I walked from Porto to SdC, in May & then September Lisbon to SdC (2019). There is a bag transfer called Tui trans along the Central path. I'm 68 and carried my pack both times. A good light pack makes all the difference. The cobblestone paths in Portugal are interesting. A tennis ball at night rolled under the foot is good. Bom cahmino
No there is no issue with communication. Most people we met all have some English language capacity. If all fails, use Google translate. Although, learning a few words of Portuguese would help, just the pleasantry ones. The locals would appreciate you are trying, a great ice breaker.
Not a problem at all. In Portugal most people spoke English well or enough there was no problem. In Spain English was not as common but we had no problem getting by with a few phrases. We are going back and have started using Duolingo to get to know some more Spanish.
What a terrific interview! Everything was made so clear with photos, pictures of books, maps and apps. Can’t wait to get going on this route!
