Hi! I made a push-pull dc-dc converter which should convert 6.3v from 2 LiFepo4 in series to around 36-40v. I used SG3525. First I used 2+2 IRFB7434 switches, but they were heating up much, then I added more and created 4+4 IRFB7434 switching scheme. Switches and SG3525 are powered from 12v computer power supply. Wave on switches is square - I checked by oscilloscope. I connected gates through 4.7Ohm resistors and with reversed fast diodes in parallel to them. SG3525 circuit has "driver transistors" on it's output- 3A D772 and B882. For transformer core I used TP4A-T42-26-13mm ring. Winding is 4+4 primary and 29 turns of secondary. Rectifier on secondary - full bridge from 4 fast 8A diodes. By playing with frequency I found that optimal frequency for efficiency is around 9kHz. With increasing efficiency - output voltage drops under constant resistive load. I was loading it with 200w load. But even with such powerful mosfets they are heating up fast.... They are mounted on a big heat sink, Also transformer is not heating up much. After 1 minute of load it's only around 30-35 C, same as rectifier diodes are not heating up much too.... And efficiency is only around 75%. Do you have ideas why this may be happening? Maybe mosfets are fake, not original, and have bigger Rdson? Or maybe this core I used here is too big for a 200-300w power? Or maybe is should add some snubber circuits to mosfets and it will help? Or maybe it is notrmal that I have 75% efficiency with such small 6v input voltage for such transistors? (I wish I could reach 85-90% efficiency)....
As far as efficiency of a Push-Pull...is there any advantage to your topology (with a center tap secondary winding and two diodes) as opposed to secondary with no center tap feeding 4 diodes in bridge arrangement? Thanks, Steve
Thank you for sharing your knowledge😊 I have a question can i replace 5w cement resistor 3.9ohm to 4.7o ohm?that will not be couse any damages to PCB board?
How your doing better sir . If you can reply to my question I would be thankful, I rise my frequency to 250khz with a double EE5525 core the core is 1pound in weight but at 250khz the voltage dropping from 200volt to 175 volt is there a bad reason why this happens ,?
Thanks for teaching my friend
best regards
Who'd have thought we get this kind of a chance to learn this way. Thank you Haseeb

Awesome upload dear friend, have a blessed Tuesday 😊
thanks a lot

You are very welcome
Subha Ka Salaam Janab Bhai Sahib
thanks a lot bhai
هل ممكن تُستعمل هذه الطريقة مع أجهزة اللحام أم لا ؟
Can this method be used with welding devices or not?
no. this is not effective design for welding machines. welding machines need "FULL BRIDGE OR H-BRIDGE TOPOLOGY"

Sa. Can you explain the trigger signal on motor controller with IGBT.
جزاك الله خيرا
Sir you are great engineer 🎉 from India 🇮🇳

Thank you very much my master
You are very welcome
Sir does this smps use high side driver or just two low side switching
Very very interesting and useful.
To choice the right transistor voltage, is it necessary to have a transistor with 900 V tension?
Is it right?
best regards
yes transistor voltage must be at least above 2.25 x V in or 2.5 x V in
Very informative thank you sir. How to calculate the output voltage equation considering there is load
Very nice
best regards
Thank you for sharing your knowledge😊

Thanx 👍
So nice of you
What does the dot on the transformer winding means or signified. In the actual winding
❤thanks

What is the voltage of green wire and how it is generated in atx smps

I love your videos. But this one isVery blure explanation.
sorry for that. i will check it and will try to reproduce it
watch your primary side of your schematic ! Need for a more complex "basic" schematic. The driving unit have to have a Q and a -Q outputs
