I had my wisdom tooth recently it is still coming not fully came and omg i was in so much pain unbearable pain my gum get swelled facing pain in my jaw as well in my tonsil i wasn't able to eat anything or drink then i took amoxil capsules and day by day got better with the amoxil and pain killer and also a gel which is prescribed for mouth ulcer
yep... I'm gonna have to do that. I don't mind pain or anything, its just the sheer amount of embarrassment I get at the dentist. I seriously need to look after my teeth better
I'm 19 and I just experienced this. The pain is out of this world I taught I could just wait it out like regular tooth ache but after watching this I'm going to the dentist first thing tomorrow. Thanks
Have this issue, but not as bad as others. The flap is kinda small. TBH, I've had this problem during every wisdom tooth eruption and although It was painful, it would usually resolve itself. I checked my wisdom tooth, and it's normal (not sideways or anything) it's same as my past 2 wisdom teeth but just a little more painful. I never paid attention to the other 2 so will do the same here. Furthermore, I have no intention of having my tooth pulled out or get my gum cut so here's what I'm going to do (AGAIN, I'm not visiting a dentist because my tooth is normal, visit a doc if your tooth is sideways or not normal). Bought painkillers, antibiotic (Azithromycin - 500 mg), listerine mouth wash. I'm pretty sure that this problem will leave once the tooth is a bit more out (as I've had similar experience with my other teeth) Painkillers - 2 times a day (after breakfast and after even snacks/dinner) Antibiotics - azithromycin 500mg tablet (once a day during noon) Brushing - morning and night (as usual) and will do after each meal as well (this makes a lot of difference! I had massive build-up of cavity and stuff, brushing slowly at different angles really helped me clean it) Mouth wash - 2 times a day (after breakfast and after dinner, as I do my breakfast around 5-6 hours before sleeping). I'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED (will try my best) and if I miss a day or two, please remind me, I'll respond asap as my notifs are on. TIP - do not sleep on the wisdom tooth side, it's gonna pain more if you apply pressure there. Ask family members for this, or just make a wall from blankets and pillows and all that would stop you from changing sides. PS - the pain is hell! And sorry for bad grammar, I wrote this message twice and both time something happened and had to leave the comment midway (I'm out) so this is just me writing very fast Edit 1: Took medicine yesterday and some self-cleaning too (there were food particles under the gun) I did that very slowly and carefully (took more than 30 minutes) and today I'm feeling much better. The pain is there, but it's no longer unbearable as it was 2 days ago, so no painkillers needed now. I also made sure to sleep on my back, which I did by keeping some pillows under my knee and extra pillow on my both sides. Edit 2 : day 5 and I'm feeling much better, the pain is now just 5 percent of what it was in the beginning, and I've stopped taking painkillers (last painkiller was consumed 36 hours ago) there's still some discomfort, but It's like negligible. I'm brushing my teeth 3-4 times a day and 2-3 times cleaning it with mouthwash (equal water and equal mouthwash). Also, do not rinse your mouth after mouth wash, keep it like that for 30 mins (do not drink or eat anything for 30 mins) and trust me you'll see the change. In edit 1, I wrote that I don't need painkillers now, but I took painkillers because the pain was back so do not worry if the pain is taking more time, it's different for all of us. I'm going to update more later! PS : if your tooth is at a weird angle, please visit a doc. Take the medicine now and as soon as the pain goes down, please get that checked.
I would have this issue a lot, especially as a teenager. Started flossing every night, used mouth wash, and switched to a good electric toothbrush. Never happens to me anymore.
I'm 22 and don't have wisdom teeth. 14 teeth at the bottom and 14 at the top. Gum swelling is covering half of my left side 2nd molar, what should I do. It's a bit painful. That teeth is turning black. I brush twice a day pretty thoroughly
@@naylisyazwina6836 I had 3 of mine under my gums(impacted) and the other with the flap. None of them hurt. My dentist told me to get them removed. Best to do it cause it could lead to gum diseases/infections which lead to losing teeth. I had bad breath and swollen gums because of it. Got all my wisdom teeth removed and I don’t have that issue anymore. I will say it is expensive to get them removed if you don’t have insurance but definitely worth it
Very Very Helpful this is exactly what is happening to me! I have so much pain in my bottom right wisdom tooth and it is partially covered with my gums, I will see a dentist tomorrow. I hope they can fix it soon, taking out the tooth sounds scary but also a good long term solution.
