    Great presentation, Take a colander, a bucket and rinse with a hose outside, you will really find out the slurry will make a nice concrete paste right inside your plumbing after awhile if you pour it down the sink often enough. Enjoyed the video!

    Very nice demonstration and go through on the rock tumbler, I got the single unit and have found out additional information from your video that has gone into quite good detail of the maintenance, it's to bad the rods are not into ball barring, I think there sleeve which need lubrication even more.
    Thanks for the video I totally enjoyed watching it.

    I bought one of these tumblers. After 12 hours of trying to get it to run for more than 30 minutes at a time and feeling the extreme heat coming off the motor, hot enough to burn your finger, I packed it up. This thing is way too dangerous to let it run unobserved, it could easily cause a house fire while you are sleeping.

    From what I understand from using machines like this for cleaning brass after shooting, your media, the aquarium gravel is way to big, if you used something much smaller like the intended media they sell for these tumblers or crushed walnut shells for the vibration tumblers you would get a better result with much less time tumbling. The media may be a tad more expensive so you might not want to use it on the junk coins you are just going to cash in, but for true cleanings it might be worth it.

      Yes very good advice that I left out of this video. This is the reason I use the aquarium gravel as it’s usual purpose is to clean junk coins meant to roll and deposit. Quick cleanings so they look presentable. Thanks for the input as it was much needed. All the best to ya!

    How do you open tumbler drumb

    • @SkidMarksTheSpotMetalDetecting
      @SkidMarksTheSpotMetalDetecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not the easiest to get opened once sealed properly. I use a flat head screwdriver most cases to pry it open. The drum is rubber and does allow movement in some cases when not too full I use a pinch on the drum and pull on cap simultaneously method and seems to work.

      I take the first cap off and then use the black knob and screw it on inner lid with attached rubber seal and it is easier to pull out the sealed lid.

    there are better ways of cleaning coins. If any of those coins had any collectors value before you tumbled them. you destroy that value putting them in the tumbler.
