Jordan is a beautiful country especially Amman. I have been there for almost 4 years.You just covered the downtown area of Amman which is an old area and has rustic feel to it . But Jordan is much much more than that. And to correct you opportunities for Indians is just not limited to Jewellery sector. Indians are all over the place in IT, finance etc. You should have explored more to show the real and actual picture.
Good content but I would like to correct you where you said they keep your passport in Dubai, I have been hearing this a lot recently and this is just a rumour, it does happen but in very few places(mostly uneducated people desperate for a job and bad employers taking advantage) However this are very few, most of the employers in UAE are good.
nope they do this is many places.My dad had been working there as a senior engineer and still his passport is with them.But they do give it to him when he asks though no problem.But yeah legally they aren't allowed to

But its legal if both the company and the employee have a written agreement and employer must give the passport if needed, in case he doesnt give which is rare (usually when you want to quit), you can report to the local authority and they will help you right away.A friend of mine had the same issue when leaving his company and the local authority helped him and he got his passport in no time and joined another company without his visa getting cancelled and you can always find a company where its not necessary to hand over your passport.Employers are allowed to keep the passports of employees handling money or something worth lots of money which makes sense but there must be a better way to prevent theft.

They held on to his passport for one whole year after which he migrated to the USA. It is wrong and illegal and their excuse is that they confiscated the passport due to past employers leaving with unpaid debts et cetera or not finishing work contract. But their work contract also changed when they force people to do different job task upon being trapped in that country. So no I don’t think it’s just a rumor, it happens to many Indians and Filipinos and it’s horrible practice._
