i was discharged from the hospital about a week ago from a rare, severe case of pneumonia. i’m a healthy, active 18 year old who just got unlucky, i guess! my lungs & oxygen levels are still compromised and vulnerable, so i was instructed not to be in public for the foreseeable future. i used to love doing school work and reading at local cafes - the atmosphere kept me alive & appreciative for the simplicity of humanity. i can’t do that anymore, and it’s been very hard.
living vicariously through you and your channel, every cafe, every bus ride, every walk, every museum - it has been a breath of fresh air to me.
thank you for taking us with you through your life! keep creating & keep exploring xx - abby.

Hi Abby! I really hope you're doing better! I just wanted to pop in and say you are not alone in this. I too have a compromised lung and immune system which landed me in the hospital twice and it's been touch and go for the past 3 years. Ive had to refrain from public spaces all this time. It was really hard not seeing friends, explore and enjoy my youth but I've been able to go to a small park near my home last week! First time in 2 years and i felt so free! Legit skipped around as a 29 year old and didn't care if neighbors witnessed my crazy exuberance 😂. I still have to limit and avoid public spaces as much as possible because of covid always lingering around, but have faith, stay positive and have hobbies and interests that you can do! TH-cam vlogs like Cari's have truly saved me from feeling isolated from the world. Can't wait for us to explore the world and the endless possibilities again! We will prevail!! ❤❤❤

omg I already commented but I just wanted to say that it's so easy to feel pressured to be okay or feel a certain way but when life throws you curve balls and you start to feel anything other than happy or excited to explore and go out and live life; it makes you start to feel weird. I love the honesty and your ability to stay true to yourself, and take time when you need it! I've stopped myself from doing things sometimes just because it didn't feel right and it's worse when you try to force it anyways. Life is wild sometimes but what a rollercoaster it is to look back on it and see the times when you tried to ignore your own self care. I'm glad you took some time for yourself without forcing more content or vlog things. We're all people just living at the end of the day! I think the humanity and experiences life offers us is part of what makes watching vlogs so fun anyway, I watch because it's like exploring life in a different setting! (And life's not always one color or feeling). I appreciate the realness more than the extra content

파주를 가끔 갑니다. 지지향 게스트하우스를 이용하기 위해 1박2일 시간을 내어 방문하는데 하루정도 모든 디지털에서 떨어져 조용한 시간을 보내고 싶을 때 찾아갑니다. 처음 파주 출판도시가 만들어지던 90년 후반 공사장 아르바이트를 위해 방문했고 이후 정신적 고요함이 필요할 때 찾아갑니다. 외국인이 알기 어려운 지역인데 찾아가셨다는건 대단하신 것 같습니다. 혹시 여름에 방문 계획있는 외국인들은 가급적 말라리아 예방 주사를 맞고 방문하길 권고합니다. 파주는 북한 접경 지역이라 북한에서 내려오는 모기에 말라리아가 많습니다.

It’s actually such good timing to see this because I’m doing a lot of traveling right now and I had a few days where I just burned out and was filled with stress and anxiety. For me, I needed to hit the brakes and stay “home” for a bit to re-center myself. Seeing that you were experiencing similar emotions and really not feeling like yourself, even though in a different context, is comforting in that I feel less alone in my struggles. I would recommend Khan Academy for maths and molecular biology, I love Khan academy because they have accessible quizzes. If anyone knows a platform for organic chemistry I would be thankful.

thank you! it wasnt necessarily negative comments but more like unsolicited advise/opinions/etc in a time when i really just needed to exist in my own head without others giving their two cents haha feeling much better now!
It is…something, that so many people take up space when it comes to taking photos for social media.
When I was in Amsterdam last year, I felt so self conscious of taking photos of art in the museums; meanwhile, people were having full blown photo shoots in front of art pieces with all the confidence and lack of special awareness in the world. 😅
In korea we’ve had a few cases in recent years of people destroying art because they were focused on getting a picture and its so sad 😂🥲

16:58 I feel like podcasts have definitely filled this desire in many people, there are so many niche topics explored in long form that are easy to digest and listen to on your commute. But of course these are not vetted/fact checked in the way your courses are.
I also finished high school without any scientific subject. No biology, no chemistry and only 2 hours of basic math (which i still managed to fail). Instead I had 5 different languages, lots of history, geography, art&architecture and even vinology. But when I was 30 I decided to change my career from airline staff to nurse! I took my classes in selfstudy since i was still working full time. I only had to be in school for my practical courses or if i had any questions. Well...there was biochemistry and i didnt understand a word of that course. So I went to school to ask for help. My professor was like 'the things you don't understand is basic knowledge! You learned this in high school' and than I had to explain I actually didn't 😂😂

I had been to Paju once back in winter 2019 and it was already a ghost town back then 😂. I know there were ppl doing their own things in the building but felt like I was the only living thing there. Still love the atmosphere of the city and the building are so interesting. Just walked around the town and had my ME time was pretty satisfied.

I left school recently and that feeling of AHHHHHHHHHHH that is adulthood (or atleast the realisation that I have to be an adult now) is really starting to kick in. I just made a 37 min. travel vlog, and I just want to say, I have the deepest respect for your ability to output such long, well edited vlogs every single week, for so long. Your consistency is something to be envious of, for real. Thumbs up for that. I imagine it must be easier to be consistent when you actually have an audience wanting to watch your vlogs, unlike me, but still. I wish I had the same discipline, but I just suck at being consistent, and I get so discouraged when my videos only get like 100-500 views on average... 😪

Your complaining was justified, I would NOT move in a museum if it's because someone wnats to take a picture 🤯 I sometime wait a good five minutes to take a picture in the street to catch the moment where it's empty, I'd never dare to disturb the flow of the place because I want to take a picture, I can't even understand how somebody would do that in a museum.
