"It feels like every time I watch the Bears I'm complaining about someone on the interior of the offensive line."
You and all of Chicago. Welcome to the club.
The bears o-line has permanently changed the sound of my voice from screaming.
Im 170 lbs, and the only way im getting blown up like that is if(when) my knees give out. That was just bad. This is supposed to be a better line, which isnt saying much, and that was the worst intereior i saw this week by far
Id rather break then get ran over like that, thats the wrestler in me, but come on
the bears oline makes me drink.
Hilarious
never thought i'd live to see the day JT would be calling for MORE 85
same but true
@@TheQBSchool regarding the RG, Eberflus said they had both #64 Davis and #71 Bates on limited snap counts as they were both coming back from injuries. Bates was in a competition with Shelton for the center spot until he got hurt in camp but would also be the primary back up for OG. Shame they both looked bad and Shelton even worse!
@@TheQBSchoolrespect 85 ffs
@@jjc5407 personally think Bates takes over C down the road
Dude he is not hurt…this shit makes no sense. We need 85 on the field.
Don’t listen to the idiots who say wild shit in the comments. I appreciate your work, and many others do too.
what is eye opening to me how much of JT's criticism is more so about player personnel than it is about play design, when getsy was the OC last year, every video JT did on the bears, he had an issue with play design, this shows that waldron knows what he is doing, besides the viability of the o-line, these other issues can be fixed over time with more reps.
Getsy play design had me feeling incredibly bad for Fields. Even with his own issues as a QB, he never had a chance in hell with a lot of calls from Getsy
I agree the calls are far better, but the criticisms here aren't the types of things that get fixed after a few weeks. 13 not winning one on ones he should be easily winning isn't going to magically change next week. 2 taking a break on a play where the QB is focused on the opposite side isn't going to change if he's slacking week one with a new QB that's supposedly so superior to Fields. These aren't the types of things that will change unless these guys are benched and that's not happening.
“Dump Truck” part is made me laugh so hard…..it is so funny part of the video. 😂😂😂😂😂
I can't believe how many dump trucks occurred
Trip
Mercy, that offensive line is a NIGHTMARE
He comes the same excuses that the Justin Fields fan club had. Caleb is generationally talented and the best NFL ready QB in the history of football, remember? You’d think he’d know how to manage even with a bad line. Dude is junk.
@@Nick9Threeit’s his first game…. Pump the brakes
@@DAAAAAAAAAAABEARS Wdym? He’s a generational talent that was the most NFL ready QB out of college ever, with all the intangibles, arm talent, and football knowledge. You’d think he would know how to play QB with all those skills. Yet he looked lost, holding the ball too long, missing his reads, missing wide open receivers and overthrowing wide open receivers. Justin Fields could’ve done all that. 😂
@@Nick9Three that’s your fault for getting sucked into the hype so much, dudes a rookie and every single qb struggles at some point their rookie year. He has the talent just needs to settle in.
@@DAAAAAAAAAAABEARS You’re missing the sarcasm. He’s clearly none of that and is a regular Joe QB. He’s gonna be a bottom tier sh*t boy for his whole career. 😂
At the game and literally had the same thought about Keenan Allen. Seemed so weird we kept trying to force the ball to our slowest receivers like Allen and that TE screen for Everett.
Get the ball to Moore and Odunze and Swift in space.
Welcome to the Shane Waldron experience
game ONE. be patient.
@@alecfraser541 He sucks. They need to just fire him already. Start fresh for next year, cos this is looking BAD.. Worst that Getsy
Odunze might need a little more time to be NFL ready, he touched the ball once and promptly fumbled
@@knockgaming7637this is not worse than getsy😭😭 never say that again pls
“Some interior pressure” he says….
Video evidence: Left Guard is actively engaging in trying to take a nap in mid play, by laying on his back and trying to use a DT as his blanket. 😂😂
We will not rest until the Matt Stafford master class analysis is shown 😤.
Yea he was looking like a conductor out there.

Low key my favorite videos are when JT just roasts players. The linemen getting dump trucked was so funny.
You are heavily welcomed as an interim bears fan. We appreciate the breakdowns for the Bears. Bear Down thanks
What a find your channel was today. Been a football fan for 20 years, it's great learning new things from smart, experienced no B/S football analysis like this.
