    will try this. I just want to know if you've tried colour prints in the same process?

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Color prints require very smooth surface to work well. With texture it's better to paint it and create illusion of real object

    You have great clay to work with. In india you don't get das clay and the air dry clay is very expensive in Delhi,india .

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Air-dry clay is much more expensive than regular clay everywhere. I primarily use air-dry clay to show that it is possible to create ceramic artworks beyond simple plates and cups without access to a kiln. However, if you have access to a kiln, you can build the same projects from regular clay. The main differences are use slip instead of water to connect pieces and paint with glazes and underglazes instead of acrylic paints.

    Although I get a decent finish with water & sanding, when I roll it the edges break up a little.

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't recommend to sand clay, instead make surface smooth while clay is soft. Edges usually break up when clay is overdried, try to make shapes while clay still soft.

    Ive done my design, what is the best means of adhering it to my project?

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With clay it always score and add slip

  • @bhavnasharma3137
    @bhavnasharma3137 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One more thing to ask,what do you do with the finished products?

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With stone and regular clay ceramics pieces, I participate in art shows and exhibitions and sell them. I use air-dry clay only for online classes and workshops. And since things got slow due to the pandemic, I created this TH-cam channel. 😀

    • @bhavnasharma3137
      @bhavnasharma3137 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But what do you do with air dry clay work or sculptures or bowls?

  • @antoniapower2069

    can i paint the clayobject afterdryeing with acrylics paint?

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acrylic paints work very well with air dry clay. You can also use spray paint on it. Before painting apply sealer or varnish.

    My air dry clay never wants to stay in a position i put it in even if i put water on it

    • @CeramicsOasis
      @CeramicsOasis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To make clay pieces stick together score first and add slip. Water works with air dry clay, not so for regular clay. If you work doesn't hold shape, let slabs dry a little bit to make them more rigid.
