I know there are some people who don't care for the MM5 soundtrack as much as others, but how can you not love this? :) This is also the same composer who contributed Sheep Man to Mega Man 10, which is my favorite alongside Blade Man (by the Rockman & Forte composer). I can appreciate that the composers to some of the lesser appreciated Mega Man soundtracks came back and did some of the best work out of anyone.
I can't honestly see how people could like the music from Mega Man 4 more than this game. MM5's music is much better in many ways. More memorable melodies, nothing "Borrowed" from previous games (both Ring Man's music and the first Dr Cossack stage use the main melody from Cuts Man's song) and the sound quality is better. I like MM3 and 2's music more. I'd put this on part with MM1's music. But 4 has the weakest overall in the NES series in several different ways.
@@CurtIsTheSillo Yeah, that's misinformation actually lol; Mari Yamaguchi (the MM5 composer) did this song, and Yoko had nothing to do with this one, and personally I'm kind of ashamed in even having believed it in the first place thanks to not having reliable enough information for who did what music back then, but oh well I guess Still wonder where did that assumption even came from in the first place tho? I don't think I could find anything about that particular piece of information and who spread it around in the first place, but it kind of baffles me on how people seems to just automatically think this is Yoko Shimomura's doing without questioning it; guess she's just that popular ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My favorite is probably... uh.... all of them because well you know In all seriousness, my favorite is probably Abandoned Memory from 10. But I have a lot of close seconds for that pick!
Yeah. The stakes are down, you're in trouble, but you're also being pushed forward to an inevitable end. This track COMMUNICATES the circumstances of the game in that moment.
Everyone goes on and on about the Wily stage 1 theme in Megaman 2, but this is far and away the better composition. It's got everything! Double guitar attacks, counter melodies, and discrete bass line, arpeggiator lines, echo (which for those who don't know, the NES couldn't do that natively so they were definitely eating an entire sound channel to make that happen), theme reprisals, clever break downs that don't just crunch away on the tonic...whoever wrote this piece UNDERSTANDS music.
This is my second favourite Dr. Wily stage theme, only surpassed by Megaman 7 Dr. Wily Stage 1, man, you can hear Rock's determination to end the struggle once and for all in both of them, sure, Megaman 2 Dr Wily theme is awesome, but I think that's something you love as a kid, for the action, the adventure feeling, but once you grow up, you get noticed this and Megaman 7 Wily stage 1 are the best ones in the whole saga, because these two represent how tired and wounded Rock is.
@@KingdomHeartsBrawler I don't know where this rumor comes from but there's nothing that confirms that she wrote this one track. She never mentioned it on interviews nor on her twitter, and there's no hint of it on trusted websites (midiplex/atwiki/vgmdb), even when you search on japanese sites and forums. AFAIK the only thing that link Yoko Shimomura and Mega Man together is Shimomura's senior: Manami Matsumae, who only worked on MM1 and MM2.
I'm still really curious about this. I believe the rumor started due to how much this theme contrasts with the other tunes in MM5. Mari Yamaguchi has a peppy, progressive touch in her music, and while this retains the musical complexity and driving structure, it's noticeably a more somber tune than the rest. The melody certainly sounds like something Yoko Shimomura might have written, whence the rumor I would assume. If Shimomura is ever at a panel or such, asking her if she wrote MM5's Wily Castle theme would certainly be a worthy question and put this mystery to rest.
@@ElCriticoAclarador2017 Idk, this one feels more heroic than dark and depressing. Cossack Fortress 2 is a better contender but it's not a Wily theme :/
Favorite Wily Fortress theme out of all of the classic NES Mega Man games for me. Honestly it's so good it redeems the game's overall subpar soundtrack compared to the other NES Mega Man games.
Lol, I remember playing this game, but i was one monster hunter, i did an event an what do you k ow i heated this song in one of the quest, I’m gonna go back an play megaman 5 again :D
am i the only one who didn't find wily 1 that bad? i only used the super arrow and rush when they were absolutely necessary and still got to big pets without dying. and i was mega washed that day too.
Megaman 5 themes are a bit underwhelming compared to 1, 2, 3 or 4, but this one and Gravity Man may probably be top 20 of all themes in the NES Megaman franchise

My favorite Wily Castle theme! I don't know how anyone cannot love this!
Me too... There are parts just at 0:30 to 0:56...wave Man theme Is good too
This was made by Yoko Shimomura
god and nostalgic song, but I prefer Willy fortress 2 of Megaman 3
It sounds to messy for me

This theme is so epic, and a bit melancholy
The soundtrack of the Wily stages are always so nice on the entire franchise. The composers really nail it on the head
Definitely has that “well, this is it “ feel to it ...

MM5 seriously have the best endgame soundtracks. Every themes starts from Protoman's Fortress are gold.
Probably my favorite in the 1-6 Nes themes. Beautiful.
this track is so good.
MM5 is one of my faves
Arranged by the goddess of videogame music
Mari Yamaguchi!

Mega Man was brought closer to wanting to kill Wily each game.
Makes sense.
And only two games later, he almost went through with it...
The most somber of the Wily themes.
I disagree. MM3 stage 2 music is more somber.
This is 2nd place in that category for me, 1st place goes to the first Dr Wily stage in MM7
And for most chilling goes to MM3 wily theme 3
@Terrific Tape Megaman and bass?
Nope, it's MM3 Wily stages 5 and 6
Nostálgico ♥️
Mira chavito estos si eran temazos god
This is the defining MM game of my childhood along with MM7.
0:53 I always eargasm _right here._
Same, some of the Megaman OSTs have such strong emotion like this moment.
My favorite track in Mega Man 5
The only Mega Man theme Yoko Shimomura made... and she made it really work.
damn I didn't know it was her that did this one
Shimomura never worked on MM5. Mari Yamaguchi did.

MASTERPIECE. NOTHING BUT A MASTERPEICE RIGHT HERE.
I agree with Mahaveez. This is the most depressing, dark, and dreary of the Wily themes. It sounds totally depressing.
But I like it!
And Willy fortress 4 stage 2

Hear this and Lumine's Second form's theme in Megaman X8
Holy shit I’m glad I wasn’t the only one
Goes hard af
Yoko shimomura dropped into the mega man series, gave us this banger, and rode off.

this sounds like something out of the battle network games, i like it

They should have saved this one for Megaman 6, so that it would fit with the imminent end of the NES era.
Agreed.
Now that I notice...
There's a track on my Mega Man X fangame that really sounds like this one... Guess I'm having too many classic vibes, haha
Gasp! Wily was the villain all along?!

The beginning sounds like Wily Stage Theme 2 from Megaman 4.
English:you have right xd
Español: tu tienes razon
Turkish: Haklısın! (Ama emin değil)
I could never get past flipping *WILY 1*.
Muy triste y me encanta por eso
And this theme resurface to MM10 as Wily Stage 3 with the mix of MM6 Wily Stage together.
I love this theam!💜💜💎
So sad theme :'(
*Maliciously uses the M Tank
Song likes megaman 4 wily fortress 2 in some parts
When you have to show the report card to your parents
This gives me so much nostalgia from the 3DS EShop trailer
This was composed by one of my favorites, Yoko Shimomura. Nowadays, I can tell that it’s her style.
No sir. Mari Yamaguchi did. Shimomura was not involved in MM5.
people im going to say this once mega man 5 doesn’t suck
:0... This remember to lumine phase 2 theme
MM5's OST is not my favourite from the series (not be a long shot), but there's still a few bangers. This is one of them.
This track is better than the wily stages in mm4
