You saved me a faux pau (f** up) my concrete guy mis-calulated for a six foot slider and put and almost put an anchor bolt in the center of the slider. I corrected it 6 hrs before the pumper and concrete truck showed up. Thanks for sharing. You saved me a head ache 👍
It seems like drilling and epoxying isn’t such a bad way to go. The cost doesn’t seem to be prohibitive, especially when considering the time and headache required to lay out, set, pour and finish around protruding anchor bolts.
Hi. Can you please make a video on how to place anchor bolts and hold downs in an interior load bearing wall with a foundation 1ft wide and 2ft deep. Because exterior walls have support on the peripheral boards where you can attach the bolts but the interiors do not.
when building a garage can the anchor bolt be longer in length, allowing it to anchor to both the sill plate and wall plate in order to strengthen and stabilizing the wall as well
If you're referring to multiple plates on the bottom, then absolutely. If this doesn't answer your question, feel free to provide me with some more details or email me a picture. You can get our email address at our website.
Usually anchor bolts are used around the perimeter and for interior structural shear walls and pins or other fasteners are used on the other interior walls.
What about anchor bolts for the interior walls that are not load bearing/ shear walls. Do the interior walls also need anchor bolts or can they be installed with a ramset?
As long as they aren't structural walls, then yes you can use any type of fastening system like a ramset. On new concrete I've actually driven them in with a hammer before like you would a nail.

Yes, it can be expensive, especially if you have to rent the tools.
Awesome video. Thank you for your time.
Can you please do a video with a concrete foundation and cement blocks and concrete rods and L anchors.
If you can, send me a picture of what you're referring to or provide me with some more details.

Just needed to know the spacing but thanks for the information man!
Happy to help!
Is there a minimum code requirement on how far is the edge of the base plate from the edge of the concrete pedestals?
Very helpful! Thank you!
Very informative and clearly taught. Appreciated
Glad you liked it and thanks for watching our videos.
Quick question.
Is this type of construction, earthquake proof?
I'm thinking of building this way in an earthquake prone area.
Thanks in advance!

You're welcome and thanks for commenting.
thank you, i wish you can be my teacher.
This is gonna sound dumb but do you anchor only outside walls or inside walls too?

Very good. Thank you.
Excellent, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What about spacing on a double shoe plate (double 2x4s)
Anchor bolts usually need to be located with in 12 inches from the edge of the framing plates.
very helpful. thank you !
You're welcome and thanks for letting us know you like the video.
Thank you so much
