is ok... still not as effective as flaylax, but better than bech greedent. Being able to steal ray sometime, still surprising, but very consistent for flamethrower being a low DoT. Attack weight, vulne insurance and curse bangle. X speed. Attack weight to get extra damage on flamethrower, healing more, dealing more damage. Vulne insurance to get attack's stack to deal more damage at start to secure wild mon and applying pressure on ennemy mon. Then at lv5, ennemy mon which are attacking you, increase your attack as you are healing yourself. At lvl7, great to land with 4 stack vulne insurance as a finish move. Curse bangle... prolly the item which increase the most Ho oh's damage. Reducing ennemy mon healing, and HOLLY there is so much healing/self healing this season. It is increasing ho oh's damage so much, that's unfair. Prolly the reason why Ho oh is secretly S tier solo Q defender this season. Agreed about Ho Oh being a forgotten defender since fire spin nerf Disagreed about still using fire spin, especially in solo Q. Even more for people not being famous streamer that random people will try to coordinate with him. Most of time, i am seeing my ally running away from me, being unable to fire spin them or applying exp share 'cause my game are full of troll letting me solo a lane as a defender share exp. Never run share exp anymore on my defenders nowadays. Fire spin is too weak to eat any damage, even with a resonant guard. Only unite's shield is enough to enable fire spin to peel your allies. it doesn't peel your ally anymore, it is slowing you for nothing now and really hard to reach lv13 with a share exp to turn this nerf into a buff. Speaking about unite, why does ho oh unite is 120k cost (so he can use them two in a game) while some as strong if not more broken unite is still 100k? (Waching you Darkrai, being able to reload it within 1:30) Fly do so much more nowadays for solo Q experience, even for peeling your team: - high mobility - So you can scout ennemy mon and bait them where you want them to be at ray fight, because ennemy team always want to kill anything walking to them 1v2 or 1v3 (game being full of duo/tri Q) then another come to 1v4 you, then 1v5. - healing you with 3 strong auto, no time limit to use them, so you can get 6 strong auto attack in a row if you did not use them on your first fly. - being able to fly around walls and high mobility, really strong with X speed. - Bait important cooldown and break them like mimykyu throwed his shadow on you, fly around a place where mon can't walk, mimikyu will teleport next to a wall and waste his skill. And will be "What the hell?!" - Great skills to use harass ennemy mon with flamethrower and applying your curse effect on ennemy team.
Lugia is my favorite pokemon since i first watched Pokemon movie 2000 and played pokemon silver. Lugia would 100% be all rounder or defender. Prolly defender as its ability multiscale makes it a tank in games paired with super high defense even more so than Ho-oh
All-Rounder Lugia idea: Multiscale - can't take more 20% of its health per hit. Special ranged basic attacks Gust - pushes enemies back in a line and deals damage Calm Mind - increases movement speed and blocks one stun Hydro Pump - pushes enemies back in a line and deals more damage, small healing per enemy hit Aeroblast - charged move that always crits every enemy it hits in a line, if charged long enough, and while charging, slows and creates a shield Extrasensory - blocks one stun if it hits an opponent and pulls them towards Lugia Sky Attack - dashes forward, increases movement speed if it hits an opponent, and always stuns and crits the first enemy hit
Lugia is big & has always been one of the most tanky pokemon since it first appeared in 2nd gen so IMO it would definitely be Defender with lots of CC between it's Water, Flying & Psychic attacks.
I don't think Flamethrower is used as often because you're sacrificing mobility for potential sustain. And mobility is always going to be in hugh demand.
@@jennyperpa5302 they are popular on diffrent classes not on defenders. for defender only popular mobility is horn leech, surf and both are cc...sky attack isnt good for a defender
In the video you mentioned using cursed bangle but while attacking with flamethrower the bottom of the screen showed incense. What am I catching wrong here?
Since Ho-oh, the Pokemon with more attack is a defender... how about Lugia being a speedster or attacker? They already reversed the role of Ho-oh, why not Lugia?
Taking Regileki is only beneficial if you are in level lead so you can push it to the opponents base otherwise the bottom Regis are more important@@AudibleMotion
For the first objective spawn you always want to go for bottom regis to get the level lead. After that you can go for either, mostly regieleki if you're able to pressure into pushing the pad if you have ults. Regieleki is also a better objective right before rayquaza as it provides a good distraction and some noobs will fall for it instead of showing up to ray. Regieleki is also a must have if their tier 2 pad has been broken and their base is vulnerable. You cab always grab bottom regis, especially necessary if you're struggling to keep up with EXP, but otherwise regieleki is also good.

