Love Tom Waddle. He played the best and most courageous game a Bears receiver ever played. It was the ‘91 wild card game at home against the then up and coming Cowboys. Tommy took 2-3 absolutely horrific shots throughout the game. Although wilting, woozy, and wobbled, he continued to get up and made big catch after big catch, culminating in catching the Bears only touchdown of the game. I can almost guarantee he suffered at least 1 concussion in the game. He loved, and continues to love the Bears. That game got him a spot on the then highly coveted All Madden Team. I’m glad Big Cat said that about Ben Johnson. Yeah he’s been great, but he has elite linemen, a top 10 receiver and two great backs he can do everything with. We have good receivers, backs and a QB, but the line hasn’t shown consistently that they can block at an elite level.

Poles deserves more heat for the Rome pick. The kid is a tremendous talent, but there was no reason to take him with the 9th pick when you already had Moore and Allen. They could’ve had any lineman outside of Joe Alt and JC Latham.

My first game at Soldier was a game against Detroit that my Dad brought me to. Waddle scored a TD at the end of regulation. It was opening day I believe, still my best Bears memory.
I think a sleeper candidate is Mike McCarthy his contract is up at end of season I don’t think Jerry brings him back and if I am Mike I want out of that he is a good offensive mind and will not break the bank I can see him as Bears next head coach

Caleb isnt going to just magically regress cause hes the HC. Brown even said hes still going to be the one calling plays except hes not in the booth. He was a assistant head coach under McVay. Ben johnson hasnt been a HC either and is callin plays in the most ideal situation: great o line, great 1-2 punch rbs, good veteran QB. Dan cambell is the driving force for that team. Hes the heart not ben johnson. Im not saying he cant do it, but hes just as unproven. It could be potentially like Nagy all over again.
The head coach is supposed to protect the rookie QB. For all we know, Caleb did exactly what he was told to do. That would be a further indictment against Eberflus.
