That does not strengthen the argument of my in-laws( the Mamprusis) the name could be mamprule just as we have names in akan for towns and villages in the Ewe parts of Volta Region. In Ashanti region we have several villages named after the people who first settled there or in the native languages of the first settlers mostly northerners and our brethren from sahel regions. This does not make them the allodial owners of the lands they occupy. The history of Bawku that my father gave me a historical account was deep but the argument I heard from the lawyer representing the Mamprusis faction was equally insightful. He gave very detailed historical account of the origin of the Bawku chieftaincy issue which has compelled me to start reassessing the oral account of my late father who was well versed in the history of Bissah and Kusalsi. You need to understand tradition ,the mamprusi king has to be present even in Burkina fasso to mourn the mossi king and bless the newly installed, traditional boundaries exceed and are older than the white man boundary.
