You can tell immediately, see the fitment inside port ?? WTF, use late model 1000cc intake boots (much better design & sealing) don't need to do any of this.....
I would never use a rubber band seal on an o-ring head. The o-ring style heads do not have enough meat sticking out for the rubber band to seal effectively. When you tighten the clamp down, the rubber band squeezes down into the recess for the o-ring and effectively pushes the manifold away from the head. You can buy plastic rings to fill the recess for the o-ring, they don't work worth a shit and deform and collapse after a period of time. A carefully installed o-ring with a stainless steel t-bolt band clamp seals just fine on an o-ring head. I have actually pressure tested the installed o-rings and band clamps just to check the sealing and they pass with no leaks.
Great professional looking job! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks...
Great work Gary, it's A bugger being on the other side of the world
I suspect parts are hard to find and I know shipping is very expensive. I guess you have to be dedicated overseas to stick with old iron.
Great videos. Really enjoy and big help. Thank you
Glad you like them!
Great Job
Thanks, I've done several of these now, it really seems to work well.
The free intake repair has been claimed!!!
Great repair !!
Yes, that is a satisfying repair to do.
Interesting... I've seen them welded and redressed, but not too many weld cast these days (I wouldn't do ti). Good job!
I've been tempted to try to weld cast, one of these days I'll give it a go. Maybe do a video on it.
I have a head that needs that repair.

@@IronHeadCycle Seen this done recently. Like you said pushes intake out of alignment doesn’t seal at all
@@jj4414 The o-ring manifold with stainless steel t-bolt clamps is the best arrangement.