The offensive line had me crying.
The off the defender's shoulderpad to Rome who makes a great play only to instantly fumble it and even after all that, somehow, we come away with the ball is this ENTIRE game, the most Chicago Bearsiest win imaginable, encapsulated in one play.
Being a bears fan is basically losses and then an occasional "we win, i guess? Why do i feel weird about it..."
Probably because Bears wins are still usually close games. Kind of like a less frequent version of the Vikings and their one score game monopoly
This is some of the best analysis anywhere. Calling balls and strikes.
“It just felt like the personnel decisions were weird”. I haven’t seen one sentence do a more perfect job of describing Waldron’s entire career as an OC

That screen fail really was a devastating play. It's the kind of O-line fail that makes the QB lose confidence in his line, but it's the QB lack of awareness of the play that makes the rest of the team lose confidence in the QB. He's got to do better. He's capable of better, but it just wasn't showing yesterday.
@@ChumblesMumbles yeah let’s reset our memory banks and treat next week as week 1. Piss poor offensive effort from everyone involved. Receivers running sluggish routes. O linemen tripping into each other and getting dropped in Caleb’s lap, Caleb having happy feet on easy throws and airmailing them. Complete shitshow and it’s a miracle we turned into 2006 again
I wouldn’t call it a lack of awareness so much as a kid trying to do too much. Rookie mistake is to try and play hero ball, and that’s what he did a lot on Sunday. He’ll learn with more time to throw those away
A 40 minute vid for less than 100 yards of QB play? Gotta be a record
I don't think it's even a record for a Bears video

Herb had no issues with 4.6 Keenan Allen. He’s never been a burner
All we heard the whole time was that Herbert didn’t have no weapons. Now he did great with good weapons, while racking up a losing record. Someone gonna have to set something in concrete about this eventually 😂
@@HawgWyldFishingI don’t think anyone ever tried to say Allen was a bad weapon. A big problem with him is that he’s injury prone and missed plenty of time over the last few seasons (and I wouldn’t be surprised if that trend continues)

@@salvasaur They kinda do with Ryan Bates. The problem is that they can only bench either Shelton or Davis, both of which should arguably be benched.
@@Nick_2ieven bates looked awful though. Somehow this o line is worse than last year
5:31 - Moore had so much separation here you'd think he had restraining orders against the Titans' secondary. And Williams never even glanced at that side of the field.
Why would he? He had an open touchdown on his read and just missed the throw.
JF1 and the haul
The lack of investment into the interior offensive line was a straight up result of sunk cost fallacy. They decided not to draft a center - which in itself is a valid complaint, but I cut some slack just because the rookie class was really, really solid. Maybe you want to make fun of the Tory Taylor pick and say should have gotten a center there, but Tory Taylor is a legitimate game changer. What I will be more critical of is the lack of aggressiveness to go get Connor Williams who was on the market until August. Connor McGovern is still sitting on his couch, TODAY. Instead, we attempted to band-aid the problem and haven't had the balls to tell Nate Davis to kick rocks.
Caleb was bad, no way around it - but that's fine. You won't find any film of him being as inaccurate as he was yesterday, it doesn't exist. He will be better. What I can't get over is the unorganized, undisciplined, chaotic offense with questionable inactives before kickoff - all things you can control. On Keenan Allen's sail route that was made to order, that's Khari Blasingame being asked to come over on pass pro there - why wasn't it Roschon Johnson who's the best pass pro RB on the roster? No idea, he was a healthy scratch before kickoff. Why is backup tight end Gerald Everett out-snapping Cole Kmet and running routes from the slot? No idea, Tyler Scott was a healthy scratch before kickoff. Just stupid controllable mistakes like that man.
The Bears are a good football team, the fact that they won this disgrace of a game should relieve any doubt of that. But f' man this has to be better
"What I can't get over is the unorganized, undisciplined, chaotic offense with questionable inactives before kickoff". Same as last year- this team was not ready Week 1. That's what you get when you have a Defensive Coordinator in your Head Coach spot. I think Eberflus is a weakness that's going to hold this team back.
