Just barely a grown up and he held the world in the palm of his hand. He could have been anything at any time. Elvis knew who he was and who he wanted to be. He tried his best to bring those things together.
CAPTAIN TOM, SIR: A belated comment to thank you for another look into an early ELVIS. This would be the last time "The Ed Sullivan Show" allowed the cameras to view ELVIS moving around, unless it was only from the waist up. That was the "morraies of the day". THANK YOU!
There is a more raw performance of Hound Dog where he appeared on The Milton Berle Show which caused a raucous! After that performance on Milton Berle they would only shoot him from the waist up
Agree. The performance of Hound Dog on the Milton Berle show was the best, and the one that was so controversial. Seems ridiculous now. It’s interesting because the audience loved it and so did Milton Berle! Elvis was fantastic.
His 1st appearance on Sullivan was Sept. 9th, 1956. 82.6% of TV viewers tuned in, which made it the most watched TV show of the 1950s. 7th grade had just started for me at my local Catholic School, where I was only taught by nuns. My entire class of girls tuned in. To give you an idea of sexual morals back then in Balto., 7th and 8th graded had separate classrooms for girls and boys. Elvis sang Hound Dog, Don’t Be Cruel and Love Me Tender. He was the talk of nation. He sang 3 songs on Oct. 28th, including the Hound Dog, you reacted to. During his Jan. 57 appearance, just days before his 22nd birthday, he sang 7 songs. By late Jan, our middle aged, nun teacher, brought a portable record player to class, to play some Claude DeBusey, so we could hear some good music. 😆
He was born to be a star.
He was a gift from God.
Wowww wowww wowww mazing Elvis
So fun to watch. Had a gift as a performer.
He was always so polite too❤❤❤❤

This is so funny. He had it all. Was born with it.

Elvis enlisted in the US Army in the 1950's. He was stationed in Germany.
Elvis was drafted. He didn’t enlist!

Do young so charasmatic. He blew everyone away in the 50's. React to Elvis and Frank Sinatra togethet
Elvis was the highest paid performer on the Ed Sullivan Show of all time. I thought that was cool. He out did the Beatles and Rolling Stones.
If only he had toured the world
He was just being himself! Not trying to cause any "hoo rah rah" lol😁 Great fun
🤗🤣🤣🤣🤙🏾

A slightly different version ii from The Milto burl show I believe. A diff'erent end is quite unique. Thanks.
We need God back in America
As long as you vote for the left-wing democrat party, you'll get the exact opposite
