As a Georgia resident, I can say that you have done one of the most difficult things there is. Killing a mature Georgia Mountain Buck. Killing 2 bucks and a hog on the same trip. Hunt of a lifetime. Congrats.
That would be a tremendous buck anywhere but that is a MONSTER for Georgia. I hunted there a several years ago. It is tough hunting. This has been the best year of THP ever and it was great in the past. The Hunting Public has become the premier hunting channel. Period. Congratulations on a tremendous buck and a fabulous season! Well done.
In all fairness I only hunted one year. It was in Harris county and a little in Troup county. I apologize if I offended you. I didn't mean to diminish or marginalize the hunting in Georgia. I just know that compared to hunting "farm country" in Missouri, the hills of Georgia are a lot more work. I meant it as a compliment to those of you who brave those mountains. @@johnmcmorris1170 You're 100% correct. I killed a nice pig on the same wma they were on in this video, and I would argue this country is the toughest hunting in the Southeast United States. Deer like this are definitely not an everyday thing, except for those South Georgia cornfield hunters.
@@levivoyles5924 Yup I’d say western nc, northern ga are some of the toughest whitetail hunting. Western nc mountains are absolutely massive and deer densities are low with extremely high bear densities. It’s a crazy place.

This episode, like many others, proves the integrity of the production. Including footage of a missed shot such as that, showing the reality of buck fever...even for top notch guys like Warb, and finishing it off with the fellas at the check station. Yep, this will continue to be my favorite channel to watch.
I miss check stations. With the online check in, it's simple and quick. What we miss is the fellowship though. It's pretty much lost on the younger generation.
Stop cleaning the smoke pole after every shot. Spend some time shooting them like you do tuning arrows and you will see a slightly fouled barrel may actually tighten your groups

What floors me is how patient and methodical you guys get when you’re on cool, big bucks. The excitement is there but you burn through it and continue hunting. I can’t tell you how many time I’ve lost it over the years on first sight of a big deer. Nothing can teach that but experience.
THP brings every hunt, every success, every failure, and all 'the feels' to life. You guys have created something really special and most of us live your hunts with you...and it is awesome! Always rooting for your success.
Yea because they don’t only show the monster buck that just happened to walk out and made the prefect shot and it’s over in 5 min. They show real life.
You know what gets me is the vast majority of the nation looks down at gun hunting but when you get back in the National Forest laurel mountain thickets of Western Virginia, West Va, Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, North Georgia, and so on its a whole different ball game. To me it is one of the greatest challenges in whitetail hunting. Thin deer populations with very little habitat diversity, endless bedding... Then again it is in my blood being born and raised in Western Va. I honestly wouldn’t trade it for the best Midwest hunting. The mountains are in my blood. I love it. It’s great to see some similar mountain hunting on main stream. Good Job THP. Congrats Warb!!
Ive hunted these mountains my entire life and can count on my hands how many times Ive had encounters with a buck of that caliber and still haven't been able to punch a tag on one. It was a pleasure meeting you fellas and loved seeing yall have such great success.

I have watched most of y’all’s video and I do mean most of them, there are some great videos but this one is my favorite. Backpacking that giant out of those mountains was as epic as it gets.
This is such a refreshing thing to watch when you have so many other clowns running around with goofy face paint and talking about "cull bucks" like they actually passed high school science.
The memories made in this video are only things you can appreciate by being in that moment! Love life and go appreciate what nature has to offer! There was so much more they experienced in this video then what was explained! You only got a taste of what those guys truly found in those woods that day! The feeling he had when he got back to camp is something you can only experience by being in the moment. Hunters are the best conservatives of nature!! Yes we take from the land but we feed our family and the memories you make along the way with the ones you care about are priceless!!! Awesome vid and congratulations on your trophy whitetail!!! I'm from North GA and typically hunt down south, but I'm proud to see one of my favorite TH-cam channels hunting in my back yard. Congratulations on a stud of buck. I've only seen a handful of bucks that big and and about half as many on the ground.

Had a crazy similar hunt when I took my buddy out for his first hunt in the hill country of northern Michigan. I bumped the buck earlier in the week scouting and knew he was in there, so we setup on a valley dumping out of a grass field and this 10 point chased a 6 point and a spike all over the valley and bedded down with the doe the 6 point was tending several times on the opposite ridge side. He then found a final napping spot about 70 yards right in front of us in the valley. Chad notched his first tag, on his first weekend and his first backpack hunt.
Congratulations Aaron, nobody deserves a buck like that more than you. Y'all continue to amaze us with your hunting strategy and ability to pull off these hunts with cameras in tow. Way to go and keep em coming.
Really enjoyed watching the Georgia Trip. Will have to say the theme I picked up on throughout this years tour is MRS "Most Recent Sign". No need sitting where there is no fresh sign. Let's keep moving. Aaron said it at the beginning of the video, back in one of the better areas = the best fresh sign.

been living in GA my whole life... bucks like that don't appear in the mountains too often. Most trophies are shot south of Atlanta. This is so cool to see.

Greg's perspective (both cinematically and his wealth of knowledge) behind his camera brought a whole new aspect to the hunt. Love the idea of a 3 man crew (yes I know its not feasible on all humt but man what an exciting hunt). The memories made in this video are only things you can appreciate by being in that moment! Love life and go appreciate what nature has to offer! There was so much more they experienced in this video then what was explained! You only got a taste of what those guys truly found in those woods that day! The feeling he had when he got back to camp is something you can only experience by being in the moment. Hunters are the best conservatives of nature!! Yes we take from the land but we feed our family and the memories you make along the way with the ones you care about are priceless!!! Awesome vid and congratulations on your trophy whitetail!!! Props to you and your crew!!!

I'm from North GA and typically hunt down south, but I'm proud to see one of my favorite TH-cam channels hunting in my back yard. Congratulations on a stud of buck. I've only seen a handful of bucks that big and and about half as many on the ground.

Had a crazy similar hunt when I took my buddy out for his first hunt in the hill country of northern Michigan. I bumped the buck earlier in the week scouting and knew he was in there, so we setup on a valley dumping out of a grass field and this 10 point chased a 6 point and a spike all over the valley and bedded down with the doe the 6 point was tending several times on the opposite ridge side. He then found a final napping spot about 70 yards right in front of us in the valley. Chad notched his first tag, on his first weekend and his first backpack hunt.
Congratulations Aaron, nobody deserves a buck like that more than you. Y'all continue to amaze us with your hunting strategy and ability to pull off these hunts with cameras in tow. Way to go and keep em coming.
Really enjoyed watching the Georgia Trip. Will have to say the theme I picked up on throughout this years tour is MRS "Most Recent Sign". No need sitting where there is no fresh sign. Let's keep moving. Aaron said it at the beginning of the video, back in one of the better areas = the best fresh sign.

Love y'alls unselfishness and camaraderie for one another! Great job keeping up with Aaron Gooch and getting all the excellent footage! Greg's perspective (both cinematically and his wealth of knowledge) behind his camera brought a whole new aspect to the hunt. Love the idea of a 3 man crew (yes I know its not feasible on all humt but man what an exciting hunt). You guys have so much knowledge on whitetail hunting, thank you for sharing with all of us and bringing us along on the hunts!