You guys- please go see your dentist or go to urgent care. My pain started on Saturday, I saw my dentist Monday, got prescribed antibiotics and strong painkillers. After 2 days of antibiotics, I already feel so much symptom relief. And I was bawling my eyes out with how bad the pain was. Get the wisdom teeth removed as well. I’m doing that next week. Avoiding medical care is not worth the pain. I promise you, seeing a doc will be your best bet, the salt water rinses alone aren’t enough.
I’ve had an unusual experience with this based on everything I’ve heard- I have a VERY rubbish pain tolerance and have been trooping through 5 days of mild pain, a slightly tender neck, a bit of difficulty with eating BUT nothing more than I would usually experience with a wisdom tooth flare up. No swelling, no severe pain, no reason to worry. Saw the dentist for a check up just to see how my wisdom was coming in. He pressed on the flap/my gum and said there was pus coming out and it was infected!?! Day 2 of antibiotics, back for a checkup and to see what needs to be done on Monday 🤞🏻
@@sagittarius420cheefie amoxicillin 500mg (3 doses over 3 weeks). Got it again a few months later but didn’t want to abuse antibiotics, so I got a water flosser and clear any food out from that area once a day and it works a charm
I m 21 the swelling is bad near wisdom teeth. Tomorrow is my exam. They did my dressing and game me antibiotics. They told me to remove gum flap after exam
I've had this a couple of times. Avoid sugar. I recommend using hydrogen peroxide to brush that area and OIL PULLING. IT WORK. Now it will come back in months or years if it's not dealt with by removing the tooth. In the meantime I recommend garlic, oil pulling and hydrogen peroxide.
I have this condition with the gum flap on both sides in my mouth, couple of years ago it started to hurt really bad in the right side, so I went to the dentist, they removed the gum (because it was cheaper than removing the tooth) and I was told to clean the area with some chlorhexidine. Forward another year, it started to happen again but in the other side, this time the dentist (I moved town so I had a different dentist) did not want to remove the gum but instead the whole tooth, but in order for him to do that they needed to get the swelling of the gum reduced, so I was given medicine and more chlorhexidine as well as a small needle that I could use to spray the chlorhexidine behind the tooth. I ended up recovering fully and decided not to have my tooth removed because the chlorhexidine did the job just fine. The swelling went away and everything went back to normal. I check every night after I brush my teeth if I can see food under the gum flap, if I can I take the needle and fill it up either with water or chlorhexidine and just flush it out. I also every now and then stick it really far back under the gum (I know it sounds weird) to flush out the back of the tooth. The chlorhexidine seems to prevent this issue from recurring. However last night I noticed some pain in that area again, it does not seem swollen up but when I put the needle under the flap/far in its sore (not the flap), I've run out of chlorhexidine but have ordered a new bottle and I hope it will solve this. Flushing with water does not seem to "extract" any pus or food leftovers, so I really don't know if this is Pericoronitis or just my wisdom tooth moving again. If the pain doesn't go away in the next couple of days I will probably see a dentist and have them remove the gum flap. Sorry for this long comment, I just thought I'd share my experience with everyone out there who might be encountering this issue. Edit* It was Pericoronitis, it became super painful and I have been unable to fully close my mouth since the day after writing this comment. I took penicillin and chlorhexidine and it helped a bit, but I am having my wisdom tooth extracted tomorrow. I did not think this was going to happen.
Went through this last year. My right wisdom erupting pain came and left for about 2 months. Fully erupted pain is gone. This year is the left one. I’m not ready to experience this pain again. It’s the worst.
