Mark Ronson is the British guy you are thinking of with Bruno Mars but he is not a one hit wonder - far from it. He has had multiple hit singles featuring various singers - several of which were top 10 hits in the UK. And then - in addition to his own hit records he's also produced lots of records / albums by a lot of famous artists.
The cover of Valerie with Amy Winehouse being probably his other most popular hit. He did an album of stuff like that actually, including a cover of Oh My God by the Kaiser Chiefs, performed by Lily Allen, which was another hit in the UK.
This video seems like a personal ranking. "Crazy", by Gnarls Barkley, was obviously popular, but I don't think it outsold stuff like "Macarena" or "Somebody that I Used to Know" and never even made it #1 like those two did (and they both stayed at #1 for mulitple weeks). I really appreciate that it seems to try to include hits from the 1960's until current.
@@macc.1132 if I remember correctly, I’m sure that Gnarls Barkley actually removed the song from all stores, as they wanted people to remember the song fondly & not get sick to death of it, like most overplayed songs. So that’s why it didn’t have the same success of some of the other songs on this list
Foster The People had a total of 5 top 40 radio airplay mainstream charts. They are far from a one hit wonder. Sixpence None The Richer had couple more radio airplay hits. John Waite had 4 radio airplay hits. Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back was banned by many radio stations, his only radio hit was a top 15 Jump On It. Boy Meets Girl had another hit. Stacy Q also had another hit. Vanilla Ice also had another top 10 song called Play That Funky Music. Los Lobos had 4 other hits. Rockwell had another. Lipps Inc had two more.
Foster the People is not a one-hit wonder. "Pumped Up Kicks" is their biggest song, going 14x Platinum, but "Houdini" and "Helena Beat" were also hits. Their song, "Sit Next To Me" in 2017 went 4x Platinum, as well.
I’ve seen quite a few one hit wonders videos on TH-cam and this one seems actually researched and by far the most accurate. In terms of the actual songs/artists in it and not in it
