One of Hisaishi's most famous piano pieces, Summer from the film "Kikujiro" by Takeshi Kitano.
A bit different from what I usually post, but I've always loved Hisaishi's film scores in his Studio Ghibli films 😍 I recorded this for a Japanese "online recital" which I gave a couple of days ago 😊 Hope you like it!

If we can’t get a real summer yet, music is the next best thing. It reminds me of a market area in summer, street side cafes, shopping, a produce stand, people walking with friends and family talking and laughing.

Similar to our friend in Chicago, We are having record breaking freezing temperatures here in Texas. So this was very welcome. It’s great to see your versatility. I loved the glissando effect, It was like your fingers were floating over the keyboard, I would love to hear more from this composer.☀️💐💐💐👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️
Thank you David! It's quite cold here in the UK too, but nowhere near as cold as some places in the States! I don't play much by Jo Hisaishi, but I'll have a look at some of his other pieces 😊

As I sit here in the Chicago suburbs, it is 9° F with blowing snow. After listening to you play, I imagine that in my head I'm outside with all the trees and beautiful flowers swaying in a summer breeze in the sunshine.

I love your interpretation of this song. I learned to play this song 2 years ago, and wasn't particularly impressed with it. I saw you playing this piece a month ago and now I have been so inspired by it and have been practicing to play it to my liking. Jo Hisaishi is very famous in Japan for his compositions of the theme music for
Ghibli animations. One of my favorite is "Howl’s moving castle" waltz.

George, Richard here in a very, very coollldddd Texas. Have never seen anything like it in N. Texas. Below zero temperatures this morning-not a record as -11 was recorded in 1899, but the length of below freezing and this low temps for a week+ is a record. And, I love every minute of it.
Now as to this wonderful performance, you just warmed up my bedroom by at least 10º F. I am not familiar with this Japanese composer, but reading the comments, he apparently is very popular in Japan and this piece is well know as well. What makes it so beautiful, of course, it the man who was playing it-you, George. Your light touch, the glissando-like run over the keyboard made me smile. As always, you surprise and emote such feeling with each and every performance. And, as I once said many moons ago, your breadth of composers is ever deepening. I apologize for not being around much, but now I am back. Keep it coming.