I've been experiencing this pain for a week now..trust me, this pain is unbearable 😢I just visit a dentist today...he gave me antibiotics and injection to calm the pains down..I will go for check up on Saturday
Hi can you tell me what antibiotics you took and dosage cause am taking an antibiotic 1 tablet twice a day but it makes me feel sick,I was wondering if I can only take 1 a day
had this condition about a month ago and took antibiotics, just got my wisdom teeth out last week, it’s worth it get them out, i had all four out and it doesn’t hurt that much
@@chiyul7576 I took all 4 out 3 days ago. It didnt hurt for me at all. I was under iv sedation so I didn’t remember anything. Didn’t feel any horrible pain at all afterwards but ofc it’s different for everyone. Only thing i did/do feel is a really mild pain on my teeth/gums and my jaw feeling uncomfortable/weird but that’s normal. Nothing tylenol can’t fix. I think the worst part for me is not being able to eat😭Really craving a bunch of food that I can’t eat. You’re so limited to what you can eat
@@chiyul7576Currently day 4 almost 5 post -op for mine. Recovery sucks as heck. Pro tip: transition from liquid to soft food diet CAREFULLY. I shocked my system and my heart rate went up for a while
I went to the dentist with mild pain like you described, but the dentist instantly told me the tooth has to be removed. He also immediately cut the gum flap open and put a drainage. To be honest, now it hurts more than before the dentist - but I don’t regret that I went to the doctor
never forget, February 2023. having this on both of my wisdom teeth caused me so much pain i was unable to keep food down, and the infection was ALL OVER my mouth. never let your teeth get in the condition i did, y’all. don’t be afraid of the dentist, you’re gonna be fine
I have this and was diagnosed with it and my dentist said that I will need surgery. But until then I have tried everything such as oragel, oral saline solution, mouth wash 😭
Hang in there it will go away Do mouthwash of warm/hot water + some sea salt and gargle on the side where it hurts. Also buy some anti inflammation toothpaste and what i did personally is just clean thoroughly the area by brushing Under the flap + after i would take the toothpaste put it on my finger and then directly put it on the infection and just leave it there, without swallowing your saliva too much. It did wonders for me
going through this pain right now.. i noticed the gum flapping over but i thought it’s my cheek and my mouth would adjust to it (greatest regret ever!) now it’s all swollen that i can’t even close my mouth, i can only drink liquids can’t chew food even if i tried. i’m taking antibiotics that the dentist prescribed and it’s day 2 but it’s only getting more swollen. that is without even mentioning the pain that keeps waking me up any time i sleep
@@ushagulcharan9601 yes! in about 4-5 days it was getting better.. in addition to the antibiotics i gargled with a mix of vinegar + salt + water after each meal so no bacteria would stay on there. i also massaged the swollen area with a mix of essential oils the doc prescribed (it relieves some of the inflammation). another thing is i avoided brushing the tooth directly (it can injure it). the dentist advised me to remove it but i hesitated bcs there is a risk of getting the nerve damaged. it’s doing all fine now. i just use a toothpick to take out any food stuck every few days
They rarely come in ideally but rather jam into the second molars and wedge the entire tooth row alignment into abnormal condition. The mandible rear corners usually don’t allow room for correct eruption. Same with the upper rear of tooth row available space. Your teeth appear perfectly aligned 😊.
I'm 15 and I've just noticed this issue in the past few days. I think I might have it but obviously can't know until it's diagnosed. I'm pretty scared to tell my parents, because I don't want to worry them or put anymore financial strain on them, and also because I'm absolutely terrified of the treatment options. i kinda have a fear of needles and medication since childhood, so this procedure would be hard for me. but i also read on google that if left untreated it can be life-threatening, so now I'm honestly freaking out. does anyone who has had this before, or any dentists or dental hygienists in the comments, can give me some advice about this?
I’m not a dental profession but I have done my research. So Idk where you’re from, but I believe under 18s get free treatment in most places. Tell your parents, book an appointment and get it checked out, you will have more financial trouble if it gets worse and you need bigger treatment.
Here’s a tip for you I personally have that very annoying gum flap that is honestly very annoying but I recommend rise it with warm salt water and it will reduce the swelling Also make sure do not pick the flap with your fingers it might just make it worse. Also brushing under there can be hard but if tour’s isn’t too swollen just gently lift it up with your toothbrush and brush lightly under it Fyi I’m not a dentist professional
My dad always tells me to look at what other dentists say. He could be just tryna make money so if you can, try to schedule appointments with other dentists as well
To anyone going through this here is what i did i sat in my room didnt eat and bit down gently on my tongue so i didnt touch the gum at all then after a few hours it went away also i made sure to brush and use mouthwash on the gum idk if that did anything
That happened to me over this past summer! I tried googling it and wording my issue in so many different ways and I couldn't find any search results that seem to pertain to what I had going on, and I didn't know that it was an actual real thing and that it even had a name. Mine started off with no pain, I just noticed the flap/gum over the unsurfaced wisdom tooth on the bottom left was feeling puffy and flappy, and I think me touching it with my tongue also helped inflame it... idk why I kept doing that... But yeah, like after maybe two days, that's when the pain started and it got worse and worse and it was like that for maybe a week and a half to two weeks. I never have dental issues or pain, so this really sucked for me lol I don't know how mine went away, but I was rinsing with mouthwash multiple times a day, using my waterpik for as much as I could bear in that area, and warm salt water rinsing multiple times a day with plenty of orajel and NSAIDs. I hope it never happens again lol
I'm going through this exact same thing now... I've tried mouthwash, throughout the day, even went to Walgreens and got a pack of q tips and orajel... it only works for awhile, but the pain is unbearable... more annoying then anything.. I can barely eat, it hurts when I yawn or move my mouth a certain way talking...
