    Also, replace those rubber supply lines to the washer with steel braided lines. Replace that soft flex vent hose for the dryer with a stiff flex line.
    Fyi, the soft flex dryer vents are against code. If something happens, home owners insurance won't cover it.

    I questioned the use of the pallet wood for the counter top but have to say, it turned out really nice. Well done Jay!

    If you rip off pallets regularly get yourself a roughneck pallet buster. Also great for demo.

    I love how many windows 🪟 you have in your laundry room! 😍 Mine is interior attached to my master closet.
    I painted the walls the color of the Caribbean ocean blue, so that any time I feel the need for a vacation, I go to the laundry room. 😉🤣

    Hopefully you cleaned the dryer vent hose while you had it pulled out. Also, i always change the water supply hoses if they’ve been used for a while - hopefully preventing a hose burst (flooding event) in the house. Great job Jason. Happy Wife = Happy Life is something that should always be followed 🤣🤣

    Hey Jay, I’m a little late to comment, but I hope you will consider changing the hoses to your washing machine. Buy the silicone reinforced hoses. They will last 20 years. Do not buy the braided stainless steel lines. They have a cheesy rubber tube that can fail. I say this from experience. Retired firefighter who has pumped out more that my share of homes from washing machine hose failure.

    You brave soul! When I had a washer die on me and the fix was almost the cost of a new one. I couldn't just buy a new washer I had to buy a set, both Washer/dryer or it would of drove me insane looking at them. The financial discipline you are displaying right now is astonishing!

    The pallet wood counter top does look nice

  • @mrthiefy
    @mrthiefy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    oh I guess I should say add some dirty towels in there to even out the load because the motor has a sensor on it and if it needs to rev up to lift the clothes vertically it notices it and knows it's off balance so you need to have a counterbalance which adding more towels will do. you can't just wash one towel at a time or one rug or whatever that was in there.

  • @JHaNG-

  • @doctorwork
    @doctorwork ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wouldn't it have been so much easier to just fix the washer, assuming anything was actually wrong with it? It looks relatively new. It's a shame to throw it away. Unless the motor is dead, pretty much anything else can be replaced. The drive belt and the drain pump are essentially maintenance items, and are very easy (and cheap) to replace. I just put my second replacement drain pump in my Kenmore front loader, and it's probably 15 years old.
