I’ve been a full time wheelchair user since I was 6 years now of (L1 Complete) so I’m in my chair 13 hours plus every day. I’ve pretty much tried everything and can’t quite find one I’m fully happy with. My problem is my butt and tailbone are extremely boney. Literally skin and bone combined with zero sensation, I’m very prone to pressure sores. I use a ROHO now, and that took care of the pressure sore/ skin break down issue, but I prefer a lot more stability and I like to be positioned super tight in my chair .
Hi Anastasia, As I always say, if you don’t try, you’ll never know if something works. One of the best compromises between stability and pressure care is the Jay 2 Deep Contour cushion. I’d recommend finding a provider and organizing a trial before purchasing, as it’s quite an expensive cushion.
@@TheFUNctionalOT HI! Thank you, I do have a seating specialist I work with. I will let her know about the cushion you mentioned and hopefully give it a try!
@@TheFUNctionalOT also do you know if the “J2 Deep Contour” is available in a 12” width? I am NOT a pediatric patient, but I have had complete paraplegia since early childhood leaving me with a normal upper body and very a tiny trunk/ legs.
Thank you for asking. The Jay 2 Deep Contour cushion is a great solution, but each case is different, and I don't know your overall clinical situation. I would suggest you ask your occupational therapist and try the cushion before you buy it.
@@TheFUNctionalOT Thanks I will be sure to do so. If you don't mind me asking. What wheelchair is the guy sitting in, in this video? It looks really comfortable and I have look for one like that for a while