@@marquezsmith8889 ahhh man, I'm sorry you're going through it. And yeah, the first time I had it, I did something similar (plus warm saltwater rinse), which I thought was a bunch of ineffective homeopathic nonsense, but it actually does help with pain and healing. I also used q-tips and orajel, which goes away in minutes (for me). I found this small kit at Walmart that comes with a super small vial of Novocaine (or benzocaine?), And little cotton pellets. I'd soak one of those pellets and place it on the gum flap (just be careful bc some people can have bad reactions, and there's no real knowledge on who or how). Oh! I'd flush it out with a water pick on high pressure (or as high as you can handle), and it does cause some discomfort, but it'll help get whatever food debris out of there that's causing it. One last thing I'd also recommend is rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash, or peroxide, and rinse multiple times, and obviously try to to eat on that side, which is hard... I hope these tips help, and that that shit goes away ASAP 🤙🏻
@@BillBraskyy thank you I’m going through it rn and it’s well especially waking up I feel it the worst!! I have to keep brushing and it’s just killing me! But I got antibiotics hopefully they help so I could get it removed next week!
@@TeamFCC oh I know! The mornings are TERRIBLE! your jaw locks up, but your don't really feel it or think of it bc you're still half asleep, and then you yawn out of instinct, and then POW! it's like getting kicked in the jaw! It reminds me of the pain from wisdom teeth first thing in the morning as well. But yeah, you're doing the best you can for it. I'd invest in a water pick if this is a chronic thing, and like with me, I felt mine start puffing up maybe three weeks ago, but it wasn't hurting yet (the beginning stage), and I made sure not to touch it with my tongue or fingers, and then I irrigated the shit out of it, swished peroxide, and I did it again before bed, and next morning I was good! So there's ways to prevent it too when you feel that initial painless swelling 🤙🏻
All of my wisdom teeth are only halfway out, 2 years ago I had 1 removed after the gum area got infected. My dentisf died though and I didn't get my other wisdom teeth out. Right now my right side is infected but I'm in another country and it's drastically more expensive here.
Currently suffering from this right now, I’m 15 years old and it started this morning, my gum flap is basically inflamed and so it the gum next to my partially erupted tooth, I will keep update on how it goes and what has to be done
Quick update: when I had it and it was painful, I brushed my teeth thoroughly and brushed them for around 3 mins, 2 times every day (morning and night), it went away a week later. The only thing I recommend for it is good dental hygiene. Hope this helped! :)
So were all 15 getting this? Lol. Well for my story. A day after or whatever coming for the orthodontist, I noticed that my gum was hurting [before the irritation] and I told my parents about it. It started to swell overtime. My gum was enlarged and red and it hurt to eat, talk or bite down. And I had swollen lymph nodes too. I did the salt water rinse treatment, hydrogen peroxide and water to keep the bacteria out. The swelling didn't go down as I expected it. I brushed my teeth with a soft bristle for less pain. As far as today, the swelling has completely gone down. But I noticed my gum felt very weary and not how it's supposed to look like. Noticing there's literally a tear in my gum. I was wondering why my tooth was bleeding while brushing.
thanks, i already have good hygiene but im still getting this issue, i think i will just brush for even longer for a bit and if it doesnt improve i will go to the dentist
My problem is i have a flap over my last tooth. The flap itself hurts but it isn't an end of the world kinda pain. The tooth looks and feels fine but the flap covering it is a problem. My people don't believe in "seeing a dentist" and I'm getting irritated as hell.
