It was so annoying getting the bad omen effect after killing the captain, one time they killed my whole village, and I wasn't near it, when I noticed what happened it was too late.
I think that would be interesting if only pillager captains in patrols dropped this potion, and if they follow the player to a village, they tried to drink the potion to call a raid
Old logic of bad omen made more sense. Because it's like when you kill pillager captains other pillagers want to take revenge and whenever you are in a village they would attack so that they can take their revenge, at least they could kill villagers that may be important to you. So possible improvement on the raid farm: A sorter for Bad Omen Bottles that part of said bottles get sent to a brewing station, and converted from normal to splashing. Knowing that most players don't do or care about mob farm, I am pretty certain that the pillager "nerf" is just because the bad omen effect was annoying as hell for casual players.
It made a lot more sense that if you kill a pillager captain, you'd have animosity and the next village nearby would be targetted for a raid. Making it exclusively lock raids to drinking a potion is dumb. They should just make it so you can craft the potion if you can't find a captain to trigger a raid that way. But, if we're talking about crimes, how about the enslavement of villagers by the player? That's pretty much a standard requirement for advanced play, and it's arguably worse than intentionally having a big flight in someone's town.
I just like not having to worry about getting kill credit whenever I am bothered by a pillager patrol.

me: *installs a plugin that reverts the change*
Is there one yet? if so I will be using it
yoo thats pretty smart, definetely be using it when 1.21 is out
Old version exist
@DreazieArkust true, but sometimes you want to use the rest of the update without one small change that isn't to your liking
Why tho??? This change is purely a qol for players who kill a random pillager in the wild.
The only thing that I'm hoping is mojang fixing the games performance instead of this new things that will just increase the games lag even more
It was so annoying getting the bad omen effect after killing the captain, one time they killed my whole village, and I wasn't near it, when I noticed what happened it was too late.
Now ominous potions have no lore. A drop of pillager captain that triggers pillagers only when you drink it seems less sensible to me.
Each time I've found Redstone like just a singular piece. I mine it with a regular iron pickaxe it gives me like 20
The bad omen effect change is also a huge buff for just simple players. It was always annoying approaching a raid tower but then trying to kill the leader by other means so you don't trigger a raid that will destroy your village
If you have a macro like tiny task, the only thing this does is slow the process down
I still Hate THE MAZE weapon, Cause Combat Became So Easy Now, Atleast They Should Have made Like Obtaining It Is a Rare Chance Like Enchanted Apple And Also Make Less Durability, Making This Weapon OP and Also RARE
It is rare
Also making it rare is worse, imagine your playing on a server and because the mace is so rare only 1 or 2 people have it and they just rule the server cause it’s so broken
It is rare, but rarity only makes it annoying to obtain, not actually balanced.
Hardcore TH-camrs are gonna hate this

Is somebody going to tell them that you can find redstone underground?
They should make this feature togglable, that way those who enjoy the lore aspect of a good old fashioned revenge plot don’t have to break their immersion by signing a contract saying ‘yes you’re allowed to be angry about being murdered, I hereby give you permission to seek revenge, thank you for joining my ted talk’
This change wasn't for balancing purposes, this change was made so the average, casual player can decide between using bad omen for a raid, or for using it to make the trial chambers more difficult. This change also allows the player to choose when its used, so it can be saved in a chest until you're ready use it for one of the two events above
Bad omen is used for trials? I guess that helps a little. I still don't agree with the change overall. It'd be better if the potion was a rare drop from captains or something, or only patrol captains drop them
@@OrtegaSauce, nah, it's definitely for balancing. Mojangs stance of auto farms is that effort should match rewards. That's why 0 tick farms had been patched and afk fishing farms nerfed.
Stacking Raid farms are ridiculous OP for something requiring minimal setup.
@@GrandProtectorDarkBalancing a singleplayer sandbox?
@@theenderking111 Yeah, because it can keep things fun and in the spirit of the design. There's a reason a lot of people dislike Mending being easily farmable. Take terraria for example, even if it is possible to stack gear, you still need to actually go out and get it, you're interacting with the game itself and actually playing it, dealing with it's challenges, not setting up something once and then getting free shit for the rest of time.
I actually enjoy a challenge in my games, and having things like raid farms existing and choosing to ignore using them is simply larping at that point. If you don't like the change, I'm sure plenty of people will make a mod to revert it or you can just play on an older version.
@@zyad48 This, I swear the MC community refuses to acknowledge that balance matters for a survival game.
So possible improvement on the raid farm:
A sorter for Bad Omen Bottles that part of said bottles get sent to a brewing station, and converted from normal to splashing. After they're converted, a pressure plate triggered Redstone clock activates and dispenses a bottle when a clock cycle is done and the player is on top of said pressure plate. The clock cycle is equivalent with the bad omen effect duration to not waste potions. If the player leaves mid clock cycle, the cycle cuts and the dispenser doesn't get powered regardless.
After a simple afk ominous bottle farm. Afk there until you have lots of bottles then one can build a raid farm anywhere.

Or just a material the can be crafted to trigger the raid when used, like a horn.

I feel like it should be a lingering potion that's thrown instead, and it's thrown very high up to where you're able to dodge it if you don't want the effect
I like the new potion deal because with how easily a raid can wipe out a village if a player isn't prepared, the player should have a bit more agency in whether or not something of that scale happens. Especially in situations where outposts generate close to villages.
As a casual player I like this a lot better, it was so annoying to either find a cow or wait forever for the effect to wear off just so I wouldn't start a raid while exploring. Especially early game.
