Skid Row was such a super cool cracking group... I know people argue about it, but it is irrefutable that for at least a short while, they were the leading force, their intros were on everything. And I know that they did some cracks on the PC-bucket afterwards, but nothing will ever compare to their Amiga years.
My goodness, the clarity/purity of these sounds via headsets / -phones is simply ecstatic! It sound "more real" than just being a music (you know, like say the sounds of someone renovation right next to you; that "clear" sound which is hard to record). Thanks for uploading these tunes over here too. I was one those kids who occasionally but still rarely was able to play with Amiga and bump into these kinds of tunes. But unfortunately this machine simply was out of mine&mom's budget back then (and to some extend even today); not to mention that there wouldn't have been enough "geeks" around me & and the living area to help around getting games and other helps in the first place...
Yeah, it helped if you had a friend or relative that you could copy games from. I'm grateful to my mom for buying me a second hand Amiga 500 (with a memory addon switch!), that came with a huge cardboard box full of original boxed games. I still beat myself over the head for selling the whole lot, as I transitioned into a 486 PC in the mid 90s.
Visor By Zzzax - OMG - i'm in heaven. Back in the there was an awful game called "Severed Heads". I used to boot it just to leave the SkidRow starfield on a loop with this tune. Amazing. Thanks for the upload and thanks for keeping the stereo seperation as it was on Amiga.
Check this out too th-cam.com/video/rIfKMQJPLgk/w-d-xo.html. More recent Zzzax upload and features real A500 audio (which is more period accurate for these tracks, more info on its description).
I found these tunes really annoying while trying to get to my pirated game as a spotty youth, who'd of thought that all these years later I'd be voluntarily listening to them, ahh nostalgia
Visor's one of my favourites. Yeah, I'm being a little lazy here, I could run up an emulator, fire up my 'scope and "look" at the answer, but I have to ask, what modulation are they using at 05:44 on that arpeggio? I know plenty about analogue synthesis etc but it's clearly something slightly different. To my ears, it sounds like PMW is being applied to a sine wave, is it altering the duty cycle of that, so you have a widening "up" hump, followed by a narrowing "down" dip or something?
Download (14 days): bit.ly/2QIGg5E Not identical, but better. Source audio for these were recorded from a real A1200 instead of using PC DeliPlayer wave writer (emulation).

A really nice compilation. Thumbs up for your efforts. 👍
Sounds really good with headphones, very well done Kuokka.

Hahaha! I on the other hand, would often times get stuck on the cracktro screens voluntarily even back then. Great tunes!
@@kukko83 Crack intros were the thing why I got interested in the scene. Got some of my tunes to some crack intros as well :-)
While I liked Robocod, I often loaded just the cracktro for the song (tune 2)
Wow, that's some impressing sound.
skid row always in our memory!

Never mind, found it. "Day of the dead" by CPT from a Lemmings II cracktro by Fisc
And the second unknown track is "Synth Drum" by Zzzax