Watching this as I just started having this pain two days ago AFTER eating Tortilla chips 😒😒😒 and then seeing you actually say it has made me so mad because I knew it was from those chips lol
Leaving this here for anyone who is looking for a remedy. WARNING- This is something that I've done myself and felt relief afterwards that's why I'm sharing. It might not work for everyone and I'm not a certified dental expert. 1. Ibuprofen 400mg or Etoricoxib 90 or 120mg for adults. For kids 60mg. One is enough to subdue the pain for a few hours. But if it doesn't work than you can take another after 2 hours. But try not to take more than 3 a day. Also take the medicine after a meal (even though it's very painful to eat but it's recommend to take medicine in full stomach). It's a pain killer and it will help with the swelling and the gum pain. 2. Once the pain goes down a bit try to brush your teeth with a soft bristle toothbrush. Try to go as deep as you can to clean up so that the bacterias can get disrupted. 3. Buy the Colgate peroxyl mouthwash. Look for the one that contains Hydrogen peroxide. This one is made to kill the bacterias that causes Pericornitis. Try to rinse your mouth for 30 seconds and remember don't wash your mouth after using mouthwash. After a while your mouth will automatically absorve it. 4. You can use ice packs and press it on your cheek to feel a quick relief in case it's really painful. 5. A lot of the times the inflammation can come back specially at night when you're sleeping cause that's when your mouth starts getting dry and bacterias can attack. If it's your lower jaw then chances are when you're closing your mouth the upper jaw teeth is touching the gum which can also cause the bacteria to pass and make it worse. So if possible then put a small tissue (kitchen napkins are better as they absorve water but doesn't dissolve) right on top of your infected gum and then press down. It'll one stop your upper teeth from scratching or damaging the inflammatory gum and also absorve the blood and puss. You can change it after a while as well. Basically if you see blood on the napkin use another fresh one. Blood/puss can make it more painful and if it's Pericornitis then chances are that's the case. Keep it for 5-10 mins and change napkins. This also helps lowering the inflammation. Pericornitis is extremely painful and as someone who has recently gone through the similar pain and felt relieved in a single day using the methods mentioned above I really hope it helps someone who is in the same unbearable pain as I was. And again in case you don't feel better than go to your dentist's ASAP. It's painful yes but not always necessary to take out the wisdom teeth. Stay strong stranger 💪
@@chooxtvhighlights9144 It'll help. Try to get the colgate mouthwash as early as you can since that's the one which kills the bacteria and reliefs the ache. But if you have nothing right now. Try to chew a napkin so that your upper gum doesn't touch the swollen part or vice versa. Stay strong! I know how unbearable that pain is but it'll get over quick if you treat it. And if the pain doesn't get better in 48 hours cause that's how long it took for me to fully get over the pain do visit a dentist. Wish you well recovery
@@chooxtvhighlights9144 Try to get the colgate mouthwash as soon as possible and if it's not possible at the moment then try to press a napkin between the swollen gum and the opposite gum so that it doesn't touch and pass the bacteria. Whenever you can widen your mouth try to brush and use the mouthwash. If it doesn't feel better after 48 hours then I suggest visiting a dentist. But if you follow the steps you'll feel better in 24hrs hopefully. Stay strong!
I’m 23 and I think I have this. I just started having pain yesterday on one wisdom tooth and my dentist said to get it removed. I made an appointment with an oral surgeon who’ll look at it and maybe remove the tooth, but I’m going to see if they can remove the gum flap as I do clean my wisdom teeth pretty well.
I had to get the flap on my back gums removed because of a very bad infection that I had. It was very serious because I had trouble swallowing and it hurt to swallow but it also caused a sore throat. My cheek was swollen and I could barley open my mouth. Got antibiotics and then they removed my gum when the infection was gone. The pain from the infection was much worse then having my wisdom teeth taken out.
I’m currently going through this... it hurts so bad they had to cut the flap bc it was getting so bad and I just want to eat... the throbbing pain man this is the wordt
Omg it’s so fricken painful 😩 I am going thru this now 😢My doctor has me on a high dose of amoxicillin and some mouth rinse but holy shit does this hurt like hell ! Thank you for video cause this just explained to me what exactly is happening to me and to know I’m not dying lol 😮 That’s how painful this scenario is ! I’m 58 years old and I’ve never had this pain ever so I guess I’m going to have to get my wisdom teeth out so that this never happens again 😢
Not long ago, I had painful gums and I was brushing frequently, even using a little tiny Proxabrush GoBeTween bushes to brush between the teeth, and a lot of Listerine mouth wash many times every day. And, I still continued to have pain day after day. I was told by a brother-in-law to mix about a half cup of white (clear) vinegar with about a quarter cup of salt. Then take some in the mouth and squish it between the teeth for as long as you can stand it. Then spit it out! It made my pain go away immediately and I haven't had any pain since, and that was about two weeks ago! Don't rinse the vinegar/salt out of your mouth but you can just put water on your tongue to lessen the salty flavor but don't squish the water between the teeth because you want the salt/vinegar to stay on your gums for as long as you can...many hours later you can eat or drink. I'm not a dentist or doctor but I'm just saying what worked for me!
