Harness Racing has been and still is poorly administered and our great sport is in terminal decline, we do not even have a metropolitan track in Melbourne or Sydney. Both Melton and Menangle are white elephants. There is an answer but no one in the controlling bodies of each state can see the trees from the forest.

Good question but alas when people take this drastic step a myriad of pressure points push them into a dark depression for which at the time they see no way out. He was a great loss to the sport, one of a kind and doubt we will see another.
My cousin killed himself because of his wife cheating on him with other drivers but other people think it was gambling debts but it wasn't it hit my uncle hard who died not long after
