Where I live and farm in Australia this rally came through, we were on a competitive stage. Midnight first car came iver the back of Mt. Buffalo and down into our valley. I was only fourteen then, so exciting. In 1993 a re enactment ralley came through in daylight, quite exciting but not as much as the first. Andrew Cowan drove the original car but I think it broke down before it got to Sydney. In 2018 a few rally buffs went for a drive, unfortunately I was out that day. Great memory.