Sometimes, it doesn't always cause much pain. It can cause your teeth set to gyrate(whichever set[top or bottom] your impacted tooth is). This can cause high blud pressure and I am wondering if it can affect the equilibrium points behind the ear that are in the same area(throwing your balance off if you get that strong gyrating sensation). An online chiropractor got me thinking about the latter...
The whole right side of my skull is being infected. I have one rotten molar in front of an impacted one and they so swollen I can't even speak. It's so hard to not take my own instruments to it. I have med grade novicain and siringe and I've pulled my own teeth before. I'm aware of the dangers of this self procedure tho and I only intend to pull the rotten one... hoping that the impacted infected source will be relieved. The biggest issue now is the insane price I'll have to pay just to get some friggin antibiotics. I've worked my whole life. Americas health system is so messed up
I think I have this and it's really painful. Same thing happened last year. I would go to a dentist, but my local dentist are closed on weekends. Got at least another day of this :(
I’m 32 and currently going through this. I can feel it sitting back there, but there’s no pain, I can eat fine. It’s just knowing that it’s there that annoys me.
I had an infected wisdom tooth last summer the pain was unreal I had to hold a cold ice pack next to it! Luckily I was prescribed antibiotics and it helped with it I'm really hoping I don't need to have my wisdom teeth taken out
How many days till pain goes aways I’m currently 48 hours from the first amoxicillin dose and the pain just go off when I take Motrin(ibuprofen) but comes back 5-6 hours later.
Im poor so no on the dentist. What I did was stick my finger to the back of my mouth, I felt it straight up. I pressed on it. In the mirror I watched my tooth be revealed along with a salty taste in my mouth im not sure if it was just my finger which I did wash before trying this. I am now hours after trying it, I can feel the flap on the inside of my mouth trying to reenter the gap it was seated on. However the pain and swelling have gone down alot. Before I did it, I washed my hands, smoked a lot of weed, put ice in the back of my mouth and let it hang until it melted. After I pressed it and that salty taste happen I rinsed my mouth with warm salt water. I'll be able to sleep and eat correctly probably by the end of the night. Update: The flap is still in the gap, but now I can feel and play with it, moving it. Swelling is down ALOT. I woke up rinsed with saltwater. Im gonna rinse every 2-3 hours until I get sleepy and press on it again. I have not smoked too much. Eating food was easier than before, although I did bite down on it once.
@@Straw341 It no longer hurts, the pain is completely gone. Continuing to make sure the piece of skin no longer hit my teeth its not all the way gone, I think its just sort of hanging flesh for the moment. I continued to clean with warm salt water rinses and pushing at it. However the pain is completely gone unless I bite down on it again. I hope you feel better.
Girl it has happened a few times for the past 2 years but I've never experienced something this intense, my ears hurt like crap and whenever i swallow it fucking feels like a punch in the throat
I am 16 and I just started experiencing this not so long... The pain lemme tell you is disturbing... I wanna leave my tooth like this for a day or two. If the pain gets worse I'll consider seeing a dentist and remove my gum flap not my wisdom tooth.😊
I had something problably bacteria but a somewhat tooth resembling thing inside a gum flap and i got it out by myself before even looking anything up, and for some reason it didnt hurt very much when i had it only when i ate or bit down
Need to get mine removed. Had to get it professionally cleaned. They recommended that I get it removed because it could come back withinh a few months to years. Then like clockwork, after 2 months it came back. I just been dealing with the bad odour tbh. No other pain. When I got it cleaned it was because I was starting to get pain. A lil nervous about the procedure but need to get it sorted.
