- My son and I are back!! In this video, I show my updated two strand twists routine for a longer lasting protective style, especially if your son/man plays sports or sweats alot. My last 2 strand twists video went viral (kind-of) so I had to give yall an updated video!! This style lasts about two weeks and is super cute. All products are listed below! Hi. I am not sure if this matters, but I am a white mother doing her sons biracial hair. I have done twists a few times. It there a way to keep them from unraveling so much. Also, my son likes his twists in his face too (no idea why), but he doesn't like the part down the middle. Is there a way to section the hair off somewhere so it doesn't look like a bang section? Use moisturizer to make combing easier and start at the ends of your hair then work your way down

Hi! Your hair grows at the same rate regardless of the style. The key is to retain length. And most retain length by keeping their hair in protective styles and decreasing the amount of tension on the scalp and manipulation of the hair.
