I'm sorry that you haven't had any positive comments. This is an incredible video! I am hoping to get to Alaska to see the Aurora next year. I have the f/1.8 version of this lens. Hopefully Nikon and Sigma can agree to get this on the Z mount before my trip. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your kind comments ! I think that new sigma lens is optically truly amazing. I have Parkinson’s and that focus lock feature is really a game changer too. Hope you make it to Alaska!
The aurora are far enough away that they are focused at infinity similar to the stars. This type of aurora is more like a glowing cloud with somewhat ill defined boundaries so may seem somewhat less focused
@@jpstravels9082 I also bought a sigma 1.4mm f/1.4 + sony a7s2 and am going to test it in aurora shooting, I’m wondering what the most optimal settings are. For example 25 fps, ISO 3200-40000 depending on brightness. But I would like to know what are the minimum fps values and maximum ISO values that should be avoided.
@@jpstravels9082Great video! Have you ever tried faster shutter like 1/50 and using software to bring up exposure? I wonder if that would help make the images crisper.
Beautiful!! It reminds me of the magical part of the movie The Abyss.
They are magical to me too💫
This is absolutely incredible my friend! I'm so happy to see the 'aurora gods' were in your favor. Thank you for sharing!
🙏thanks!

By the way, don't you think the focus here is on the stars (at infinity) and not on the aurora? Or is it impossible to focus on the aurora?

what ISO setting did you use?
25600
@ thanks!
Is it f/1.4? Maybe you should have used a higher ISO?
Yes f 1.4. Yes a higher ISO could be better given that this display didn’t brighten significantly

23.97 FPS 1/25 shutter 25,600 ISO I lower iso for very bright auroras as it is easy to blow out the highlights Good luck!