My lower right wisdom never fully erupted.... Either food got stuck and it's infected or it's erupting some more, idk. Just using saline mouth rinse, ibuprofen, and turmeric atm. Also decided to start flossing teeth daily, and using an electric toothbrush; especially at the back where it's hard to reach. The smaller modern jaw and wisdom teeth issues are not genetic. I don't even think wisdom teeth are fully vestigial yet; rather during childhood and adolescence people mostly eat soft foods. We need hard foods to grind/chew like nuts, tough meat, raw veggies. When I have children of my own I'm gonna make them chew mastic gum for 5 mins every day also.
Same, I'm scared bcz we're going to a dentist in a few days not bcz of the infection. Its because its a requirement for school 😭😭 I dony want to be lectured for being careless despite taking care of my teeth.
Every dentist can confirm that this happens a lot of times, it is not your fault, you can have the best oral hygiene but if there is a flap, there will be some buildup that you can’t remove yourself
Yeah, I changed my toothbrush (which is a bit bigger) and accidentally slammed the tip right above my wisdom tooth. At first, I imagined it was a canker sore, but applying some salt directly on top of it (yep, got desperate enough after saltwater rinses weren't doing much either) didn't make it hurt. It all started like 5 days ago with a small discomfort, and it started to really swell by day 2. Went to the dentist on day 4, it's indeed pericoronitis, and I'm just hoping everything will pass. I can't afford the extraction surgery at the moment (which is around 2.4k BRL for all third molars where I went... that is almost 2 minimum monthly wages! I just can't, lol, I'm hoping to find something around 1.6k-1.8k, 2k tops, but I don't think I will). I'm just hoping 3x paracetamol tablets, 4 saltwater rinses, and two rinses with Periogard a day (after every big meal) will be enough to contain the infection. So far, the swelling has diminished a bit and I haven't had any pus, but the radiating pain is so distracting and I'm still struggling to eat. The pain is like hell ... Unable to eat and literally just feeling so uneasiness due to this all
Have this issue, but not as bad as others.
I'm pretty sure that this problem will leave once the tooth is a bit more out (as I've had similar experience with my other teeth)
Painkillers - 2 times a day (after breakfast and after even snacks/dinner)
Antibiotics - azithromycin 500mg tablet (once a day during noon)
Brushing - morning and night (as usual) and will do after each meal as well (this makes a lot of difference! I had massive build-up of cavity and stuff, brushing slowly at different angles really helped me clean it)
Mouth wash - 2 times a day (after breakfast and after dinner, as I do my breakfast around 5-6 hours before sleeping).
And sorry for bad grammar, I wrote this message twice and both time something happened and had to leave the comment midway (I'm out) so this is just me writing very fast
Edit 1: Took medicine yesterday and some self-cleaning too (there were food particles under the gun) I did that very slowly and carefully (took more than 30 minutes) and today I'm feeling much better.

@@naylisyazwina6836 I had 3 of mine under my gums(impacted) and the other with the flap. None of them hurt. My dentist told me to get them removed. I have a VERY rubbish pain tolerance and have been trooping through 5 days of mild pain, a slightly tender neck, a bit of difficulty with eating BUT nothing more than I would usually experience with a wisdom tooth flare up.

Use hp on the tooth? What about a broken tooth? Lymphnode is tender under ear, near jaw
Edit*
It was Pericoronitis, it became super painful and I have been unable to fully close my mouth since the day after writing this comment. I took penicillin and chlorhexidine and it helped a bit, but I am having my wisdom tooth extracted tomorrow. I did not think this was going to happen.
Not to be a dick, but you probably should have listened to that second doctor that recommended a full wisdom tooth extraction lol

The mandible rear corners usually don’t allow room for correct eruption. Same with the upper rear of tooth row available space.

I personally have that very annoying gum flap that is honestly very annoying but I recommend rise it with warm salt water and it will reduce the swelling
Also make sure do not pick the flap with your fingers it might just make it worse.
Also brushing under there can be hard but if tour’s isn’t too swollen just gently lift it up with your toothbrush and brush lightly under it
Fyi I’m not a dentist professional
You'll be alright. I've dealt with it for over 15 years and never see a dentist. It goes away after a week or so.
The dentist wants to remove both the wisdom and the teeth next to it, he said he can’t save it, does it make sense or he just wants to make money.
He just want to make money, pull it out yourself if they hurt
Lmao
Same
I'm going through this exact same thing now...

