Another grand melody of freedom from Mr Sutton. Thank you. For us unfortunate non Gaelic speaking brothers in arms can we please receive the translation? Very much appreciated. For mother Eiru and the dear old land.

      Bhíomar ceart ró-luath
      Buachaill óg a bhí ionam,
      Is fada de bhlianta ó,
Chonaic mé an domhan chomh difriúil.
      Más buan mo chuimhne,
Creid mé gach rud agus níos mó,
      Bhí na laethanta sin spreagúil.
      Ach ag fás in aois,
      Ní fheicimid é arís,
      Nuair a d’oscail ár súile,
      Bhíomar ceart ró-luath.
Caithfidh muid a bheith reidh nuair a thagann na daoine chugainn,
Beidh eagla orthu, nuair a thuigeann siad.
      Tá suíl agam lá nua,
Cuirfidh sé dóchas ar ais i mo chroí,
Tabhair dúinn ár dtalamh ar ais
      Bainfidh muid.
      Ach ag fás in aois,
      Ní fheicimid é arís,
      Nuair a d’oscail ár súile,
      Bhíomar ceart ró-luath.

      We were right too soon
      I was a young boy,
      Long years since,
I saw the world so differently.
      If memory serves me,
      I believed, everything and more,
      Those days were exciting.
      But growing in age,
      We don’t/won’t see it again,
      When our eyes were opened,
      We were right too soon.
      We must be ready,
When the people come to us,
They will be scared, when they understand,
      I hope a new day,
Will put back the hope in my heart,
      Give us back our land,
      We will win.
      But growing in age,
      We don’t/won’t see it again,
      When our eyes were opened,
      We were right too soon.
