Tenho o privilégio e honra de montar um Lusitano quase todos os dias na força militar e policial que faço parte e realmente estes cavalos são impressionantes!

Awesome presentation. Very professional video, the voice of Tom Selleck just wrap the deal.
So well presented the noble Lusitano horse.
Whoever has the chance to see these amazing horses, run in the lands of Portugal will never forget the image. ;-)
Trust me on this, it's beautiful. :-)
Now that some got acquainted with the Lusitano Horse and it's long and primordial lineage. Let's not forget the interesting Garranos from Gerês. Small, wild and generally not connect with any nobility image. Other than the wild roaming breeds the once covered the continent.
It's time to open your spirit to other amazing Portuguese animals, also ancient and keen to accompany men through out history.
I'm talking about, Ox and dog's breeds also among the most faithful Men found on this Earth.
The first one's can be traced back to the auroch ox. That once roam the wild Iberia and to this day can be seen in rock paintings made by our distant ancestors.
The other, the traditional Portuguese dog breeds are nothing short. Of some of the most faithful work companions men ever found. People usually just remember US "first dogs" of Obama. The awesome "Portuguese water dog".
Or never realize the most spread breed of dog on this planet. The Labrador Retriever, is Portuguese to the bone. Even it's name from the navigator "João Fernandes Lavrador" which also lend the name to the Canadian province. In fact nearby there's another one the also quite awesome. The beautiful and powerful "Terra Nova" dogs, from Terra Nova (NewFoundLand) also with a Portuguese name and lineage. But there's so many more, the amazing "Serra da Estrela" described by Romans, "Serrra d'Aires", "Castro Laboreiro"... :-)
Last by not least. RIP "Mestre" João Oliveira.

Wonderful presentation of Lusitanos at Robertson Ranch! I had the good fortune to take lessons with Sr. Joao Oliveira in Portugal on Fra Miltone, the last Lusitano trained by his father, Mestre Nuno Oliveira! They are both sadly missed. Great to know the tradition continues at Robertson Lusitanos!

The Lusitano is an amazing horse and has clearly outperformed his Spanish brother in the last decades, but lets not forget that they differentiated as a breed in the 1960’s. This video is more fantasy than fact and presents an amazing oversimplification of the history of this beautiful horse that is full of errors and outright inventions.

the breed from which the Lusitano was stablished was already separated since more than three centuries ago in certain 'coudelarias' - but the official separation happened only in the 60's

      O Lusitano é português não é espanhol.

thatb is true, but why not embellish a bit - to have a mythology for a horse lineage gives more joy to have a lusitano
