just turned twenty and im so grateful to have found Made it Out. its not easy to find people who make you feel understood and hear people discuss topics that you resonate with as a lesbian, but you somehow manage to hit the mark every episode. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Happy Birthday 🎉 🎂 🌈✨️🧡 As much as I wish Made it Out and so many other valuable resources were available when I was 20, I'm so happy you & other young lesbians/queers have this 💖
I love how much this episode was about just being your own self in your fashion, the queer commuinty where I live has such a specific way to "dress and be gay" and I find it so annoying because I don't fit into a style box, I never have. Its nice to know there is no "right" way to dress or no "right" way to be gay
I'm trying to figure out my style and feelings about it, finding yourself through clothes. This ep helped a lot! Thanks for the release! This ep is exactly what I needed right now 🥰
I needed this video so much! I’m a 29 years old, freshly out bi/lesbian French woman, in between two chapters of my life with all of my clothes in three suitcases and an urging feeling to figure out my style and buy new clothes! I legit booked a 5 days trip to Paris with my cousin two days ago just to shop new clothes! AND I’m invited to a wedding in July and was nervous about what to wear 😂 I related so much to this conversation and I feel so much more inspired now, to enter this new chapter of my life ☺️
Not the Google sheet, lol! That was so intense but I’m that person tbh. Now I wonder if Kej is a planner by profession because that Google sheet was hella impressive. 😂
That was sooo much excellent advice! Like, Kej said she doesn't have it all figured out, yet she had such a competent, detailed and informative answer to every single one of Mal's questions. I'm hella impressed. 🙌❤️🙏
Hey Mal and Kaj,thank you Mal for another lovely episode this show makes my Tuesday, I've been waiting for a notification so i watch this lovely episode ❤
30:46 I feel like if you don’t want to be too butch, but also don’t want to be too femme, a jumpsuit is a good option. But finding a good one that is formal enough is the hard part.
This ep was overwhelming...in a good way. I learnt a lot about style/fashion as I'm still figuring that out as sum1 who leans more tomboyish. On the topic of weddings, I love the middle ground option Kej was talking about. So many gems to take away from this ep. Wait Mal, the musical episode is where Greys Anatomy lost you?🤣 Come on you gotta give allowance for that one musical ep (said by someone that doesn't like musicals)😂
This is super interesting. I believe it’s really where you’re shopping and how open minded people are to style. Gay or not. I was shopping for a suit and I was in the men’s section asking for assistance and the workers were like you’re not supposed to be here you’re a woman. I’ve constantly been shut down for how I present myself and referred somewhere else or just not accepted. Which presents itself as a barrier. Which I realized not many people around me face. I love the way I dress. I find going out in public and searching for the style particularly asking associates to help never really aided me. This is in reference to 22:37. I hope a mass amount of acceptance of expression is considered and safer spaces can be provided all around. Thanks for sharing ❤
I have the same problem with the suit, I am 5'3 as well. You have to find a jacket that is not that classic fit, like long sleeves and cropped top/ long top and shorter sleeves. And also, get them tailored to you body, with you find something that's good on the sleeves but not good on the torso you can take to the tailor to make the hole piece come together... Also, thrift shops are very good for making you get over numbers, if you like something and it's cheap you can make anything work. ❤
I wore a lot of skirts and tshirts in my 20s . Now I like to wear whatever is comfy. Polos and oxford shirts are nice. I enjoy wearing T shirts with dogs on it most from colombia sportsware.
I would loveee an episode with just u Mal, or with Mathilde too, speaking in depth about your journey, especially about how we are so indoctrinated to like men that our own desires often escape ourselves
Interesting topic - I think you have to be careful about wearing colors that wash you out, even if you love the colors…Is it common in the US to wear hats indoors?
Shout out to the Queers who live in towns where if they dressed authetically, they would get harrassed because there's such a strong societal need for everyone to conform. ❤
i don't know if it's all on this podcast or other lesbian spaces but i finally had to google jacob elordi today (of course i spelled it wrong first), kinda curious why he comes up so much among queer women
Hi #madeitoutpodcast can I come on the next show if #Mathilde is not? 🤣 I kinda have to change the tactics now because Mathilde is further and further away 😅

I love this topic n to hear she uses Jacob as a jumping point for clothes instead of all the time using another woman. Love it.
Hey Mal and Kaj,thank you Mal for another lovely episode this show makes my Tuesday, I've been waiting for a notification so i watch this lovely episode ❤
Every podcast just feels like it came right on time! So interesting! Love the analysis and point of you here!

Fabulous episode. Kej was delightful. Was a much needed lesson in fashion and style for me. Great job Mal.
Creating your own style is important to who you are as a person . it gives you value and confidence to grow into your look.

Being 4’11 and having a preppy 12 year old boy aesthetic is my life challenge ✌️

Love the show. A friend asked why I felt the patriarchy more acutely than straight women. This is one of the reasons.

Can u feel how u are in a state of no gender during podcasts? Pure consciousness
This is ur true identity
Mal don't be a hater give that Grey's Anatomy critique some context. It was the musical episode they were supposed to be singing lol U haul for sure!
Interesting topic - I think you have to be careful about wearing colors that wash you out, even if you love the colors…Is it common in the US to wear hats indoors?
i'm curious why it would matter if you look "washed out" if the colors make you happy and you like how you look.

As much as I love conversations about fashion, I don't understand how they have to do with sexuality.
Maybe cause fashion has to do with expressing yourself and sexuality is part of identity
i'm so early 😐
😎😃😊😜😍😘💖🌹
Ladies,
Please come to Harajuku in Tokyo. You'll find gender fluidity, genderless, x gender, nonbinary fashion all over.
Do people need to know about your sexuality?