Prolly a reason he's still on the couch
Roschon is hurt
Great take
Couldn’t have put it any better
Good fair take. If I were the Bears I'd take a hard look at how the Rams and Mcvay + Stafford approached their offensive design vs the Lions on SNF. Quick hitters to get the ball out to hot reads knowing their O-line was mostly backups. Make it easy for Caleb and get him comfortable. I'm a Lions fan but the approach early on should be to give these kids as much bread & butter basic throws to open schemed up WR's as they can. Get the ball out quickly. If they want him to play hero ball they'll end up with Fields 2.0.
I think we all want to see the young QB's develop into franchise guys setting aside our team fandom bias. Set this kid up for success.
Glad the Lions fan base is usually pretty classy (like yourself). Throw in your head coach and I almost feel sad I can't root for you guys. Go GB.
Good point made. We’re a little disappointed in how the game was called by the OC. No adjustments seemed to made in the 2nd half either. That’s the difference between intelligent offensive coaching vs those that can’t.
waldron ain’t that guy
RG getting pulled and not showing up on the injury report tells me the coaches noticed the interior pressure and felt comfortable with depth there. But that C position has been a bogey spot for the Bears since Whitehair fell off a cliff after his 2018 Pro Bowl season.
it fell apart after Roberto Garza was released in '15. Real shame after the legacy of he and Olin Kreutz. Whitehair was in the probowl in 18 but was horrribly inconsistent.
Justin wasn't the biggest problem last year on that offense. The offensive line was the biggest issue. The one thing going for Caleb is he has superior talent at WR.
Finally watching this after listening to the local radio and all of their guests. This makes me feel better about many things that they did not talk about. It also makes me feel bad about a few things you highlighted.
The Center and Left Guard were getting blown up ALL DAY for the Bears!
Caleb had ZERO chance to get half of his throws off in a nice clean pocket, because there never was a clean pocket! Not once all day. He was constantly backing up, running left or right, or throwing the ball early.
That had to be a nightmare for this kid.
If the Bears don't do something about that Offensive Line, then we are gonna see a lot more of this from Caleb.
Plus, Caleb threw a perfect pass to one of the most sure handed WRs of the past Decade... and he dropped it.
He over threw 2 wide open WRs that would have either been TDs or inside the 5 yard line.
Look, he did not look good. At all.
However, 75% of it was not his fault. I am not going to jump ship like some people have already.
Rookie QBs don't ever play well. Especially against a really, really good Defense like the Titans.
The Titans were getting pressure rushing only 4 all day long. That makes for a very difficult day for a Rookie QB
U should try to make a new series of just clips of the best quarterbacking reps around the league of the week . Love the in-depth
Not gone lie I was waiting for this video 😂😂😂
20:00 it looks like he tried to side arm it. Everyone praises him for his ability to change arm angles, but it’s the basic stuff he struggles with and why I think he’s a massive project to do good in the NFL
Ain’t nobody had faith in Justin but y’all got faith in Caleb this man running for his life to its start at ur offense of line which pole could have fix if he could had stuck with Justin got the number one wr and went for a offensive line man crazy what I’m watching right know lmao at every body

Thanks for taking on Williams this week. I hope to see more of these as he develops
Thanks JT you the goat bro 🤙
Bill B was so correct about his inaccuracies
@10:55 Yeah, #64. that's our boy Nate Davis. He doesn't really enjoy playing the game of football. Whole city with the exception of Halas Hall wants him and Velus J (VJJ) GONE.

This was his first game so I'm sure the speed surprised him. Gonna be interesting to see how he responds. Team got lucky with the win.
I wouldn’t say good defense is luck but yeah Williams is trash. 😂
@@Nick9Three They scored 9 offensive points, and really should have scored 6. I'm willing to guess the percentage of NFL games a team wins when they score single-digit offensive points is well below 5%. Yes, it was a lucky win. It's OK to admit it; no one is going to take it away.
@@d.j.8059 I think they said that teams that hadn’t scored an offensive td and didn’t have more than 150 yards on offense were 3 - 519 in the history of the NFL.
Im grateful to hear your thoughts about using Rome Odunze and having him in some of the priority reads.
