A reissue of the LP arrived today. Right now I'm living through a family trauma that is raw. Too raw to accompany a listen to Bill's masterpiece at this moment. Very, very respectful review, Dereck. Appreciated.
I need to get that Bill Fay reissue. I have it on cd but would live the record version. Love it when you muse on life in general Dereck, you look really comfortable today! All the best James
Dereck, you are absolutely spot on with your review of Bill Fay's 'Time of the last Persecution'. Its a corker of an album, which should be compulsory listening for most music fans. If you haven't tried "People are Life" your missing out on yet another classic. Enjoy.
Enjoyed this, Dereck. Don't know if you caught my feature on Life Is People, but man his music hits me hard. I just think that his music, and his words, makes the world a little bit better of a place. - Bret
Really would love to get that reissue. When I get some money I think i'll order a copy. Have you heard his self titled album from the same year? An absolute masterpiece. Think Three Men with Beards reissued that too. I don't really compare Bill Fay with Dylan. I think they are very different artists. I think maybe a lot of Dylan's work has been cheapened by the almost cult following he now has, maybe unfairly. But I will always love each for different reasons. Cheers Dereck.
Dereck, re your slow computer. Google "Advanced SystemCare". It is free software that cleans up your computer and improves it's performance. It helped my 8 year old Dell. Worth a try.
This just as a video is worth watching even before you know Bill Fay's music
bill fay is astonishing.at the time of release years ago i bought the reissues right away.
we have a lot in common.
I feel the same, his music has a very direct message that conveys a deeper awareness of our essential nature. 🙏 Thankyou

I'm getting the impression that this Bill Fay album is very introspective. Sounds like quite a moving album!!!

Bill fay is my favourite musician by far. Any recommendations for similar artists?
Michael Chapman I think would fit here. He has a beautiful song called goodbye to monday night. Ted Lucas would be another.
Robert Pollard!
I can see why they're night be similar. But ultimately they're different and Id llove to get a copy
