  • Officially announced earlier this year, the new #Fantic #Caballero 700 cements itself as the flagship bike in Fantic’s retro scrambler range.
    The new Fantic Caballero#700 is still a funky-looking street #scrambler, as is the case with the Caballero 500, although beneath the bodywork there are a host of big differences between the two models. To get under the skin of the new bike, Visordown sent Toad to the pretty county of Kent, for an on-road and light off-road test of the new retro machine.

    I had the 500 Scrambler in Paris for a while and it's a hoot to ride, easy to weave through traffic, great when you thrash it, light as a feather and the seat isn't quite as bad as it looks. I like what they"ve done to the 700, nice review!

    As an allrounder bike it's among the best options on the market in my view.

    I really like that bike a lot. That great engine but with the nicer looking tank and cool high exhaust. I would seriously consider one of those for the fun paved mountain roads and gravel road I live on.

    The Caballero 700 is such a beautiful package, why would you need more in a world where all ADV bikes are becoming increasingly heavy?

      there is an argument for that, as I said, it was nice to get on a bike without too much tech and just ride!

    I want one. But there are no dealers in my area. I wish Honda would make a light scrambler like this with their new 750 parrallel twin.

    I'd rather have an XSR700. I like the Fantic, though. I'd rather like one of the 450cc ones. I'm sure the Fantic 700 gets its increased low-end grunt mainly from the lower gearing. And I don't like buzzy bikes. Are the tyres tubeless? They don't look like it.
    Good review, although I wish you'd drop the background music. Nick J

    • @visordown
      @visordown  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, it's a bit better specced then the XSR and the Tribute, USD (that have decent rebound damping!) and Brembo stoppers - plus you get some electronics to play with.

    One of the first things I would change is rip off the name caballero from the tank and put Yamaha on it. It looks good, but why should I not get the Tenere instead, which also looks good and performs a lot better then this toy.

    • @thejamms1694
      @thejamms1694 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've got a Tenere. It's about 7cm taller seat and the centre of gravity higher because of the ground clearance, engine position and fuel tank. At 171cm height, it is a challenge for me when moving slowly - out on the road, no problem, but in tighter slower situations (incl. off road) quite difficult. This Caballero is a better prospect, although it will never go the off-road places the Tenere can. Would I get one? Yes, because it would manage tours and very unchallenging off-road and still have the bulletproof CP2 motor. The 2 bikes are different and only share an engine as a comparison point.

      la componentistica è il telaio sono italiani non yamaha come il motore cp2 .. e per quanto riguarda il nome caballero sul serbatoio non dovresti toccarlo, per te è solo un nome per noi in Italia e un mito, questa moto è un omaggio alla mitica fantic caballero degli anni 70..il sogno dei ragazzi di quellepoca, capisco che non essendo italiano caballero non ti dice nulla.. per noi è un ricordo del passato