We didnt draft a great all around receiver with a top 10 pick to watch them force the ball the Keenan Allen as much as they did.
Honestly watching this makes feel a bit better about his performance, yeah he played poorly but for the most part he made the right reads and threw with anticipation and the plays were there, IOL has to be better, good thing is Titans is the best interior D Line we'll face for the rest of the season
Been waiting all day for this one
I’ll take Justin Fields thank you very much 😂
Mitch Trubisky was better than Justin and Caleb, while we have Bagent watching who is better than all 3. Eberflus is a brown nose butt kisser, hopefully his last year
Great job, I wish you were in the booth doing analysis during the game.
This is the only time I've ever seen a left-handed center. Have I just never noticed, or is it really that uncommon (yes left-handed people are already a pretty small percentage of the population, I get that). Keep up the great work JT.
The best center in the NFL is a Lefty (Creed Humphrey) he plays for the Chiefs but it is quite rare
JT : Youre not gonna be able to rely on defensive touch downs.
Urlacher: hold my hair
CaBust Williams
Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniel’s analysis is going to be must watch every week here!
That TD drop by Allan was a terrible wobbler, if your going to throw that far in front of your receiver so he has to extend and catch with his hands, you can't throw it so it's a fingertip catch of a duck.
Pretty sure the pass was tipped.
@@bearfan3417 didn't see it could have been tipped but he had a basket full on ugly ones
The offensive line was rotating guys on the right side all day. Funny thing is that Teven Jenkins (76) and Darnell Wright (58) anchored the right side for most of last season, so moving Jenkins to the left side doesn’t make sense to me.
First game as a rookie. He could settle in. Bears fans, just give him time and see what happens.
He needs to dominate from the pocket.
It's clear the D boxed him in.
I wish the press had given him a single NFL snap before anointing him a "generational talent"
@@Mighty_Atheismo
I agree!
This is why so many fans are going to lie about him now.
Many fans have bought into the hype.
So they will blame everyone else if he struggles!
I’m gonna give him time to grow. What really matters most to me was that he didn’t throw the game away and honestly it felt like a 2006 Bears win thanks to the defense and special teams.
This was one of those hard fought games that Chicago didn’t win last season.
He’s a bust
just thankful for them DB’s 😂😂😂
JT really slaps those hands together to start the episode... like thats not a clap of the hands. Hes sending those hands at each other without much concern for accuracy and yet it hits every time. Something to emulate
Not a fan of Waldrons play calling or the personnel decisions in this one. Really weird stuff.
Maybe it works for vets but not for rookies. Odunze is not that fast. How does he not know this?
Evidently, the Bears didn't learn from Waldron on Seattle last season.
I was at this game. The atmosphere was wild until the first couple drives and then everybody was silent until the big defensive plays late. I had the same feeling I had in the first game of Justin Fields. Not saying they are the same guy, just for the bears it felt like the same style of win the bears got against the Bengals a couple years ago when Justin played for the first time.
That play at 9:25 LB destroys the center, I think the left guard foot aided in tripping him over but still could've held his ground way better
EDIT: commented before I got to you mentioning that exact thing I said lol
Waldron has been watching the QB school, no 85 in sight
It’s very weird they paid DJ and spent a high pick on Rome and they are just absolutely trying to force Keenan the ball who isn’t in the long term plans so you’d think you’d want to build as much of a rapport with the guys who will be there
100% agree.
It’s Shane Waldron thing. His like author smith. His playing Everett over kmet. His been doing things like that in Seattle too
Williams used to drop the snap all the time in college, I kept telling myself not a big deal and surely they'll fix that, but man didn't expect it to keep on in the NFL.
At 31:39 does anyone else see DJ flying WAO on the top of the screen? On 3rd and 13 wouldn’t you want to check 1on1 matchups to see if you can hook up deep? I mean 3rd and 13 and they give you 1on1 press with your #1 guy and we don’t even look at it…
it’s probably an alert and he doesn’t give it a chance and skip over it but you’re right overall you at least look at it but i think that falls on the coaching for not emphasizing the alert in certain cases
DJ Moore isn’t his number one guy. It’s clear Keenan Allen is his number one … that’s going to be a problem
Great work as always!
