I'm tearing up watching this, imagining how hard it is for him to face those problem since young age. I knew that he has been into few groups before ZEROBASEONE but I didn't know that it was THAT hard. Those hardships... OMG if I were him, I might've given up, but he didn't. His face is so familiar during first episode of Boys Planet and turned out I've watched his BL Drama clips somewhere. After that, I watched his drama and I fell in love with him during Back Door and I fell much deeper after he teamed up with Matthew performing Love Killa, since then I always love and support ppusamz (jiwoong and matthew duo). I'm glad Jiwoong is not giving up on his dream. I'm delighted that he had the best birthday ever this year, 14.12.2023. Kim Ji Woong, if you read this, I want you to know that you did great. I'm in tears Jiwoong is a symbol of perseverance. I knew a bit about his past but this video gave me a deeper insight. Thank you for collecting various information and providing subtitles. 🥺💙
This video left it out, but ATEEN also sued their agency for mistreatment and sexual harrassment after 6 of the members were inappropriately touched by the female CEO and wife of the chairman, and all of the members reported verbal abuse from them and management. So Kim Ji Woong was part of 2 groups that were grossly abused by their agencies and had to go to court just to get out of their contracts, signed up for another group that also disbanded before debut, and actually won a survival program that it sounds like no one watched and gave almost no real prize for all his hard work. Even if he wasn't one of the ATEEN members that was assaulted, and was gaslit into believing that what the INX agency did to him was part of the struggle to become an idol, even if he has plenty of good memories and lasting friendships from that time....I don't understand how he still managed to keep his head up and hold onto his dream of becoming an idol. I would have run as far away from the entertainment industry as possible after all that. He was doing pretty well as an actor, mostly in web dramas but very successful ones. He could have kept at that, making a decent living and singing for the OSTs and supplementing with modeling and brand deals as well. But having a more stable income and healthier working environment still couldn't make him as happy as performing did. To me, that's all the proof you need that he truly LIVES for singing and dancing and performing, more so than probably anyone else in zb1. It's also a big relief, given how young some of the members are, that they've got someone like Jiwoong to look out for them bc he's already seen the darkest parts of the industry.

This video left it out, but ATEEN also sued their agency for mistreatment and sexual harrassment after 6 of the members were inappropriately touched by the female CEO and wife of the chairman, and all of the members reported verbal abuse from them and management.
So Kim Ji Woong was part of 2 groups that were grossly abused by their agencies and had to go to court just to get out of their contracts, signed up for another group that also disbanded before debut, and actually won a survival program that it sounds like no one watched and gave almost no real prize for all his hard work.
Even if he wasn't one of the ATEEN members that was assaulted, and was gaslit into believing that what the INX agency did to him was part of the struggle to become an idol, even if he has plenty of good memories and lasting friendships from that time....I don't understand how he still managed to keep his head up and hold onto his dream of becoming an idol. I would have run as far away from the entertainment industry as possible after all that.
He was doing pretty well as an actor, mostly in web dramas but very successful ones. He could have kept at that, making a decent living and singing for the OSTs and supplementing with modeling and brand deals as well. But having a more stable income and healthier working environment still couldn't make him as happy as performing did.
To me, that's all the proof you need that he truly LIVES for singing and dancing and performing, more so than probably anyone else in zb1. It's also a big relief, given how young some of the members are, that they've got someone like Jiwoong to look out for them bc he's already seen the darkest parts of the industry.
