This video made me happy, I loved POGS growing up as they were more accessible than other expensive toys. I rememeber staring in awe at a guy at the flea market who had the back of his pickup truck full of boxes upon boxes of pogs, and tables just covered in them. He had tubes for storage that were like 6 feet tall for sale. I also remember when people started playing with the torpedo slammers and it just changed the game because you could lose all your POGS instantly. Or my neighbors mother coming over to complain that we "Stole" her sons POGS in a game, because he didn't have permission to gamble with them when he lost them. She made us spread out all of our POGS so she and he could go through them and she started picking up extras insisting they were his when even he said they weren't. So many good times. I still have a full set of the authentic POGS brand from back in the day. Stored in a Trapper Keeper no less. Tried to collect all the slammers but never could get them all.

I bought the POG the Game on eBay before I heard of this thing! Also, you bring up marbles, I can't help but think of that "Pearl of Wisdom" episode of DuckTales where the nephews used the Great Masher marble to destroy a missile. That was epic.
I would love to see a few pack openings and some non game Retro stuff now and again. If you are still in a Pog mood there are two VHS tapes about Pogs when they were in full swing up on my channel. They were like the first thing I put up.

Dude, that is SICK. I had a crap ton of POGs when I was a kid. I remember I had this one slammer, had to have been like a quad thick one, acrylic, and it had a real scorpion embedded in it. Had some of the sluggo POGs, too, where they had the Patented "Motion Sickness" lenticular animation slammers...Just gotta say, 10-year-old me would have LOVED that one radioactivity warning POG. For whatever reason, I was really into that symbol at the time. Though, I can't say much has changed in that respect, 26 years later lol I have to see if they're still in, assuming POGs haven't had a second death, due to COVID. Would love to start playing again after all this over if not. And yeah, the skull and cross bones POGs were poison. The way my friends and I played Poison though, it didn't give someone else your flipped POGs on that turn, you just had to put all the other POGs, except for the poison POGs, back in the stack. It was kind of like a Wheel of Fortune bankrupt mixed with hit points; you kept the poison POGs you flipped, and if you got five of them, you were out of the game. We never played for keeps when we played Poison. Too easy to get cheated out of everything by a bad shuffle.
I think I missed the whole Pog craze by about 3-4 years. I still don’t know how it’s played but it looked like it was similar to Jax. I have a funny pog story I might tell some day... well, it was funny to me and my best friend.
Here in Portugal they are also called Tazos. I've had alot of TMNT ones, and the repeated ones i cut them into guitar picks... My favourite slammer was one with the Mortal Kombat dragon logo, it was awesome!!! Aww good old days

We weren't allowed to play pogs at school so I just played at home. But I had all the knockoffs. And we had carpet so it was crazy easy to flip the whole set.

When I was looking up POGs on ebay I did run across some Australian listings for POGs that were released over there. So They existed there... just maybe not as popular?
I have all my pogs from the 90's even the the pog game mat and board that pog made that I won at a toy expo at the pog booth when pogs just started out and all most no one knew what they were at the time.
If I remember correctly didn’t they have to have a special stamp or seal on the blank side stating they were authentic? I would get into fights with kids when they would cheat haha had on my might ducks cap on and my Reebok Neón color jacket hahah good times

Also, how about those clear plastic slammers you could get from places like Del Taco and such? Man, i miss the original pogs, and that era. So many good times.

I had a few buzzsaw slammers, made the mistake of using them to play for slammers...only had one left after that, which I still have to this day!
