Could you imagine the conversation at the trough of the wave. To helmet, “You still here”? Helmet-“Yeah, it’s my wave” “Great, can I invite you to to turkey dinner, cuz your about to get stuffed”
yeah kook if its a tourists who drops in on a local but if a local drops in, its called "sharing a wave". See, this is why i hate surfers like that. Such a selfish douchebag
I don’t know why so many people assume that car got dropped in on. This is to friend sharing a way of having fun happens a lot. It’s not always a bad thing. I enjoy sharing wave with a friend once in a while.
@@seancallahan1312 correct, I was a Haleiwa local, surfed Pipe occasionally but caught alot more waves not trying to bust into that crew....ever been there ?
@@seancallahan1312how do you know anything you just said to be true? Only thing you know for sure is Koa isn’t local. You don’t know what happened in the water for the last hour or two, don’t know who has been snagging the most set waves, respecting the rest of the lineup etc, you know none of this. You only see this out of context clip and then assume
@@NCSurf888 If Koa can take off 20 or 50 feet deeper than the main crowd, he can take how many waves he wants, just like anywhere. If you can't take off on the peak, don't cry or throw a fit and burn people cause you get leftovers.
@@NCSurf888 Koa took off on that wave wayyy farther back than the weak-ass shoulder-hopper. If he's taking off that far back and the other people's ability forces them to surf another part of the reef down the line, there's no debate about who's in the wrong, who was there or not there (you and I both weren't there). Doesn't matter if there's only one wave an hour. If you can't take off on the peak, you get none. If you're out there for the table scraps, you don't get to be picky, or get frustrated and grab a drumstick off the plate of someone who's there for the feast. You paddle to the actual takeoff, and put yourself in the rotation (in a neutral spot, not at somewhere controlled like Pipe, obviously). And if you blow waves (don't come out of the barrels when they're makeable) you don't get a spot in the rotation. No one will honor your position if you're only making one out of three or four. So you surf spots according to your level, or if you go out at some dream barrel and can't take off on the peak, know that you're taking leftovers and putting in time so that you will learn what it takes to take off on the peak. Then if you make enough waves and/or aren't a nuisance, you're accepted. If you have any doubt who is in the wrong here, you have a long way to go before you're ready for a competitive spot (getting waves cleanly no matter how many pros or local rippers are out). The Lane and Stockton ave. back in the day chewed guys up and spit them out if they didn't adapt. I can't see letting someone continue surfing if they burned you and didn't apologize sincerely. If they apologize, maybe give them pointers on how to move to the peak, which days are easier to slide into the pack, etc.
Never give up,never surrender… Barney got shut down 😂
I thought they were trying to hold hands at first

Classic old Aussie guy thinking he’s a local at a world-class spot
Jesus what is this music?
Localism man. It’s a thing. You preach it all the time, don’t hate
How is this localism? Neither are local there. It looks like a basic respect issue that was handled perfectly.