As far as today, the swelling has completely gone down. But I noticed my gum felt very weary and not how it's supposed to look like. Noticing there's literally a tear in my gum. I was wondering why my tooth was bleeding while brushing.

@@bribanzzz9857 Well that's assuring
Thanks , I am suffering this unbearable pain RN

Same here I'm 23 too
Did you get the flap removed
It hurts so much 😢
Absolutely informative 🔥👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I had to get the flap on my back gums removed because of a very bad infection that I had. It was very serious because I had trouble swallowing and it hurt to swallow but it also caused a sore throat. My cheek was swollen and I could barley open my mouth. Got antibiotics and then they removed my gum when the infection was gone. The pain from the infection was much worse then having my wisdom teeth taken out.
I’m currently going through this... it hurts so bad they had to cut the flap bc it was getting so bad and I just want to eat... the throbbing pain man this is the wordt
@@Beautiful_Rose-t1r dude yes I have this!!
does the gums grow back after being removed ?
@@sharlynrodriguez1778 unfortunately no

thank you so much, the infos are very helpful
Very useful video Dr. and your hairstyle is as beautiful as you.
This is freeeeeaaaaaaakin painful
I have recurring excrutiating pain on my right lower wisdom tooth...today I am literally dying, I am seeing the dentist first thing tomorrow morning
Im 17 and this shit is painful and i cant eat in PEACE😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Is it still hurt?
20-25 I’m 14 help I just got it yesterday I’m going to the dentist today 😢 I know some people ignore it but the pain is unbearable
Americas health system is so messed up
Eww...some stuff just drained after I filled it with a cherry flavored oral anesthetic cotton. Tasted like cherry and sour.
I think I have this and it's really painful. Same thing happened last year. I would go to a dentist, but my local dentist are closed on weekends. Got at least another day of this :(
I’m turning 29, can someone tell me why my wisdom tooth is growing and causing this to me
What is the reason could you please let me know
IS THAT WHY EVERYTIME I BITE DOWN EVEN WHEN NOT EATING IT HURTS CAUSE IM BITING MY GUM?
So this was a long time coming and I was lucky to have this delayed....great...I hate this pain.
Anyway how?
I’ve been using mouthwash regularly for a while now even that didn’t prevent it so now i’m on antibiotics for this
I had just got a cold, apparently that can cause it?
End my suffering, I'm 20 years old and my wisdom teeth is symmetrical but the gums, the gums hurts as hell
@@MrJow3ll same exact scenario over here. Second bout with this, on day 2.5 over here. How’s your going?
@@MrJow3ll sorry for the late reply mine got better after about a week or so
Im poor so no on the dentist.
Is it still hurt? Mine's hurt like hell
@@williejones6446thanks you❤
I love how informative this video is, but the way you're moving makes my very anxious for some reason...😅
Girl it has happened a few times for the past 2 years but I've never experienced something this intense, my ears hurt like crap and whenever i swallow it fucking feels like a punch in the throat
I’m dealing w ts rn
@@perkyyyyzzz2829 same omg it hurts like shit:((
How are you now?
@@gemimathew4101 I'm good
I am 16 and I just started experiencing this not so long...
The pain lemme tell you is disturbing...
I wanna leave my tooth like this for a day or two.
If the pain gets worse I'll consider seeing a dentist and remove my gum flap not my wisdom tooth.😊
The thing is i cant use any kind of antibiotics i have bad allergic reaction to it
I had something problably bacteria but a somewhat tooth resembling thing inside a gum flap and i got it out by myself before even looking anything up, and for some reason it didnt hurt very much when i had it only when i ate or bit down
I got a jump scare when i saw it for the first time
I'm 14 and ive a little ball sort of thing on the corner of my mouth at right side it hurts so bad
I’m 12 and having this, it only hurts if I touch it and it has a VERY VERY slight ache all the time but it’s basically unnoticeable pain
When I have children of my own I'm gonna make them chew mastic gum for 5 mins every day also.
theres a flap but it doesn’t have irruptions but it hurts to eat and touch
I’m scared. I know it’s infected but how can I tell my parents.
I don’t understand why I’m having this issue when I had my wisdom teeth removal 2 years ago all 4 smh 😢
Same
Yeah, I changed my toothbrush (which is a bit bigger) and accidentally slammed the tip right above my wisdom tooth.
Thankfully, potato soups are quick to make, easy to eat, and tasty enough.
@jagseerbrar8447 same boat here 😭