25:57 i think this is where roshon johnson (RB who is out) would be in there to block. He is a much better blocker than blasingame (fullback). Yeah. It seems like shane waldron isn’t familiar with our personnel. Strange
That’s more on Eberflus, who’s been the HC for 2 yrs. But you’re right. What a joke of an organization.
JT, have you noticed how Caleb Williams never went through his progressions every play? He glued his eyes to the number 1 and never moved off of it. I'm curious how fast teams will pick up on the fact he tips every play.
20:30 is bad by the center, but also…why is CW not hitting that third step and ripping the Keenan post? That’s a three step drop and rip to me. There’s no hitch there. It’s like CW is waiting to see guys get open instead of anticipating.
Does this offense look any different than last year ? & holy cow Coach Demco got to be licking his chops on how he will attack that O line ! 😂
My boy Keenan was catching strays for no reason. He was getting open
He also dropped a TD pass.
Naw i don’t think he looked Fat ….18 also overthrew a touchdown
he was definitely lacking effort on some plays and dropped that TD but that play where he was wide open for a TD caleb just whiffed the throw
He still has a foot/heel issue... from last season.
4:47 I'm glad you said that because he looked nervous 😅 which is ok
He didn’t say that he looked nervous.. he said he seemed JACKED UP LMAO I love it
So you're not going to talk about how wide open DJ was on the 3rd and 3 when he overthrew Keenan. Woooooow 😅
Timestamp for play?
Saw that too. Might've been 3rd or 4th read
Uhh, Bo had a similar experience! Welcome to the NFL!
Make a Levis video. I like the feeling of pain
Yes!! I was waiting for this!
No crossing routes, no TE's...same old shit from the Bears coaching staff. And...CW didn't repeatedly get his bell rung like the Bears exposed JFields to.
On the 1st play i think he passed on that route over the middle presnap because he realized he had Keenan 1 on 1 and trusted the future HoF to beat his guy. He did. Caleb just air balled it. Hopefully he settles in this week. Toigh test avainst a playoff team in prime time on the road.
That line might be a high school O-line. This is coaching and a GM problem.
Not at all coaching. Definitely GM. Pace has neglected interior line way too much
I watch these like I’m gonna play QB at 35 😆 Can’t wait for the AR5 film!
COMPLETE BUST...
🤡
When the center and guard gets bulldozed like that, it means they're moving too fast and too far back like the tackle position. For example if I'm jogging backwards it would be easy to push me down backwards. They should be taking a step and a half back and planting their foot with hands out! They're attempting to block backing up too fast and making contact too late so when the defender gets there he has so much momentum he can just push you down! The o-line coach has to correct that! You'd be better off selling run block off the snap to pocket pass then block moving your feet backwards at contact. This is the NFL. WHERE DO THEY FIND THESE PEOPLE!!!
We've had a few years of running, side arm, option QBs who extend plays. NFL defenses seem to deal with it. With fewer practices and players changing teams, offensive are less in synch. Scoring is down, even with rules enforcement favoring offense. Not that the Pats are going 14-2 but they could throw off Ds with their 1976 Steve Grogan running offense. Everything's been done, so there is history of how to counter any scheme. Play calling seems to matter more and minimizing mistakes. Caleb may just end up being above average, with greatness depending on his coach (but that's true for most teams).
I don't think an ability to extend plays is something you can really "counter" ... if you're saying guys who can't throw from the pocket or who are too quick to scramble ... sure, that'd be like a Justin Fields situation ... but I mean there are definitely barely mobile quarterbacks out there, and they're not exactly lighting it up ... meanwhile, the best QB in the league (whose team is the reigning Super Bowl champs) has a sidearm motion but is more accurate than plenty of QBs with a more traditional motion.
1: I agree that the interior o-line was manhandled (more than) a bit. For example, Jenkins (who is an NFL+ guard) did get walked back. And OT Jones got bull-rushed and manhandled too.
2: but that doesn't entirely excuse CW's play. 1st pick or not, he's a rookie and he definitely played like one.
3: bears really need to be more of of a running team while CW adapts to the speed and complexity of NFL defenses.
