Moto guy here, so those bolts in the fork lugs are called pinch bolts which tighten down onto the axle. Key point you’ll want to tighten the axle first. Then with the pinch bolts loose grab the front brake and cycle the suspension. This will align the fork tubes. If they don’t get centered you could having binding as you go through the stroke. Looks cool interested in the review.
Those screws on at the axle is to hold the axle tight with the wheel centered for minimal bend on the stanchions. Fox also does it with their forks. So you guys can watch a video on the fox channel about how to properly use those axle tightening screws.
6:54 The guards are just called stanchion guards. Mud guards are the goards protecting you from mud. This fork can't have regular mudguards. If you want to install that it has so be spesifically made to replace the stanchion guards. Or you can install mudguards on the steerer tube, but it might interfere with cables, and it won't give as good protection i guess.
Great intro! It was a blast riding with you Tick and hanging with you guys. Can't wait to see where this fork ranks. We definitely put it through the paces!
You guys are one of my favorite all time channels you deserve actual TV show you're 100x better than Orange County Choppers where all they did was argue all show and make a bike here and there you and dad are awesome together. And I am planning on getting those forks for a hyper ebike mountain 29 I am in the process of ordering. Thank you for the quality of reviews you do and the entertainment of your show as whole please keep it up.
I’ve had that same fork on my fat bike. After a year the rebounce stopped working and started to act like a pogo stick. I got a used cartridge and jb welded on the stanchion and it’s been working ggggggreat!
Gonna happen brother, and I laughed my butt off when it cut to him and his face!! He was squatted down as well, very funny. He says it was his BLUE STEEL!!🤣🤣🤣🤔
I ride fat bike in the winter in MN and WI and other than a great pair of wool socks, all you need is layers. Heated clothes are really not necessary unless you are just sitting around. If you are moving, you stay warm. I am curious about heated socks, but am a little wary because of sweat...
Gotcha man, I was worried about the sweating effect but....The levels of heat helped big time, just warm all-day long!! But it would suck to start sweating and have a frozen foot!!
7:27 I've not heard about A and B mounts. I think you are confusing something else with this. Or did you see it somewhere? This is a post mount. But IS mount has bolts going in from the side.
An easy way to set the crown race that is also guaranteed to prevent any damage from hammering it directly is to get a scrap of PVC pipe about 12" long. I think a 1 1/4" diameter one works best for a straight steerer and a 1 1/2" diameter for a tapered style. I also put a cap on the one end of the pipe. Looking at $5... $10 max. Place race on fork, slide pipe over steerer tube and give it a few whaks w a hammer. The cap helps protect the end you hammer on. Essentially guaranteed to drive it on straight and no chance of a miss and damaging the crown etc...
Well thanks John, it's gonna be a fun ride and we look forward to the REVIEW!! Thank you for subbing, welcome to the #wolfticknation. We appreciate you doing that brother!! STAY WARM!!!!
Happy New Year. I'm excited about this fork. I can't wait for the next video. Great new intro, still loving the music portion. I agree with Wolfman about the steerer tube length. I try to keep them a little long because I can always add a few more spacers. Plus, the resell value for when I move on from that fork. I love that Star Nut setter, too. I had one until the Steerer tube was the same color as that bottom piece, and I tossed the wrong piece. 🤦♂️

I’ve watched so many of your videos and it’s inspired me and my brother to build our own budget builds. Would love to send you guys some pics of the bikes once we finish them. Maybe get your guys opinion or reaction on the builds?
Like the intro, You know what in theory if done right a fork like that should really work better than the normal style fork if done right because there is less unsprung weight that has to be moved up and down on the suspension stroke compared to a traditional style fork. Nice heated socks I have some kind of like that that I use when fishing in the winter they are awesome!! Happy New Year Guy's!
