    hi! i have been planning to study in berlin specifically. just wondering if you can speak english there freely? like do people there speak english as well, because i heard its pretty international there! also, is it alright if i ask for your school name? i found a reply of yours that the rest of your classes (besides the german one) are taught in english and i would love to study in a school that teaches in the english language there!
    love the video! definitely looking forward for more of your berlin content! 🤍🤍

      yes most people here know english pretty well actually, and i am currently attending the Freie Universitat Berlin (FU-BEST)! i will be looking forward to your study abroad endeavors :)

    Hey, thanks for the video! I go to Rutgers and I’m about to start the FU-BEST program. I was curious about your experience in the Studentendorf Schlachtensee housing, I’ve seen some mixed reviews. Did you like it? Should I be concerned about the commute?

    • @graceham
      @graceham  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Julia! I actually met a few people from Rutgers for my FU-BEST semester, so what a coincidence! Honestly, I recommend choosing the other housing option that's in the city center because Schlachtensee is an hour away (and also a bus ride, which is inconsistent). However, I chose Schlachtensee because it was 1k cheaper, and I just woke up an extra hour early every day compared to my friends who stayed in the center! So to sum it up - if you can afford the better housing option, choose that one! It's significantly better, but it's not the end of the world if you choose Schlachtensee. I hope you have a great semester abroad!

      @@graceham hi grace, thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately the other housing option is not available for Rutgers students. Since Rutgers also runs on an inconsistent bus system, I’m used to the commuting and having to leave super early for class. So I guess I’m more curious about the room/apartment itself, was it a nice place to live? Thanks again, hope you had a great time (:

      @@Juliagulia1 Aww I see! The apartment itself is okay, the kitchen was a little small but it has all you need (besides a microwave). I gave a quick room tour in my video, so you can see how it typically looks like! You'll be sharing a bathroom with 4-5 other people, but tbh I didn't really have a problem with that. The apartment is in a nice nature spot too, so definitely check out the lake and walking areas nearby! There's also an Aldi and Edeka (two grocery stores), a pharmacy, and a few restaurants in the area. So yeah... it was just okay, nothing too special haha

    Hi. I’m going to Berlin soon, just wondering how do I apply for the Covid Pass? I’ve been doing some research but I couldn't find any info regarding that 😭 Do I apply beforehand or when I’m there? Thank youuu✨🤍 Good luck with your studies! ✨🥰

    • @graceham
      @graceham  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shahera! You can get your covid pass once you land in Germany. You can go ahead and download the app (CovPass), and you'll have to go to a pharmacy to get the certificate. There is one at the airport that costs 20-30€, but if you do it at a pharmacy elsewhere, typically it is free. I heard that they may lift the covidpass rules in March though, so keep an eye out for that update!