Not with these devs it won't. Especially with weeks and months of not nerfing obviously broken Pokemon

I like flamethrower in theory but yea this right here. It’s my main problem why I think Ho-Oh feels a little overrated. Still fun to play though
@heyAmashy If stuns interrupted moves instead of straight canceling them I could see this moveset getting more play.

this is true lmao with psyduck and darkrai out people seem to forget hooh being a legit very good character outside his defender role
That Ray kill was CLUTCH mate
If lugia where to come into the game it would be a defender due to its stats and it'll be more stun focused because it creates huge winds and storms.
Lugia is my favorite pokemon since i first watched Pokemon movie 2000 and played pokemon silver. Lugia would 100% be all rounder or defender. Prolly defender as its ability multiscale makes it a tank in games paired with super high defense even more so than Ho-oh
Tbf, all rounder is still there just because Dragonite also has Multiscale. But I agree with those being its two options
5:05 defender or maybe all rounder, also i think it will be the next anniversary mon
All-Rounder Lugia idea:
Multiscale - can't take more 20% of its health per hit.
Special ranged basic attacks
Gust - pushes enemies back in a line and deals damage

Extrasensory - blocks one stun if it hits an opponent and pulls them towards Lugia
Sky Attack - dashes forward, increases movement speed if it hits an opponent, and always stuns and crits the first enemy hit
Unite move - summons huge twisters that deal damage around itself and gives Luigi’s a shield
Luigi would probably be an all rounder
Lugia would be an all rounder, because Timi loves all rounders.
Lugia would be a crowd control roamer.
Lugia is big & has always been one of the most tanky pokemon since it first appeared in 2nd gen so IMO it would definitely be Defender with lots of CC between it's Water, Flying & Psychic attacks.
Lugia Supporter with an emphasis on displacement abilities would be smokin! Think Janna + Pyke from League!
I don't think Flamethrower is used as often because you're sacrificing mobility for potential sustain. And mobility is always going to be in hugh demand.
flamethrower has been used in com much more..and also sky attack is not cc immune so nah flame better in general
@bubuxviv
True, but most mobility moves aren't CC immune. They're still popular.
@@jennyperpa5302 they are popular on diffrent classes not on defenders. for defender only popular mobility is horn leech, surf and both are cc...sky attack isnt good for a defender
I guess Lugia will be a Support but with damage. Could be a defender too. Specialized on CC and shielding but with damage
Considering Lugia is one of the tankiest pokemon in the main series, it would also be a Defender lol.
Im never sleeping on flamethrower. But fire spin I'm in a deep sleep
Has spragels been teasing the next Pokemon?
I'm trying to main ho-oh. I'm slowly getting better. I find the overall damage is sooo low. Usually around 30-35k with constant pokes outside of farm
Well yeah ur a defender don’t expect high damage numbers
Try attack weight, Aeos cookie, and resonant guard. I run fire spin and flamethrower. I average between 70k-90k damage a game
Fly is funny cause you can bait a melee to you in low health and just hide over a wall
I like to play Fly, Flamethrower Ho-oh and it's really fun to me.
I didn’t. This is how I got to masters this season. This build w/ focus instead of exp share.
In the video you mentioned using cursed bangle but while attacking with flamethrower the bottom of the screen showed incense. What am I catching wrong here?
Incineroar and Lugia hm? You dropping hints on us?
Lugia would specialize in CC, I assume. All rounder is my guess!
Ive always preferred this to sky attack
Yeeeeehaaaaaawwwww ahhhhhhh fireeeee...flame throwerrrr
Idk why i did that...lol

I remember when destroy everyone with ho oh
Since Ho-oh, the Pokemon with more attack is a defender... how about Lugia being a speedster or attacker? They already reversed the role of Ho-oh, why not Lugia?
Lugia is actually tankier than ho oh, so.... but it feels wrong somehow
might need to fix description, you put flamethrower and fly even though you used flamethrower and fire spin 😅
Hey Jake can you please make part 2 of what your mains say about in Pokemon unite
Idk about you, but most my ranked matches I get a Ho-Oh ban. So I don't think it's that slept on
Can anyone explain why the teams don’t stick to their lanes more? (I’m new to this game and high level play)
Doesn’t do you any good to stay in ur lane the entire game. You need to rotate and group up with your team
@ thanks for the response! Do teams normally rotate to the bottom? I would have guessed top would be better for Regeleki (however you spell it haha)

hey man would you pls try scizor with focus, muscle and resonant guard
All rounder Lugia
i pick to ban ho oh every time
Yo first time I've ever watched a video first
Congrats
If they don´t make Lugia supporter i am not playing it
Yee Haw Jake
Ah yes. This video is upsetting for me to watch.
First!!!!
Ho ho is basically the new Lapras why use it when there are better options
you do know that ho oh is like one of if not the best defender rn right.
