- My video coverage of the two sister's Kayonna and Hailee Gilbert's ceremony in Peridot, Arizona. My friends Jesse and Misty Lachuga were the co-sponsors of the double dance. In Peridot, Arizona at Beaver Springs Dance Ground. The video coverage was to share with friends and family of the two girls who were not able to attend and also to have for their keepsake.

I always tough all American natives are related to Northern Mexican Natives, one day I made a stop in Mescalero NM I'm a bull hauler and up in the mountain there is a fire station and early in the morning a Native knock my door and He brought me a really hot tea and offered to me and we started a conversation, He told me his Mom was Mexican Native and She was from the Geronimos people from Sonora, His Mom was born the same town where Geronimo was born. To my surprise did know Geronimo was born in Mexico, they were divided by the Border and Criricahuas and other tribes decided to follow Him because he was a great warrior. I know Tarahumaras y Yaquis I see them North of Chihuahua and Sonora Mexico. Nice people, they don't bother nobody.

Is it only females that have this ceremony? Is it like a coming of age type of thing? And why don't the males have this ceremony?
If anyone can answer these I would be most grateful.
How long is the Ceremony
The ceremony part is 2 days, 1 night, but all together it takes approximately 5 to 7 days
correction-
the ceremony is 4 days.. starting off on Friday morning.. and all the way till Monday morning.. the actual Ceremony part is Friday morning -Sunday evening.. then on Monday is the undressing..

Food Exchange (Morning/Afternoon)
Dressing of the Girl(s)
(Friday Evening)
Social Dance)
(Friday Night)
Saturday-
Massage and Dance
(Morning)
Crowndance
(Evening/Dusk)
Sunday-
Painting of the girl(s)

WHY posting these Sacred Ceremonies ??? No disrespect but enough culture vultures out there, some things should remain protected...smh ( I did not watch I’m only leaving my words ).
It's not for you but for the family that wanted to see their daughters in the ceremony live. A moment captured at that time. People don't seem to understand that at times that family love seeing the past of the ceremonies because it brings them great memories of that moment. No need to be judgemental about the video.

This is why I feel we should keep ceremonies to ourselves only because some people just don't know and understand the meanings behind them like myself a YAQUI we have the toad ceremony were we use it as a way of walking with our ancestors and people view it as just another way of getting high...lol...walk in a good way..👍👍
