Ultraman Arc is perhaps the best ultra series so far. It has the perfect amount of serialized story and episodic. Loving how the boss Kaiju is more psychic than brute strength, very different than the usuals
I see many different ways the final fight could go: 1. Arc just can't use galaxy armor anymore. So he uses base form, solis armor, & luna armor. 2. AU of the one above, Arc could just combine the solis & luna armor to create the eclipse armor. 3. Arc imagines himself separating the pollutants from Sonia's excess energy, proceeds to do so, can now use galaxy armor, and creates a poison dagger out of the pollutants. 4. Somebody screams "Help Ultraman". Givas appears & starts absolutely pummeling the kaiju. Givas doesn’t have time for dreams; only for living up to his master’s expectations.
First off, thanks to the OP not having dialogue, I finally realized 2:02 has a snippet of the bassline of the original Ultraman's OP While I kind of expected this, I wish they played more into the dream angle here, kept things ambiguous for at least half the episode. The sequence at the start was interesting with the deconstruction of usual Ultraman tropes, and I like how "Arc" stands beside Zadime as a hint to who's really talking here. I just wish they did more with such a plot Guilebaku is certainly unique among final boss kaiju, I don't think we ever got a final boss that's more of a psychological threat than a physical one. It makes sense to attack an imagination-based hero using such a kaiju I wasn't expecting that we'd actually see Ze-Su on-screen, nor that the blob-thing at 13:29 is exactly what he looks like. There's still many mysteries regarding how Rution's species works, and that's assuming Ze-Su's even the same species as Rution and Biorno. And I do have to wonder why he's so obsessed with his plan, though something tells me that plotline's going to remain open-ended
So I guess you can call that a huge fake out. Turns out that whole 16 years was nothing more than a dream thing wasn't the truth but it was Sweed's machination and it was thanks to Shu calling out to Yuma that snapped him out of it. So it turns out Ze Su had figured Arc had absorbed the Ze Su gate to create the Galaxy Armor has been sending solar energy from Sonia along with waste and pollutants through the gate. Basically Ze Su has by dumping waste that should never be in someone's body poisoned Arc and Yuma and that poison has started to take effect last episode and has now hit critical. The reason why Ze Su has resumed his campaign now is because he knows Yuma and Arc has been severely weakened to be dealt with and Trigelos failed he sends Sweed after him who was alive after her previous defeat. This time instead of bringing muscle, Sweed brings with her GuileBaku a kaiju that controls dreams meaning she has went for psychological warfare with a kaiju that amplifies her play style. To make matters worse Ze Su's campaign has affected efforts to save their galaxy also. Ze Su in his desperation is harming his people and his galaxy but he is so heck bent on his absolute solution he blind to other options and he has gone too far to where he is now dragging everyone down with him. No matter how effective the solution he has to saving their galaxy he has crossed the line. The SKIP team after getting Yuma back into HQ continued monitoring GuileBaku's movements and knowing Sweed and it is after Yuma Chief Hiroshi speculates that Yuma might be Arc. Shu likely has already figured it out after regretting letting Yuma go to face Trigelos gets straight to priorities and the team decides they must protect Yuma especially with how much Yuma as Arc has protected them up to this point. Yuma overheard them and left as the team was going to get Yuma to safety. As Yuma leaves, Shu, Youpi, Rin, and Hiroshi pleads Yuma not to go off again, but Yuma doesn't say a word and changes to Arc right in front of them confirming Hiroshi's theory that he IS Arc and heads off to face Guilebaku. Normally the reveal would be surprising but this time the SKIP crew already more or less figured it out and all Yuma did was confirm it and it hurts for the team knowing Yuma who is dying because of what is inside of him yet he is throwing his life on the line to save everyone. Normally taking out a kaiju that fights with psychological attacks is not a concern except Arc is not only severely weakened the Arc Galaxy Armor backfires on him thanks to Ze Su poisoning and then Guilebaku manages to force Arc and Yuma into the deep dream thanks to that backfire. Gotta love how Ze Su isn't like the usual Ultra antagonists whose last effort is an abomination of destruction but a well planned campaign that was possible by exploiting a weakness he discovered. And giving his enforcer a kaiju who plays to her strengths. Guilebaku is no king of destruction kaiju but is instead a kaiju that attacks the mind and personally that is way more menacing than a king of destruction like Doom Varallon. Then again because Arc's power is based on imagination a kaiju with power that attacks the mind is in of itself the best weapon for it. Especially when the goal is to sever Yuma's bond with Arc. A highlight of this episode is we get to see Ze Su for the first time even if he is just a hologram and a giant head. He mentions if Sweed fails him again it will be the last time and he will use her "key" as a last resort. That world leader has lost all patience. For a supposed "evil" leader in an Ultra series Ze Su has made himself standout amongst others by simply using more pragmatic tactics and making use of any information and potential advantages he has that is presented to him or he uncovers instead of simply raw power.
Sweed has always used psychological warfare. She nearly made Yuma lose hope in episode 15 upon making him realize how grim the situation actually was. While Zadime is brute-force, he's not exactly the strongest. Arc with Solis Armor could easily knock him down.

Anyone find it hilarious the way the illusion of Arc stands there folding his arms impatiently once Shu makes contact with Yuma right before revealing itself to be Sweed? i mean you could tell something is off about it from the start, but that right there was a dead giveaway 😂

In Yuma's case he only revealed it because the team had more or less figured it out and he didn't have the strength to deny or protest which makes the reveal to the team not surprising but sad because they are watching a friend who is dying throw his life away to save everyone.
I'm happy he didn't, cause I want it to actually mean something and not be just one or two short "everyone is surprised and worries and gives friendship power" scene. If they do a reveal, it should be in the middle of the series, so it has an impact. like in Mebius for example.
The ending appears to be a battle for Yuma's mind. I personally hope there is a "Yugi solving the Puzzle from inside" way to do the final fight. Yuma should fight the ze su gate/Sweed while Rution fights the Guilbaku. Their shared bond should be what conquers, not arc being a reality bending god.