Yes boys Happy New Year! Love the new intro , funny stuff as always. And wow Berzerker Nick coming through yet again! Can’t wait to see the real time review and remember no free riding or jumping. 😝
Just wanted to throw this out there! Specialized has some tires on sale for about 25$ right now. My little brother just ordered a 27.5x2.6 and 2.3 butcher dh casing combo for about 54$ figured that'd be another budget tire option for you guys to test out! They have a ton of options right now mostly for 27.5 bikes and most of them are from the 10-20$ range. Also other than tires l, my lil bros aggressor is pretty much done. Found a deore groupset for 100$ and the bike for 100$ as well. By the end of it he'll have a nice safe and trail capable mtb for less than 300$!
Haha it took us a minute to figure it out. It seems that it also takes the place of adding stability since it doesn't have the traditional arch. Thanks man👍
That was a nice mailtime and the Bolany forks look solid, didn't see them flexing under the Wolfman test!! Interested in seeing how they measure up in the real time review. Happy New Year to all of the #WolftickNation!
I’ve bought these on the back of just seeing them in this video. Probably the 1st set in the U.K.! 🤘🏻 Really hope they do you a job, only negative so far is probably the weight. Look forward to seeing your review Tuesday 😁
One more small request that I forgot, can you measure the axle to crown length please? Interested to see if they really can be used on 26”, 27” & 29” frames/wheels 😁

Hopefully the performance matches the looks! I’m personally nervous about budget forks but these look decent. The wolfman’s moaning during the dyno testing 😂. Mr Burgandy is back. Happy New Year and great start to 2022!

the two things that are on the stanchion's are just to protect them. One problem with inverted forks is that the stanchions are easyier to hit on rocks because they are lower so there gaurds to protect from scratching
Happy new year guys, really looking forward to what 2022 brings for the Wolftick nation! New intro was great, love the that cry of "himalo!" never fails to make me life That fork looks amazing, Berserker smashing it as usual! Cant wait for the next one! Take care 🍻👍😎
We will! They are definitely interesting, oh and the socks are 🏆 they lasted from 9 till 6 when we got done riding in 25 degree weather with Brandi!! And the battery's stayed mounted so I like them, and the Wolf loves his jacket, the battery did not last as long but still very nice quality.
J-man, I'm tellin' ya, regardless of how the Bolany fat bike fork worked out when you tested it, mine is great for what I do, which is not hard on it. This Bolany 680 inverted fork is a testament to that. Granted, I don't have a lot of experience with sus forks, but I know a decent thing when I see it. Bolany is okay stuff in my book.
Gotcha brother, glad to hear from ya and thanks for the heads up! I really need to get both for a straight and tapered. Appreciate it Ebike! Oh we got another Ebike collab offer:/
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS hey Man I know ebikes aren't exactly your target audience and some of your viewers aren't into ebikes, but who doesn't like seeing Wolfman out riding ebikes with Tick!! That's what its all about, getting out and having fun!
I'm actually starting to wonder if dnm oems some of these cheapo forks because that looks EXACTLY like a dnm usd6. Also the guards on the stanchions are for preventing rocks dirt etc. From scratching them
I think the biggest question i have about all the forks you review with this one especially, what is the serviceability like. Does the air chamber and the damper come in an all in one cartridge? or is it serviceable like a fox or rockshox?
Yeah we get that a lot. Our problem with tearing open forks is that we are trying to see how they hold up for the average rider who isn't going to be doing any internal maintenance or modifications. If we open up the fork we then introduce another variable to decide how the fork performed over time. We have considered tearing open forks after they fail to show what's inside, but so far we have only had one fail. Hope this helps you understand our position better. Thanks for watching and commenting man👍.
