Seeing the Gorillas, with the music from Tarzan "You'll Be In My Heart" playing in the background, brought tears to my eyes and lump in my throat. How inspiring and beautiful.
(the U.S. is going through such turmoil right now with so much hate, lies, racism and division being spewed from people on social media ... THIS VIDEO WAS A BLESSING TO TAKE US AWAY FROM ALL THAT FOR A FEW MINUTES ... THANK YOU! 💓)

Love, love, love that you enjoyed Rwanda so much! I have been visiting for the last 8 years and moved here over a year ago. Was so hoping to run into you. I think we went gorilla trekking on the same day (if you post to Instagram the same day). I was entertaining a huge group from University of Tennessee. They took away very similar messages. What if there were no Republicans and Democrats? What if there was no black or white? How can we live as ONE America like Rwanda has taught us? So glad you got to enjoy Kigali and Musanze, and it looks like Lake Burera if that was Virunga Lodge. Next time you're in country, we'll have to visit.

When I was 9-10 yrs old my dad went to Africa (Somalia, Nairobi, Rwanda, Kenya are the places I remember him being) We always struggled growing up, my dad would work 3 jobs sometimes, so when he got the chance to go work and help build wells he went. It wasn’t until about 6 years ago that I found out he was there during their civil war in 1994. I remember my mom always being scared waiting to hear from him while he was on R&R but I assumed it was because he was so far away but really it was because he was in the middle of a war. They didn’t want us kids to know, to worry. He came back with such a huge respect for the people he met and I remember thinking, “wow these people must be amazing!”. Now that I’m 34 he can be more honest about his experience. He had to be armed the whole time he was there, slept with his shoes on in case he was ambushed. It scares me now just thinking about it but that just shows how far a daddy will go to take care of his family. He risked his life to keep a roof over our head

It was not a civil war but a genocide. The Hutus killed 1 millions of Tutsis in two months straight. Two months of full terror and madness. France, the gouvernement in place that time (1994), was complicit in the genocide... And still to this very day, hide and protects some of the perpetrators who started the genocide.

@@benejuliko469 I would have to say the UK was also complicit as the root of the genocide was the after effects of the UK colonization tactics. The English favored the Tutsi's and that started the seeds of hate.
There is a book titled "Left To Tell"
      by Immaculee Ilibagiza.
It is a horrifically hard read about humanity's inhumanity to one another and how hate can turn a heart to stone... but a small light can

Thank you so much for paying such beautiful tribute to my country.
I wasn't born in 1994, but 3 years later. My mom was a nurse who had to give my older brother and sister for adoption, to a nice family from the south of France because she was identified as Tutsi, so as her children. They were 10 and 8, so old enough to remember her. She did that because she knew something was going to happen in Rwanda, everybody knew. So she decided that she was going to die alone but her children will have a different outcome. Far away from this madness. By the grace of God, she did survived to this 2 months of horror. She was so lucky.
During the genocide, she tried to move to Uganda, like many others. She became a refugee, she had to leave everything and everyone behind. During the journey, she did lost the little piece of paper that had the phone number and address of the family that adopted her children. She only had their names and some pictures they gave to her when they came to take away my brother and sister. For 10 years, she tried to find them. My brother and sister and their adoptive parents, believed that she was one of the 1 millions victims.
I took my first breath in a world of post genocide, growing up knowing what did happened. Why I do not have grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins and that I had a big brother and a big sister somewhere in France, that had no idea our mom was still alive and looking for them EVERY SINGLE DAY and that they had a little sister. Me.
Keep in mind that was all before the internet we know this days. No wonder that took her 10 years to finally see them again. From age 10 and 8, to age 20 and 18. We did miss a lot.
However, I do deeply love my country for all that it represents, it's beautiful journey even in its darker days.
Thanks a lot for staying this far ^^
Keep in mind : Love conquers all ! Peace
PS: my mom, my hero, my everything.

Cultivate love not hate! The first couple of minutes were beautiful. George Washington said that once our country divided itself amongst political sides that it would plummet! Division has caused so much hate, I wish the Rwandans could come and teach Americans how to love and appreciate each other, to love our differences instead of condemning them! I hope one day the American leadership can cultivate love and not hate.

This video got me so emotional, I spent 3 months living in Uganda and visited Rwanda and Kenya during my time in East Africa. Rwanda is such an amazing country with such awesome energy. Although as someone who studies East Africa heavily in school it should be noted that Rwanda does still have some improvements to make as the country has extremely limited freedom of speech and several human rights violations. Nonetheless, its amazing how far the country has come. One of the reasons the city is so clean is because they have a national holiday the last Saturday of every month where citizens are required to clean up the streets and do public service (Its called Umuganda). Also, Rwanda has completely banned plastic bags for ten years now!! Can't wait to see the Uganda video, Kampala has a very different energy and not as much development. However, it is truly one of my favorite cities and everyone is unbelievably friendly. Can't wait till the day I go back.

This was such a beautiful video to watch. The gorillas were so majestic I cried. We watched the movie Hotel Rwanda in history class in High School and it was unbelievably eye opening, the genocide was beyond words. It fills my heart with so much joy to see Rwanda in such a beautiful state compared to what it once was.

This video brought me to tears. Thank you Bucket List Family for this beautiful video. Thank you for always sharing such happy videos showing how amazing all these different places in the world are especially in a time where everything we see in the media is dark. For reminding us that treating our neighbors with love and respect can have such an impact and make a difference. I have always loved this family but all I can say after this amazing video is just wow. Love you guys and thank you for taking us on these journeys with you ❤️
