Advice from senior of 2019 batch. How to crack online assessments: -> Every online assessment has 2 parts: Aptitude part and the course related part. -> To get interview calls your strategy should be able to score 100% in apti part and about 50-75% in the course related part. I followed this strategy was always able to crack the pre interview assessment of every company. The thing is that the company knows that we have to train them into doing our stuff and the thing taught in college is mostly outdated. So they want to see who has a common sense and pick up faster. If your score in apti is 100% and in course material is 50%, company is convinced that whatever we teach he'll be able to grasp and he has a decent basic knowledge of the subject. However if you score 95%-100% in course related part and 50% or less in apti, companies are like this guy can not pick up. He's good at grunt work but not smart work. Plus we have to put effort in making him unlearn and again retrain him. Companies are less willing to bet on such guys. Plus companies are also afraid that such people might quit the company at the drop of a hat and go to pursue masters. Hope this helps!!

I'm in final year in Manipal University and my majority of friends with similar knowledge level as of me got placed . some of my friends to whom i use to teach dsa got placed at packages of 9 lpa , 15 lpa and i gave 4 interviews got rejected in all of them ,now placement season is about to end and the feeling when all your friends are placed and u aren't that cant be described in words. Along with hardwork , luck and fate too matters.......

No, banks software roles ke liye CSE IT ko hi prefer krte hain. But for other non tech roles like data/business/finance/credit analyst, they are open for all branches. 90+ marks are very good. Try to increase it to 100-110, mil jaega JU me circuit branch aaram se.

Aren't the alumnis pulling in the companies at ju? Is the alumni network non-existent?
Alumnis can't hire every single unplaced student. They do help but it is not enough. I am from DTU and we have only 50% of students placed, although our intake is over 2500.

Waitlisting is useless, if people from main list don't join then the waitlisted candidate would be considered, don't rely on it. Try to find other opportunities.
