Love how you begin this video with "one more?" just to let us know you played more songs in this session and we are tortured souls not being able to hear them. This is tremendous.
This is beyond anything even emo esque I feel like Pinegrove is literally like their own genre literally in their own category they fell into the emo revival scene but I honestly think they are way beyond that Evan is like the conor oberst of this generation he is far from limited this kid could do anything in any style and it Would sound amazing and very original this kid is beyond talented beyond what words could even describe
@@lasassoroxanne2750 that’s a good comparison. I don’t really like emo music (unless Bright Eyes and Modest Mouse count) and Pinegrove really transcends that genre-label
Honestly so incredibly excited for this album! I feel like I've grown along with your music. This seems to be a brighter part of my life, and a song to match it! 💕
💯💯💯💯 this album would've done great things for them if the pandemic hadn't completely killed it upon release. they had a great label behind them ready to throw a lot of money and power behind this album and then the world shut down and they couldn't tour to support it like it needed. It was heartbreaking to see it go unnoticed
That night when I lifted my head up And I was seeing what was trembling there On the edge of my restless eyelid On the tip of the horizon's lash On the lip of collapsing letter In the lap of confusing moon I'm reduced to an estranged illusion I'm consumed by all the shit in my room Well then maybe if you pick my room up Carve a path in my moonlit floor Through the colors I adorn my body with In ritual life I adore Now a daisy Julie just get up Put on a sweater from the day before Like you said it's got to get better I wear my shadow like a uniform I'm torn right through Divided right in two So while I do align my library By the colors on the spine of my books When I'm looking for a resolution But there's wreckage everywhere I look And there's brambles scratching at the window And there's silver shining on the thorns I could've sworn the moon's singing to me Shining a phase so strange and torn Now the stars look fake and strung up And the colors on the floor are worn And the hues on my body are muted In the shadow of my uniform I'm torn right through Divided right in two I'm lost without using The brightest light I knew That I knew
tacos.*・。゚* he never sexually assaulted anyone that’s a lie.. the woman who originally claimed that he had revealed that it was a false accusation. Here’s what really happened- they were in a relationship and she cheated on him and after they talked it through she accused him of verbal abuse
Standard!! Looks like it starts with C/E, F, and has Am in there too I think it’s just in the key of C and those shapes! I could get it tabbed soon maybe
@@JoshHinrichs-vv2ft Those chords are in the full band version, which is standard tuning and capo'd at the 2nd fret. But here he's getting to some of those chords by moving up and down the neck in what looks like an F shape. It gives it a little something extra, but I can't quite figure it out.
Drop d tuning. There's an open c but use your thumb to hit the second fret on the 6th string (c/e). For the f chord he bars 456 on the third fret and hits second string first fret. You can slide that up the neck for the A minor and G, But he uses open chords for A minor and G during the chorus. During the outro/final chorus he uses that c/e and then adds a b note before switching to the f shape (third string, forth fret) with his pinky. Happy playing! P.s. I'm self taught so I'm sorry if my terminology is a bit off/confusing
This is an incredible song, although for the sake of the music industry, not a strong single. I like that we are living in 2020 though and each song can have a life and fanbase of its own. Like others as well, the acoustic version of his writing is oftentimes better than the full ensemble. I should write for pitchfork

I didn’t know emo-esque music could survive into the 2020s. Somehow as a former moody early 2000s emo kid this song brings me some comfort.

emo music is really shitty acousticy pop punk shit from 98-2004ish. Pinegrove is an alt-country band. let’s user proper genre names
I love the storytelling nature of Evan's writing; the same reason I adore Andy Shauf!
1:14 - even Evan was shocked at how good that run was.
Haha I was hoping this comment was already here. so good!

I come back to this regularly, just amazing.
absolutely obsessed with this
I don't how every live/acoustic performance is even better than the original version... Like how?
2:20 & on is like another universe in another dimension
Love a songwriter that can make it happen...
just when I finally stop listening to the single nonstop, this comes out and blows me away, evan's got me fucked up

That first ‘divided’ was absolute pengers
Love his voice soo much. Soo good

acoustic version of all the songs please on the new album
And on streaming!
Needed this today, thank you
Beautiful. So excited to see you guys in Dallas in a few months!
The talent is through the roof!
God bless dude. Would love to see more acoustic covers or some breakdowns of their lyrics/melodies. Can't wait for Marigold!!
it’s not a “cover“ when the person who wrote the song is singing it just for clarification since you apparently don’t know that