Those look pretty cool. I think all forks should have stanchion protectors. I hit my forks on a rock yesterday and was only about an inch from hitting the stanchions
You can cut pipe off but you can't cut pipe ON!... Never cut your steerer tube until your happy with the height of your Stem. In a lot of cases you can leave an inch sticking out of the top, test till your blue in the face (Hopefully not from poking your kisser with the stem) then and only then... cut. You may want to check out your reach/cockpit etc. Nothing worse than coming up a little short and having to replace bars and even press a new stem to correct a premature cut. For the last 25+ years of trailbike ridin (currently an ol YZ250 '99).. USD stanchion protectors have been called simply... "Fork Guards" or even "stanchion guards" but after 114 years (1908) of motorbike front suspension, very few riders still know the fork inner tubes are called stanchions. (or can even spell it... I used google and I've been calling them stanchions since my Gemini 80 (don't bother looking that thing up, lets say early 80's when I was handed down the ol thing). If you want a bling finish to that stem cut, get something like a PTD54 - Pipe/Tube Deburring Tool. They do both Internal & External burr removal. Before sticking a star nut in. Look at the chance to throw a took kit in there. (several choices, go search... Channel preference???) I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wanted some USD's for my ol Foes Weasel... These would have been GOD. A good match for the rear with it's modern tech but the BoXXer 150's that I put on 22 years ago still feel so plush compared to my Giant Faiths Totem beasts.
Man sounds like you've got some experience:) If you take a look at some of the other videos we do have a tool kit in one, its a oneup. Appreciate the comment and the KNOWLEDGE:)
I knew you guys were going to get a kick out of the fork. It's supposed to work with 27.5 plus and 29er, also the Allen bolts are to lock the axle, and those are rock guards protecting the stanchions
Man if you are talking about the top part or I guess the uppers, it would be 42mm. If you mean the I guess lowers or stanchions in this case, it should be on this episode when we go over the measurements. Hopefully this helps.
DNM offers one fork like this one but way better built . DNM is probably the most underrated brand when it comes to forks and shocks . That fork is beautiful though .
want to check air pressure and it spills LOT of red oil out i was like WTF is going on ? maybe it was because the fork was not in use and the lubrication oil was on the bottom of the fork....
Those screws on at the axle is to hold the axle tight with the wheel centered for minimal bend on the stanchions. Fox also does it with their forks. So you guys can watch a video on the fox channel about how to properly use those axle tightening screws.
Yes, that's correct. It's called floating axle.

New intro was great, love the that cry of "himalo!" never fails to make me life
That fork looks amazing, Berserker smashing it as usual!
Cant wait for the next one! Take care 🍻👍😎
Thanks for an amazing 2021 Dan, so glad you are here and everywhere! LOL much love and see ya on the PATREON!! Gotta a new one up earlier
Happy New Year Guys
Thanks Matthew, appreciate you being here for 2022!!
Fork looks good will so how it stacks up to the rest. Let me know how the coat and socks do. Could be handy up here in the north.
We will! They are definitely interesting, oh and the socks are 🏆 they lasted from 9 till 6 when we got done riding in 25 degree weather with Brandi!! And the battery's stayed mounted so I like them, and the Wolf loves his jacket, the battery did not last as long but still very nice quality.
The intro had me at "Himalo😫"
Ha ha ha!! Man had to get creative and figured the opener was gonna need a good oll HIMALOOO!! LOL
Where did you get that little black thing to tie the cable housing to the frame ?
berserker!! Here's an affiliate link

I don't know how I landed here but watching mountain bikers review stuff that's not a thousand dollars is nice. :D
Well man that is great to hear and we are ALL ABOUT IT!! Thank you for finding us and hopefully you stick around brother:)
Honestly, that fork looks very cool! I'd be interested in trying that one HAHAHAHA
Dude, they are BEEFY as PACKOCK!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS They legit look awesome! HAHAHAHA
Please don’t. Poor quality
you guys are awesome
Thanks man! We are glad you found us.
Bet Y’all were wearing that Kemi Moto Sunday at northwoods.
🤣🤣🥶🥶 Yes Sir!!! Lol
curious to know if you could fit plus tyres with those
Yes given that it is a boost, there is plenty of room
J-man, I'm tellin' ya, regardless of how the Bolany fat bike fork worked out when you tested it, mine is great for what I do, which is not hard on it. This Bolany 680 inverted fork is a testament to that. Granted, I don't have a lot of experience with sus forks, but I know a decent thing when I see it. Bolany is okay stuff in my book.
