      Yeah I remember you. We kept passing each other till we finally met in Tongue. I’ve been following some of your adventures on a Facebook page your apart of - great fun on small bikes. I keep looking out for you on your CT125 when I’m up north

    Next time, could be great showing a map and mark the ways. That could be very helpful, also showing camping sites :)

      Yes it was my intention but I couldn’t figure out how to do it the way I wanted. Although I probably could have done it with a map and a pencil if I thought about it at the time.
      I’m sure I’ll try and do another trip in the future and make it a lot better, once I have a bit more editing practice under my belt

    Another great trip - loving the fact we can only hear one side of the conversation and that your dad is getting you a new bike for your birthday 🥳. Fabulous scenery too 😎

      Yes he definitely said I was getting a new Triumph. I wouldn’t lie about something like that. Got to keep my integrity 😆

    i'd agree the west is the best part by far, and particlarly loved the inchnadamph, lochinver, achmelvich drumbeg loop, in fact all the way to laxford bridge. I know what you mean about the steepness of parts, but was lucky to see little traffic and very few of the dreaded motorhomes on any of this part. Although not on the NC500, i'm planning a tour exploring the roads south of glencoe in october, & already looking forward to it. thanks again for uploading this vid

      Thanks for both your messages. I have a 3rd video but unfortunately I had some recording issues (didn’t press record properly 😆) and I am struggling to finish it off. I am keen to get another small bike and tour on similar roads. I think there is a NE250 route too, so that might be on the cards in the future

      @@highlandroadrunner tbh i hadnt heard of the ne250 and just had a look, and it's in a part of the country i wanted to explore, especially after doing a 200 mile or so day round the cairngorms when i finished the nc500 taking in a loop from drumnadrotchit, speyside, dufftown, ballater, pitlochry, so thanks for this, it's on my list now too and i've even found a gpx for it lol. GL with part3, i'll keep my eye out out just in case.

    Brill video...who needs a BMW GS?!? The sports car near the end btw is a Marlin Berlinetta kit car & in a past life will have been a Ford Cortina 😬😀

      Thank you. If I did it again I think I’d choose another small bike. There is something very relaxing about small bikes on small roads.
      I can’t remember the car, I’ll have to go back and have a watch to look for it.

    I'm thinking of doing this ride in a couple of weeks what's it like for fuel stops along the way

    • @highlandroadrunner
      @highlandroadrunner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was plenty of places. I only had an 80 mile range on my tank before the fuel light came on, so we stopped when we thought necessary. Filled up in Inverness, Lochcarron, kinlochewe, Ullapool, lochinver, Thurso and I think Brora. There are a few more along the top in smaller villages like Durness, Tongue and Bettyhill. And I think thee is one in Scourie in the west coast. There are more down the east side like Wick, Dornoch and after that heading south there are a lot more. Some that I have mentioned are independent traders so they might not show up on a fuel app

      If you use Google Maps bring up the area then do a fuel search and it will bring up the fuel stations in the area, some of the small village pumps are card only and are linked to the ANPR system so if your vehicle is not recognised the pump will not dispense fuel. I watched a woman get refused by a pump and she was not happy , as there are no attendants she had to leave without filling up. My cub was doing 80 to 90 miles between fills with the most I put in was 2.89 ltr. it only takes 3.6 so if you are worried be like me and carry a 2 litr spare can of fuel which I did not use.