4: bears really need to draft at least 1 OG with one of their 1st or 2nd round picks next year. I think they need a least 2 more quality o-linemen, regardless of position (except RT).
Painful to watch. Deer in headlights. Jury still out. Yes it is early
It’s in the tape with his hitches, bad pre snap reads, and hero ball. All the things I worried most about Caleb in the NFL. He is very indecisive and many of the times he doesn’t take the easy read or the quintessential “take what the defense gives you”. I get there were offensive line issues but if you’re making the correct pre snaps as well taking the easy plays you’ll be able to disguise those issues. He’ll have to learn this isn’t college post snap and he’ll have to overhaul how he plays QB on a cerebral level. He can do it but I have my reservations. Guys like Daniels and especially Penix live off the pre snap like they were already NFL tailor made.
Someone tell Caleb this isn’t the PAC-12
Caleb did that attempt of creating on screens all of the time in college
I am a Bears fan, but I think what a lot of people forget is even we think Caleb is the guy and generational, he is after all a rookie.
There has not been a single rookie QB to come and sling and be perfect in there first game. Josh Allen struggled, Herbert, Mahomes, most QBs struggle, it will take time for adjust and get the timing down.
I do think he needs to play better and work on timing, execution, ball placement, but I think he will figure it out and that line has to figure it out
Mahomes only played 1 game as a rookie. Against a bad Broncos team and had like a 74 passer rating, 0 TDs and 270 passing.
People were pretty underwhelmed then and forget when the chiefs got rid of Alex Smith they were like “wtf are you doing?! You’re taking the risk with this new guy?”
Bagent played better in his first game.
Caleb is suppose to be much better!
@@proudsellout484 Bagent had a better first game than Josh Allen lol. Lets relax now.

Man he played horribly. Ain’t no sugar coating this. He can stop with all the macho I don’t get nervous talk. Painting your nails shows everyone he aint macho. Just stop it
8:31 Yeah i think center had a lot of issues in this game so it could have affected caleb and his timing. Shelton couldn’t block. Look at the exact next play when caleb gets sacked. Not caleb’s fault. Right guard was not great either
Dude is no good. Wasn’t that good in college.
I'm glad you made a combat about him.Bobbling the snap. I watched ten in a row and none of them looked stable or complete. It just seemed like something was off with the way the ball was hitting his hands.
So, when we signed our GM, we were told: "Don't worry, Ryan Poles is a former O-lineman and an O-line specialist. He'll get our O-line sorted out for sure!" Instead, our O-line has gotten worse with every year under Ryan Poles. The war is won in the trenches and Poles simply can't evaluate O-linemen to save his life.
I mean who hasnt he evaluated properly? In terms of free agents, I would agree, but in terms of “evaluating” Oline in the draft, he has done pretty well.
@@NoooTheWall32 "I mean who hasnt he evaluated properly? In terms of free agents, I would agree" You just said it yourself.
Montez Sweat. Darrell Taylor. Tremain Edmunds. T.J. Edwards. Jack Sanborn. Kevin Byard (so far). D.J. Moore. Andrew Billings. Keenan Allen (not as bad as JT says). Deandre Swift. Tyson Bagent.
Seems to have evaluated more than a few correctly. And these are just the ones he traded for or signed.
Not to mention keeping Kmet and JJ. And drafting Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, Jaquan Brisker, Kyler Gordon, Tory Taylor, Caleb Williams (tho we still gotta see it...still a no brainer).
Man CAN evaluate talent. Yeah the IOL has been rough, but you cant fix EVERY hole immediately. Stop Hating and have faith. Look how far the team has come from a roster perspective
@@d.j.8059 offensive line is different though in free agency. Most top offensive linemen are kept by their team and don’t ever really hit free agency. It’s really hard to find good offensive line talent in free agency and if you do, it will be very very expensive. That’s why he traded for one instead of signing someone out of free agency.

Excited is not the same as nervous. Having first game jitters with how happy you are to play is not the same as nervous to go out there and perform. That's all i have to say. Otherwise, I love the breakdown.
That center is better than Sam Mustabust that Justin had to deal with for TWO seasons! Chicago will always let there QBs down then throw them away like it’s there fault they are ranked 32nd in pressers given up year after year after year. 🐻⬇️