Man we have heard mixed bag, LOL We will find out together👍👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I hear ya brother!
10:39 a short length of 1" PVC works dreams for pounding on crown races! 🤣🤣
@EBikeBuilder 👍🥰
I forgot all about todays video! Sorry im late!
We were expecting you!! Out it came and Mr.H was nowhere to be found 😓😓
I'm actually starting to wonder if dnm oems some of these cheapo forks because that looks EXACTLY like a dnm usd6. Also the guards on the stanchions are for preventing rocks dirt etc. From scratching them
Looks more like a marzocchi shiver from the early 2000s
Thanks Budget, we figured the fork is based off another but man, we have to look at the HIMALOOO!!
Opener seems good. Looks shorter and sweeter.
Thanks V, we played with some ideas but wanted to do exactly that with kind of a explanation of the channel without explaining👍
Those look pretty cool. I think all forks should have stanchion protectors. I hit my forks on a rock yesterday and was only about an inch from hitting the stanchions
Thanks Evan, the realtime is gonna be epic and man such a close call!! Glad the stanchions are still in good shape👍👍
Good intro, I still miss the original intro though!
Appreciate that Chris, you always answer the good stuff🤩
Channel preference???)
I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wanted some USD's for my ol Foes Weasel...
Bought 1 but it didn't comes with setup pressure chart. Anybody has any idea what is the setup pressure chart
Hopefully someone can help.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS thanks for the response. Currently set it at 90psi since i am 220lbs.
nice fork! i wonder if they make that in a fatbike flavor??
Oh they do!! Just off-hand but we may buy!!
I knew you guys were going to get a kick out of the fork. It's supposed to work with 27.5 plus and 29er, also the Allen bolts are to lock the axle, and those are rock guards protecting the stanchions
Man did we EVER! The fork is
bada$$ man, thank you for them. You totally helped kick off a great 2022 brother. Thank You
I got an inverted DNM shock on my ebike. It’s so weird that I thought it was broken.
🤣🤣🤣😉
I knew you would like the granola joke.
More beans thank you so much man!Very thoughtful and we are so looking forward to the bars!! Very cool man, appreciate it.
what are the diameter of the fork legs ?
Man if you are talking about the top part or I guess the uppers, it would be 42mm. If you mean the I guess lowers or stanchions in this case, it should be on this episode when we go over the measurements. Hopefully this helps.
Please do some vids using bolany fork..🤘🤘🤘
Tuesday's video will be the Realtime Review and rating.
You should try conpression plugs. They are reusable, no need for starnut then, and ordering starnut or having alot of starnuts.
We just may try that, thanks Johannes!!
HAHAHA LOVE THE GRANOLA SCENE
That's a sweet bar too
Dude More Beans knocked it out of the park 2 times!! Lol
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Hells to the yeah
are these just the DMR's rebadged?
When I heard about the heavy fork, I looked at my 4.3 kg marzocchi shiver sc and did not understand what you mean
Them some beefy forks!!! What's the benefits of being inverted??? Never heard of that
Man, the forks look and feel pretty sweet! The idea we believe is less unsprung weight??
Dmn that fork looks awesome. Does anybody know if the travel can be adjusted? To like 100 or 120 mm?
It's a sweet fork man, hopefully someone can help you out....We are not sure
DNM offers one fork like this one but way better built . DNM is probably the most underrated brand when it comes to forks and shocks . That fork is beautiful though .
Thanks man, the dnm rear shock we have is pretty good. Would not mind a fork.....
How's the test goin on?
Test was interesting, find out were they rank on the Budget $200 and under board this TUESDAY!! See you there FranzRoast:)
want to check air pressure and it spills LOT of red oil out i was like WTF is going on ? maybe it was because the fork was not in use and the lubrication oil was on the bottom of the fork....
Man I lost my star nut setter. I used a old bolt to bang one in. It worked but not again I’d do that
Man been there done that, 😆🤣
