Awww, they’re following the guide on the bike, as they would follow their mothers out in the wild. The babies seem a bit sad, and not as playful as baby elephants who roam with their moms and other herds of elephants. I hope these babies are able to one day survive happily in the wild.
I think it's truly endearing to see the care taken by the staff looking after the baby-elefants. The elefants are like children very playful and sometimes even a bit naughty..i love it !!
Good walking for babies, they need to walk regularly. In their living space need some straws and fresh leaves. Beside milk they will learn how to munch on fresh leaves.

Always keep them soooooo happy.... But please don't make them to run behind you... You people walk along with them... Poor baby seems that it has no energy to run with you...

They have lost/ separated from their group in the wild. They were found as such in the forest by the wardens. Obviously, they are stressed and are losing weight. Once they become comfortable with their new environment, they will gain weight. To me, it looks like the forest officials are doing a superb job.

Baby elephants do not thrive when left alone. They are a true herd-animal and are constantly protected and cared for by mother, sisters and aunts. When away from their elephant family, they suffer greatly and most likely never fully recover.

I read many comments about babies looks weak, but they need your donations because it is expensive to feed them . I think they should put every baby elephant for adoption when a new baby comes to their care. Then they will get a steady money for these babies to raise them.

I am impressed generally with what you guys do. Here though you treat the elephants as things not beings with feelings. You don’t walk them, you run them. It’s a very “guy” approach. These babies need mothering and kindness. Elephants definitively seem to respond to affection. Have you thought of stroking them and singing to them. I think they would grow from affection. Have you watched the elephantnews videos from Chiang mai thailand? You should contact Lek Chailert about her approach. Maybe get more women involved.
Boa I thought the same thing as you, men are not so sensitive about affection with animals as women, but Darrick (Lek's husband does a grand job of kissing and hugging the ellies like Lek does) 💗🐘 the babies are in pain from being without their mother and they need LOVE!!
This group involved in many rescue missions and taking care of wild animals in need of help(in the jungle). They are not maintaining an Elephant Sanctuary as in Chiang mai Thailand. Rather than Judging them from this video, you should look other videos too. Their focus is somewhat different than that of officials in an Elephant Sanctuary. These people are combinations of Veterinary physicians and assistants and they deal most of the time with REAL WILD ELEPHANTS, who can be unpredictable.
Most the people that criticize do not have practical experience. They are the ones who always criticize others actions rather than looking at the good side.
Boa these people are not trying to keep any affectionate relationship with baby elephants as you suggest because unlike in Thailand once these babies are ready to survive by their selves they will be release back to the wild. They must run and have to have exercises daily becoz babies are inside a cage most of the time. As far as I know these people are expertises and know what they do than you do🙄

I guess those babies are NOT babies of wild elephants, Their parents also are working elephants. living and working for humans like cows bulls or horses. They are just farm animals

They know that's why elephant still alive in this island. Not only elephants, leopard, blue whale, Sea turtles. And all animals.. They are safe here..
Cover the baby with a blanket so that the baby things that has a mother or Old elephant around the baby
