Update on the red 240sx 1995 we fixed the fuel leak and and it’s running beautiful! Suspension wise we got some free used arms and thru them on! Just needs rear subframe bushings!
I’m always on the fence selling my 98 kouki. But I never will because of the lack of clean examples available. Crazy that semi clean ish s13s that actually ran back in 2017 was 3500 or less. Now 8k+ lol
Why do most of these cars have no front bumper? 5k+ for a scrapheap? Sheer insanity. Crack smokers galore be owning those 240's. Thanks for bringing us back to Earth with your wisdom haha... Cheers
As every day goes on, i both hate the S Chassis more and love it more. There was a clapped 240SX KA24 with a Silvia front end at my local meet and I looked at it for longer than I'd like to admit
My first vehicle in life was a 92 hardbody, V6 4x4 5 speed. It was a great truck up to 235k. Then I messed up the timing doing the water pump job. I was 18 and on a road trip. It was atleast 1 tooth off but still made it a 7 hour drive back from Wyoming. It barley had power enough to climb hills or go down the highway. Got home and took it to a mechanic, he fixed the timing and changed the belt bit it was never the same again. If I only new then what I know now about working on engines I bet that thing would still be running around town.
@@CollectorCarFeed hell yeah . How do I get support you guys... Definitely sending props from out here in Philadelphia. Where s13's get stolen faster than kia/hyundais in Minnesota
due to their condition in terms of how easily they break because of age, i wouldnt call them a high demand item. i kind of killed the market for them via my urethane replicas. i usually sell 60-100 sets a year now.
@@dorkidori the steel brackets to hold the s13 front bumper to fenders? i always took the ones people wanted to throw away for zipties, why i have no clue... never figured out the schassis community while there.
Richard holdener made a video on 4.8s, 5.3s, 6.0s, and 6.2s to see what it takes to make 100hp/ liter and it was much easier with the 4.8 and 5.3, they're not the most desirable engines but with the right camshaft and some bolt ons, they can make respectful NA power numbers, 3k to build a junkyard 4.8 to 450hp vs 3k to have a 350hp used LS1
i have plenty of S14 stuff planned, its just that S14 stuff does NOT sell well in my product line. boils down to the fact that out of the 230k S-Chassis made for US consumption, S13s were 2/3s of what was made. but regardless, ill have quite a few S14 bits dropping over the next year. next S14 item is slated for this summer :) itll be kind of a big deal!
for the 180sx/silvia power folding mirrors: you can swap the mirrors and basses with the USDM ones and it's basically factory 240sx as far as the mirror parts go. Only issue is that the (US) driver side one doesn't quite fold in all the way which is pretty meh. EU/KDM had heater power folding mirrors which would probably just work out the box but never seen 'em anywhere.
@@carfriendsimulator9981 yeah... It's I said you also need to swap the glass with your usdm glass to get the proper magnification. Still pretty meh since doing all that makes the driver's side no longer fold in fully.
They're heavier, they look worse, and they aren't as fun as a vert should be. imo, the slicktop version is always better than the vert version of a car, ex. fc rx7, c5 vette, sn95. but cars built as a vert are fun, ex. miata and mr2 spyder
because theyre overall just terribly made cars. structural rigidity is out the window. they ALL came automatic. the over all build quality of the conversion is substandard... and yeah.
they started out KIND OF making some original items (i still have weighted shift knobs in both of my cars), but their wheels were mostly rep based... especially toward the end of the brand.
Holy shit you guys don't know shit about the ls platform. A 5.3 can be iron or aluminum. The 4.8 generally revs higher than a 5.3. The 4.8 can also be iron or aluminum. The 5.7 are true LS1's. There are no iron factory LS1 5.7's. 6.0's can be aluminum or iron, and all 6.2's are aluminum. Gen 4 has thicker rods and I believe started getting into rectangular ports. They flow more. They also often come with displacement on demand that needs deleting The dude must've had a 5.7 so he can say he has a "real LS1" for bragging rights or something. They usually cost more for that reason. Iron 4.8 and 5.3 use the same block and bore but have different strokes. They are usually the cheapest ones. I got mine for free
still a lot more fun to build a 4cyl or straight 6 turbo that walks a V8... the look on a Dodge Charger or Chevy Camaro owners face after getting served by a 2 liter turbo is absolutely priceless!

The mirror angles aren't optimized for LHD use
@@carfriendsimulator9981
Which is why you swap the JDM base for the usdm base which corrects the angles of the mirrors back to LHD like stock.

5.3s rev higher, and take more boost, but yeah, 350s are better, so fuck 5.3
The Sportmax's are replicas of Nismo LMGTs, are they not?
Not exact rep’s as the centers tried to be different, but the spoke design mirrors LMGT4’s. Rota P45’s were the more blatant knockoff rep of the LMGT4
